NFCA Mining in Chambishi re-instates the fired workers

Share

The 2 000 workers who were dismissed at NFCA Mining Plc in Chambishi on the Copperbelt have been reinstated. NFCA mining Chief Executive Officer Wang Chunlai has confirmed the development to ZNBC News in Kitwe.

He says eighty five percent of the workers have since resumed work. Mr Wang says production was expected to resume this Friday.

And a check by ZNBC news at the plant found workers collecting the forms from the main gate which the company has provided for the purpose of screening. Mr Wang says the summary dismissal letters were meant for employees who were threatening others who were willing to work.

He says the forty eight hours ultimatum given to the workers has not elapsed and employees willing to resume work should do so. Mr Wang however says the screening exercise will continue so that all the trouble shooters are disciplined in accordance with the company disciplinary code of conduct.

  1. shame indeed. We are to see more things. Zambian learn to work hard and earn what you deserve. Rioting etc will not help you. Here in the US if you do not work you do not get your pay. We have to have two or three jobs just increase our income. lets wait and see if this govt will solve all these imaging labour dis[putes

  2. GM you are very foolish no wonder you are doing so many jobs to survive.my dear here in zambia as zambians we don’t need to do so many jobs just to pay rent.just come back and be a cleaner at uth so that we give you a flat.you are a slave.who told you having too many jobs is hard working fool.better come back because you have no dignity.you can’t even send your relatives even 200 dollars what more buying an air ticket.i predict you will die in the US because you can’t afford a ticket back home.

  3. sorry No 2 i have four houses in zambia and two cars. what i earn every month a internet broker like you will never get it. Thats why you find commenting with a language like “foolish” to be a right thing. Please take time and look into your self. You are a big hole and empty gallon. we need developmental discussions. shame on you

    • GM dont worry with poor cadres like Joe Pa.I wonder what job he does. These are cadres who dance at airports for Heads of State. From his attacks its easy to tell that he must be a loser.Enjoy what you are doing in the States and keep on investing in Zambia.

  4. That is the Chinese way of handling striking workers.
Fire all of them and whoever wants to be re-instated must be willing to start work immediately.
Half a month was too much of striking, the company must have made much loss, and there are major implications to the economy, which should not be allowed.

  5. very clever chinese managers…and now the miners have seen the reality…they will no longer stage outrageous protests because the chinese have proven that they’re ready to take stern action where sata is not

  6. this GM is as thick as two short planks ‘we’re screening ‘ lol…employ HR and PR personnel to sort ya shite out!

  7. Taught a lesson these chaps u don’t treat a company kwati yaba mbuya wobe stupid chaps nw look at them begging for their jobs!pathetic!

  8. Illegal strikes are ilegal anywhere. It si too bad that wages and conditions are not good enough but grievances should be handled via proper channels. That is just the way it is.

  9. Whether 90 days or not people should follow labor laws but anyway its nice that people have been returned. As workers even if our Presido is in power we should learn to be patient and make resonable requests.

  10. Good development but workers should continue fighting for good wages and salaries. Let this muchncholi pay workers a good salary period.

  11. GM go back home so soon and i will employ you at my new Garden Court Leisure Bay in Siavonga. You are the people i m looking for because it looks like you are slaves in foreign countries when you are supposed to be enjoying like us here in SA.

  12. What GM did not state is that what he does to earn more money, even some nationals of that country do. In general, don’t the majority of our people envy the economic status of “white people”? Well, GM is telling you that they work very hard and sweat for it. He is smart enough to have learnt the trick, and now he has four houses in Zambia. How many shacks do his critics own in Zambia?

  13. “……….will continue so that all the trouble shooters are disciplined in accordance with the company disciplinary code of conduct.”

ZNBC please..did you mean troublemakers or troubleshooters cos to troubleshoot is to solve a problem proactively.Does it mean the problem solvers(troubleshooters) will be punished for doing a good job?

  14. Workers were given 48 hours to resume work which means even the company knows that it’s illegal to announce salaries which you can not pay. Those guys are hard workers. If anyone think that they want money without work, he must be in self deceiption. Any one who have been underground can support this. Please those who live in glass houses do’nt throw stones.

  15. you see these guys are making our lives very difficult. we mae alot of money for these fools and yet we get changes after they get their shares.my fellow zambians we have been exploited for so many years but not this time.stand up for what is right.i thank all the guys who stood and staged the tooling. NEXT SHOULD BE BARLOWORLD EQUIPMENT WHO MAKING WORKERS SICK.

  16. Employees at the Chinese company NFCA thought that RB and his MMD government were so weak and probably receiving bribes from the Choncholiz.Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT?Sata and his government have failed to be tough.Choncholiz are still making the RULES.The GOLDEN RULE: HE WHO HAS GOLD MAKES THE RULES……..lol.Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.DONT KUBEBA!!!The honeymoon in over. The gap between the rich and the poor will grow even wider.Believe you me.Sata’s government?I cant believe it.

  17. Next time these NFCA employees go on strike,Sata will command the Commandos,”Baiche KABAPONONENI ba shimaini”.Sata is now protecting the Chinese and not the poor Zambians who voted for him.HE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.Twalachula bakamba.Babipa situ.2016 patali.Yabaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
