KK pays tribute to the Church

First republican president Dr.Kenneth Kaunda and the Archbishop of Cantebury Rowan Williams

First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda has paid tribute to the Anglican Church for promoting peace and unity in the World.

Dr. Kaunda says the world needs spiritual guidance and healing in order for people to live in peace as brother and sister irrespective of race.

The First President was speaking when visiting Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams called on him at his office in Lusaka on Tuesday.

Dr. Kaunda says Zambia cherishes the role the Anglican Church plays in spreading the gospel.

And Archbishop Williams has praised Dr. Kaunda for championing the fight against HIV/AIDS in Zambia and Africa.

Archbishop Williams says his church will continue partnering with government and other organisations in fighting HIV/AIDS in society.

  1. i hope this bishop is not bringing the idea of gays and lesbians to Zambia coz R G Mugabe(from Zimbabwe) stated clearly that he does not like the idea or principle of gays and lesbians

  2. zambia is a blessed nation many people donot know this,, where God is respected even those who say they serve God, they are also respected unlike some nations where God has no room in their nations

    We are blessed to still have KK the father of our nation. may he live long.

    After seeing FTJ, LPM and RB, you begin to appreciate the statesmanship of KK.

  5. #15 am equally suspicious it seems Rowan is not an odinary Bishop even KK gives him some unusual respect. look at the way he (KK ) is standing, it is as though his knees are bent. These guys are likely to legalise homosexuallity during an atmosphere of euphoria.
