Fordson Kabole has complained that someone has stolen his thunder at Power Dynamos this season.
Last month Lusaka Times Sports carried a story quoting sources on the status of who was duly the secret to Power success in the 2011 season.
On Tuesday, Fordson Kabole revealed all.
We had reported that Kabole and not Beston Chambeshi has been in charge since April but the report was dismissed as mare uninformed speculation.
However, Kabole who rarely gives long interviews confirmed that he was the architect of Power’s success this season.
“This team has been coached by me since April. OK, you know what happened at the beginning of the season there were some sort of riots so that when we decided that now I take over coach,” the soft spoken Kabole said.
At that point, Chambeshi had collect just 8 points from six games in charge at the start of the season.
“Though I do not go on the bench I sent the young man (Beston) on the bench. There is no change in anything. In training I am the one who has been coaching the team since April,” the media shy coach said.
Asked how he would feel if the 2011 coach of the year award was handed to Chambeshi on face value, Kabole said: “If you say he is the coach of the year it is up to you.
“If I sit on the bench what he is going to do? I have kept him on the bench.
“He is a senior coach to whom is he going to offer assistance because am a senior coach and he is a senior coach so how does a senior coach assist another senior coach?”
This weekend, Power face Konkola Blades in the final of the Barclays Cup at Arthur Davies Stadium seeking a league and Cup double.
Meanwhile, Kabole insists that he has no hard feelings against Chambeshi under the circumstances.
However, between Tuesdays revealations and Saturdays final, the plot simmers before boiling on December 3 when the divided house of Yellow and Red troop into Arthur Davies.
If it is not broken why fix it?Whatever the secret of Power’s success the team should not have interfered with the coaching bench.
they say ‘success has many children’
claiming credit when its not yet due.ba Kabole why throw those tantrums on someone you consider a friend. sour grapes indeed
When “Quick silver” was being hammered by power supporters in Ndola after the Power /Kalewa game you never called the supporters to come for but today you want to claim success! Forget ba Kabole ama Be yalibomba elo ebo twaishiba ifwe bonse. Iyo mulelanda nibola yamuchani!
This is of a tipical Zambian, acting of foolish and try to put another guy down for the benefit of his pocket and job sercurity. All he need to do is to shy out from calling out another coach in public. There should be a best way to answer some quiz from the media than calling out another coach, let Beston get credit but if he was or not coaching the team why keep him on the beach as a coach and when Power were losing the games it was Chambeshi’s team and they have won the league it’s KABOLE’S. Kabole man up man!!
`i have watched Power on almost all home and some away games,Beston has been the man on the bench even when we were losing.its absurd to read about Kabole claiming the credit even before we beat Konkola on saturday. As an ardent supporter and follower of the champions, the advice to Fordson, muleikalafye ba shikulu, ifyabupuba ukokwine, dont spoil our party.remember if we lose on saturday, tawakafume muchibansa.management please, bring this rote to an end
It’s so sad to learn that Mr. Fordson Kabole has decided to come out now after seeing that Power Dynamos has won the league and is on the verge of winning the Barclays cup. I can assure you my fellow country men, had Power not won the league Ba Fordson wouldn’t have been heard any where. It’s Chambeshi all the way.
Power my home team!
Frodson KaBOLE WAS THE TECHNICAL ADVISOR,so Ba Kabole a technical advisor is not a coach. In this case Beston was the coach even if he was not officially appointed but as long as he sat on the bench and gave intructions to the boys on the pitch. We dont know Kabole’s decision not to sit on the bench for 24 games
I think Kabole was on leave. In this case let Chambeshi grab the coach of the year.Thing is that we want managemnt to make things clear on their positions Kabole and Chambeshi.Above all bravo Chambeshi,Munkonje, and Mwamba Martin
Thanks for the good writeup. It in fact was a entertainment account it. Look complicated to far delivered agreeable from you! However, how could we be in contact?
