Kalusha Bwalya has said Dario Bonetti failed to match the legacy he inherited from Herve Renard.
Kalusha told Soccer Africa programme on SuperSport that Bonetti did not respect Faz and instead only took orders from State House from ex-president Rupiah Banda.
“I don’t think we had the coach that would take us to another level,” Kalusha said.
“I think that most of the other people had their own doubts about the qualifications of Bonetti and his technical know-how. I think that he faulted in key areas for Zambia.
“He was inheriting a team that had been well trained and a lot of people were sad to see Herve Renard leave for greener pastures but his contract was coming to an end and also maybe I would say he had person reasons.”
Kalusha added that Faz was right to fire Bonetti despite qualifying the team to the Africa Cup finals to be Co Hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
“And It was not the Football Association of Zambia that recruited Bonetti, so he was just handed to us as the coach and in many ways did not respond to our command,”Kalusha said.
“You know he respected command from a higher source which I don’t think is a good working relationship.”
Actually, the team went ‘down; when Kalusha took over at FAZ! It has even continued to go down with Kalusha. Unless ‘Blattusha’ is removed, we will continue to blatter!

Many pipo who worked in MMD Govt. who spilled beans after PF took office were fired, A Good leader MUST resign if higher offices press for wrong things , like LPM in Kafupi Govt. did, MTSRP. Renard is a good coach that all zambians appriciate, Kalu shud stop influencing him on which professionals should be called for national duties, let the boy do the Job without influence.

Kalusha has never impressed me in my life. Not that he has ever needed to impress me, I don’t need that. However, I’m almost mildly impressed now to see the way he is fighting for his survival. It is amazing how people can draw on their last resource to defend their source of livelihood. I mean, with all his weaknesses, you have got to give it to him. At last Kalusha is fighting for survival and I think he is not doing too badly. The only problem is that I wish he was fighting as much for Zambia’s glory – may be we would have been winning every Africa Cup!! This is utterly rich coming from the President of FAZ and former captain of KK 11…so this chap Kalu was more than happy to let Dario Bonneti stay put in irrespective of his Professional limitations in the name of self preservation. It just reinforces my point on Kalu he is USELESS and he should be given the sack at the next given opportunity irrespective of how the boys perform at the Africa Cup.

A lot these people who submit comments are very ignorant about issues. These are the so called future leaders. They are just busy insulting and not making genuine contributions. Iwe chi #10, firstly, how old are you? As for me, I dont see any talent that can compete at international levels as at now. Those of us who were born in the 60s have seen talent. There is no physic in the Zambia team which you can compare to , Lucky Msiska, Debby Makinka, Ashoes Melu, Efford Chabala, Estone Mulenga, Whiteson Changwe, Chomba, Richard Mwaza to mention but a few. Look at the present Zambia team: defenders, midfielder, strikers, save for Beef Mbesuma who can not even run!!! So dont blame Kalusha or the coach. We dont have players, full Stop!!
