Zambia will be without any of the South African based players for the December 18 friendly away to Angola.
Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza said coach Herve Renard will only use players from the 25-man list unveiled on Monday that does not include South African-based players and Emmanuel Mayuka of Swiss side Young Boys.
Mwanza said the group will only join camp in the second phase of training camp in South Africa after Christmas when Zambia steps up preparations for the Africa Cup.
Renard’s provisional team that goes into camp in Luaska on Tuesday to begin a two-week home training camp will have 10 foreign-based players.
Dominating the team are six players from TP Mazembe led by midfielder Rainford Kalaba.
The Chinese based duo of Christopher Katongo and James Chamanga and Jonas Sakuwaha of El Merreikh in Sudan are the foreign-based players who will report to camp this week.
Russian-based midfielder Chisamba Lungu is the only European based player who will join the team for now.
And three Under-20 players namely Reynold Kampamba, Evans Kangwa and Bruce Musakanya are expected to join the team at the end of their Cosafa Youth Championship commitments in Botswana.

Mwela onse!! Chipolopolo all the way!
Infuse new blood so that they competition
Becauze there are a lot of grey areaz in the way the HR waz enganged, FAZ must alwayz find reazon to shield and explain the absence of the coach from the media. What a shame!
Copper Bullets.
NICE. its time we got rid of old rusted players for new energetic blood.
Chipolopolo iyeeeee .Leka tabalange ba kamunga andala na lisholi matasi
Go chipolopolo Go.
I think experience will be required at the competition.Carrying players who never tested the Africa cup qualifiers is very dangerious. How can the players who qualified Zambia to the Africa cup be dropped? If they are not good enough, how come we ve qualified?I believe in climbing a tree from the bottom not the top.Young players are good but not strong enough to face the likes of Senegal,Ghana,Ivory Coast etc.Give the young boys a chance to play more competitive games such as South African League,Africa cup qualifiers etc not MTN Faz Premier League or beating India,no!For me,Zambia has had one friendly against Nigeria. The second friendly is the one coming against Angola.
@Mr Right, personally I feel there is perfect way to prepare a team. What the coach is doing might help in earthing a germ for Zambia, others too deserve a chance.Zambia and Botswana will represent the region with distinction. Can some1 please send me a Zambian jersey to wear on soccer Fridays
Good that the coach is casting the net wider. But assessing a player in one friendly may be dangerous. We have to consider the issue of consistency. And the best to achieve this is to follow the player’s record from the clubs they play for. Some are having a ‘drought’ and no way they can improve by Jan.The likes of Evans Kangwa,Sakuwaha,Rainford are highly favoured by this view.Hope the coach will not get confused of which players to select.Zambia is so rich such that we can have 3 teams for copper bullets.Guys,I feel so uncomfortable to use ‘Chipolopolo.’Can someone explain what it means-napapata.
