Government has set its demand if they are to meet Herve Renard’s Salary.
Sports minister Fackson Shamenda repeated in a ministerial statement delivered on Manda Hill on Tuesday that Faz should now serious deal with the National Sports Council of Zambia.
And Shamenda also repeated in Parliament that Faz’s handling of Dario Bonetti’s dismissal did not please Government.
“’If the government is to meet the emoluments of the coach then therefore all parties must come to the table and discuss and agree,” Shamenda said.
“Sports is administered by National Sports Council therefore (it) must be involved in the running of the game, the current constitution recognizes this.”
Shamenda said that Governament also believed Faz should have hired a capable local coach in the interim until after the Africa Cup after Bonetti’s sacking.
Bonetti was sacked 48 hours after he guided Zambia to the 2012 Africa Cup tournament following a 0-0 draw against Libya in Chingola on October 8.
Scruffy ndevu man seem to talking sense. NSC has been sleeping for just too long. Its time they started working. Why keep Governmnet too busy over losing and losing and never a major cup in years when we have pressing issues at hand. Football te-everything. Let smaller boys deal with it. I can’t see myself seeing the whole ndevu man discussing mpapa in a workshop setup. Learn to delegate such smaller issues like football. I end here!
Does anything ever go right in Zambia?Mushota could be right ka!
What a mess! I support Hon. Shamenda, but really, all this quagmire when we should be busy preparing for AFCON with a fully committed coach? KAYA!
Don’t just give that useless FAZ committee a blank cheque, let them show you their objectives and targets for next 2 years including this African Cup, let them also tell you what they need so that they can support themselves…buff0on RB spoiled these chaps!!
I am not an ardent supporter of the PF government but on this stance I agree with the minister. It is time FAZ became accountable to someone instead of being run like a husband and wife bedroom business. History shows that with African football time always tells how far such rhetoric is bound to go.
Local coach? forget. we don’t have anyone capablle of winninng AFCON. we could have seen them during club championships. But Renaard was the wrong foreign choice. And FAZ should fund their coaches. Football is an industrry that can generate its own funds
Renard was the right choice given the short notice before the AFCON and he is already familiar with the players. Besides, he has a good record in two major tournaments. I believe he will take Zambia to at least the quarter finals or better. Right now I don’t think we have a local coach capable of taking us to higher heights like the Godfrey Chitalus and Alex Cholas of yesterday.
I agree a number of bloggers on the govt stance. Galu is taking FAZ like its his family & friends property. He needs to resign together with his fellow *****s. They have shown that they have absolutely nothing to convince Zambia that they can run the country’s #1 sport. Galu is just some brief case businessman or rather conman.Let him take his business elsewhere. He has nothing to offer Zambia.
Right on Hon Minister! I am waiting for FAZ’s reaction to the conditions advanced
Thank you Mr Minister. It is high time we started following the letter of the law. For far too long we have a law that is always cast aside when crunch time comes. This is not unique to Zambia; it is endemic in the developing world where oversight is very weak in reigning in rogue authorities.
Renard should not have been hired, after he walked out on us!! I agree Kalu and his team have been most incompetent and are responsible for the deplorable state of our football.
@ugly truth….you are now becoming a part of Mushota …….we are all anti that bitch…she doesnt say anything for the good of the country….try to be objective and support what is right….shaaaaa.
those involved in the elections should widden their ears not legs. the clubs should be brainy to see this Galu chap. kick the chap out of FAZ in March 2012. dont be mislead by the 2pin he going to give you. theres only one solution here kick the Galu out of FAZ in march. dont be used to complaining when a solution with you.
Being Rice eater does not make you an automatic rice farmer. So Galu is is not an automatic football administrator just because he played football. When did he acquire administrative skills?
FAZ is a mess!
Kolokombwa, whitsle ee galu, stun your call
FAZ has done its bad things and I totally agree with most of you guyz, but the Minister of sport should be aware that the mess has already been done and if we are not careful as a nation we will be having two coaches who would have wrongfully been dismissed. Already Bonneti’s case is with FIFA and now we want to add Renard on the list people to give K8 billion. Shamenda should not cry over spilled milk, but instead should just learn to accept the return of Renard. Personally I feel Renard is the right man for the job and I see no Local coach who is better than the current coach. If we really had able local coaches, Bonneti shouldn’t have been let to spoil Zambia’s system of play. Lets appreciate Renard come on guyz.
MULETASHA BA MUMBWE MULI FIMO-FIMO.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THAT THE CURRENT COACH DELIVERS AND IN MY OPINION RENARD IS BETTER PLACED TO SUCCEED. HOW HE LEFT IS NOT IMPORTANT FOR NOW. YOU CAN REST BE ASSURED THAT EVEN MOURINHO WOULD BE SACKED FOR POOR RESULTS IF HE WERE TO COACH ZAMBIA. HERVE REALLY DOES SEEM TO UNDERSTAND OUR FOOTBALLING NEEDS SOMEHOW
I do not agree with the Honourable minister on hiring a local coach, if we thinking in those lines, let us now, attach somebody to understudy the current coach and say four years from now takeover from him. While we may not agree with FAZ over the Bonnet issue, the man had to go for under performence, can we loss 2 black to Zimbabwe.
Ba LT I am number 20, I am in Zambia not south Africa, if you not happy and proud to in Zambia do not injure others by the fact flag, how can I be in S. Africa where whenever the loss a much the talk about age, as if given a chance that their bafabafana can be Brazil under 20
Proudly Zambian, chaisa boy oh sorry, am a man now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imwe ba Gumu Gumu at #8, don’t talk like a dick head….if your family is full of galus don’t think everyone is. Bonetti was not FAZ’s choice and you know RB’s sons imposed him on the Zambians and from the very start he was a disaster!! Renard has done more work and discovered new players in his 1 month stint with the team than Bonnetti would have ever done in 5 years…FAZ needs to consult yes, but the agenda for football in Zed is driven by FAZ and not NSCZ.
Come on na imwe. We have only a couple of weeks to the AFCON. Let’s focus on what we need to do to bring the cup home! To leave matters of finances for the team in suspense at this stage is rather sad. The absence of the so-called continental giants from the AFCON should be an incentive- there is a very strong possibility that the dream could finally come true in 2012. Think of how you must feel if you were a player or coach working at it and negativity just grows around you. Let’s work together bane! Zambians have been known to be very strong when united – remember 1974,1994! 1996 it was unity of purpose that did it. _ I rest my case
If Zambia had gone with Bonetti to AFCON it would have been Gabon disaster, only this time our boys would have come back alive. Who would have been blamed for that, NSCZ or FAZ???Think ba pungwa imwe.
This is the same Shamenda who a week ago said that gvt will not pay Renard. What’s he up now??? Renard during his first time inchanrge, he was despised, now highly respected :d
Uwakwisano # 22& 24
Galu has become big headed because of shit loving ass kissers like you. Nobody doubts his achievements as player. Where it comes to administration, he is a misfit. That’s why his shikulu, Sepp Blatter is also under pressure, birds of the same feathers. Let him leave FAZ admin. to credible people and I be the first one to drop the G and put back the K in his name. Till then he is Galu, live with it.
