Lusaka MMD chairman William banda arrives at the Lusaka magistrate court with lawyers

Embattled opposition MMD Lusaka province Chairperson William Banda has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate Court for mention.

This is in a matter where Mr Banda is charged with one count of proposing violence.

Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate Joshua Banda has set November 2 for commencement of trial in the matter.

Magistrate Banda states that the Lusaka province MMD Chairperson will also undergo trial on November 3 and 4, 2011.

It is alleged that Mr Banda last month instigated MMD cadres in Chongwe District to attack their PF counterparts.

This was in the run up to the September 20 elections.

Mr Banda has denied the charge and has been released on Bail, after paying K60 million with two working sureties.

  1. this man is even happy, and yet he committed serousy offenses not only the chongwe saga.he is lucky ,its the govt of rule of laws.

  2. Seriously am tired of william Banda stories ba immigration judge please deport this thug to Malawi and tag him as prohibited immigrant to Zambia we are tired of him.

  3. Rough Kid.you may go in jail for 25 days with hard labour then come out.The problem with you,YOU NEVER LEARN.You deserve to be deported or jailed for life.THUG LIFE

  4. Let William Banda also be tried for illegal land allocation in Ibex Hill, Lusaka West and Great North Road (Zani Muone area) …

  5. It’s just a question of time, this chap will be behind bars soon. The rule of law will apply in the PF Govt unlike in the MMD Govt.

    • He should nt b deported but jailed coz other foolish cadres lik him will nt learn a lesson. Muchimbokaila fye chimwikate

  6. I think this man is a genius. Just wait and see how he plays on peoples’ minds.. despite all the numerous crimes he has committed against innocent Zambians which would under normal cirumstances guarantee a place for him in the hague, he will very soon be PF chairperson for Lusaka Province. Mark my words somebody.

  7. #12 MMK,I agree with you. Most Political leaders admire William’s CV.This includes the Cobra. It’s just the matter of time.

  8. William and Cobra were KK’s most vocal governors. they had similar ‘call boy’ roles except William has the ability to use his brains.

  9. What worse has William done, than Judge Ngoma’s rive pouching of zulu on state television under the intruction of Cobra, I even thought it was a movie I was watching on ZNBC. and alus the first thing cobra does is to release Ngoma. Unlike Ngoma whose evidence was there for everyone to see, WB is just accused.

  10. I HOPE 4 NOV 2011 WILL BE HIS FINAL DAY IN COURT. WE DON’T WANT COURT COURSES THAT TAKE FOREVER PLEASE. EVEN ONE DAY WITH HARD LABOUR IS ENOUGH THEY BROKE HIS HOUSE, CAR, PROPERTIES AND GUEST HOUSE LEAVING OTHERS UNEMPLOYED.

MAY THE LAW TAKE ITS COURSE.

  11. Hope the police are as well going to arrest those thugs who distroyed his house, car, and guest house leaving others unemployed.
Thus the law for me and No one is or should be above the law

  12. DEPORT WILLIAM TEKERE BANDA TO MALAWI AFTER THE COURT JUDGEMENT AND MAKE HIM A PROHIBITED IMMIGRANT(PI).HE WILL NEVER STEP ON THE ZAMBIAN SOIL AGAIN OR HE RISK BEING JAILED .WE HAVE 90 DAYS TO DELIVER SOME OF THE ELECTION PROMISES THAN WASTE TIME ON USELESS TROUBLE MAKERS.

  13. He looks so happy why did people cry for his sake like the man is cracking. A man nicely handled by PF cadres can not look that happy and pleasant. I hate you PF cadre you have no idea how to remove stupidity from William. Anyway we are a christian nation but hope he will never behave the same again.

  14. Poor willy never learns. some years from now he will be pardoned after being jailed under the PF Govt. He will then be given a position in the party and will again perpetuate violence. That party will lose election Willy again will be arrested possibly killed this time by the winning party.Wllly my father, Uncle , my political foe and pal never learns. The courts are wasting time the man will never reform. I thought grey hair was a sign of wisdom through years of turburlent voyage here on earth but alas i was wrong willy has never learned nor will he ever learn.

  15. @Ricky. Don`t worry mate. It`s enough to send him in. after that he is going back where he belongs-Nyasaland! Simples and job done!

  16. To all those that are saying WB should be depoted, start with GAY SCOT coz he is not a zambian, in our history whites are not zambians more over coming close to ruling zambia. So please start with the log in your eye before u point at a sperk in your friend’s eye.

  17. More like saying Obama should never have been President. Try visiting the KKK website, there is no difference between what you are saying and them.

Being racist is not our nature. Chwe chwe chwe. Oh sorry that is gone and never to come back! Now you can tell them! Nomba Kubeba!

  18. #29, You need help to understand that we are now in the 21st century and racism like slavery belong to the archives of history. The world is now one large cosmolitan community. We have black and Asian MP’s here in the UK and a black president of the world’s most powerful nation on the planet, I can go on and on to show you that you need to broaden and keep pace of your perception of world events. Zambians in the UK are voters here even before they become citizens.

  19. I have no kind words to describe this landless creature. Give him 2 years with hard labour to instil the sense of humanity in it.

  20. We also want Chalwe, Shimpundu Pankoloko, Judge Ngoma, and Kampengele, the PF cadres back in court. All these political violent chaps should be caged. Zambia is a failed state., no justice.

  21. politics is a dirty game..everyone in politics only care about their own pockets. wat reason would make a successful business person go in politics..? almost zero! unless they know their pockets have signs of holes appearing. this joke banda is a political prostitute and soon he will be with PF after cutting deals and selling MMD financial dealings. His a small MMD fish who obvious knows too much that is his ticket out of the hot pot. …thats a fact.

  22. The Judiciary must be cleansed . Get rid of rotten judges . Otherwise the fight against thugiery and corruption will be in vain. Let this criminal go to jail even for two years just on this count. I know others are coming. Bytheway, what is so special about this thug?

  23. We should not waste funds trying people like this one. Simply deport the Nyasalander to his village. ULUSE LWALILE NKWALE.

  24. i cant waste time discussing this maniac old man. i think we ve better things to think about. sad for the victims of williser.

  25. SATA AND PF ARE JUST BEING PETTY AND VINDICTIVE , SATA COMMITTED ALOT OF ATROCITIES DURING THE THIRD TERM WHICH HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CITED FOR GENOCIDE AND CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY, HE MANUFACTURED SCOPION KADOBI AND THE SHE GOAT ESTHER NAKAWALA, BUT PEOPLE CHOOSE TO IGNORE ALL THIS AND WANT TO PAINT SATA AS ANGEL.   PLZ U NO LONGER HAVE TIME 90 DAYS IS ENDING SOON, GET SERIOUS WITH RUNNING THE AFFAIRS OF THIS COUNTRY, SHAA!!!!!!!

  26. William Banda is an innocent man and i don’t see why he is being persecuted. Its just because he was MMD that he now finds himself in court. If the PF thugs who tore into his home and beat up his workers are free to break the law then all is equal and Banda should be free. We should not be selectively prosecuting people based on their party affiliation and if Banda is guilty of violence so too are the PF thugs.Jail them too.

  27. WAHES OF SIN IS DEATH. William Banda to go. Like it or not he is a walking breathing corpse. The people he did bad things to are waiting for him. Unless he wont live in zambia, he is destined for death – period.

Banda has a death penalty on him already. The court can let him go if they want but his fate is waiting around the corner. Freed or Not he will be cornered and punished. For the Wages of sin is DEATH.

  29. LETTER HERE ARE WRITEN BY SAME PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO DO. THEY WENT ABROAD UKUYA KOLOPA. SO NO PROPER JOBS ONLY UBUSHILU. BUNGA BUNGA FOR WHAT ULI CHIPUBA

  30. THEY WANT TO CAGE WILLIAM, WAT ABOUT JUDGE NGOMA? DOUBLE STANDARDS, THEY WILL REAP WHAT THEY SAW ACCORDING TO THE BOOK:)>-

  31. Banda’s smile is mischevious for an innocent elderly person whose house and property was extensively damaged. Even the manner he was whisked from the Chipata guest house to the police station does not deserve a wide smile from William Banda, if at all he is innocent. To me, his smile is trivialising whatever he has undergone, which to an average citizen is a loss worth a lifetime. If he seems not to care for such a loss and embarrasing treatment, then he obtained his property through corruption and used to ‘thug’ behaviour.

  32. William got UNIP out of power with brutal tactics. He came back to MMD and got them out of power. Now he’s calling on all to support PF, hoping to be invited in and then working to get them out of power. Is there something to learn from our politics? The man knows nothing but brutality. And he is MMD Provincial Chairman, he even votes!

  33. I feel sorry for him because insansa shinya ubulanda tepapa nomba kakutalala mune. most of the foreigners like taking advantage  of  our country by mistreating the people of zambia.

  34. I do consider all of the concepts you have presented to your post. They’re very convincing and can certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too short for starters. May just you please lengthen them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.
