Mighty Target Comeback In Promotion Race

Share

“Mighty” Mufulira Wanderers coach John Chella hopes to see his team turn the corner on Sunday in their battle for promotion.

The Shinde side, who are attempting to return to the top flight for the first time since 2005, have not won a game since mid-July have record three draws in seven games.

Mighty on Sunday travel to Kabwe to play fellow promotion rivals Prisons Leopards whom they beat 1-0 in the first leg last May.

“We had hiccup and we have sorted everything out and looking to start winning again,” Chella said.

Mighty are currently 4th with a game in hand on 39 points, 10 behind leaders Indeni after 25 games played.

Third placed Prison are two points ahead of Mighty heading into this match looking to improve on their 0-0 result away to Luanshya United last weekend.

“It will be a 50-50games,” said Prison’s coach Benjamin “Kawilo” Chilongo.
“We have to win this game at all costs to stay in contention for promotion.”

Meanwhile, leaders Indeni on 48 points visit mid-table Mufulira Blackpool at John Kachofa Stadium in Mufulira.

Second place Konkola Mine Police on 45 points host Dabid Chilufya’s  Zesco Luapula who are struggling at the other end of the table.
