Faz is hoping to add Kenya and Namibia to their friendly match program in South Africa before Zambia heads to the Africa Cup.
Faz is talking to the Namibian and Kenya FA’s about playing them this weekend or next week.
“We have dates of January 7 and 14 free,” said Faz general secretary George Kasenegle.
Zambia already has one friendly secured against South Africa on January 11 at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.
Meanwhile, a friendly against Kenya is a bit tricky as the Harambee Stars will be away West Africa on January 14.
Kenya will be in Dakar to play a friendly against Senegal away.
Senegal invited Kenya because they believe the Harambee Stars playing style is similar to Zambia’s whom they face in the two sides opening Group A game on January 21 in Bata, Equatorial Guinea.
The development means Namibia are looking like favorites to face Zambia on one of the two open friendly dates before the team leaves its Johannesburg camp where they have been since December 27 for Bata on January 18.
zambias current form does not match up with senagal demba ba and equatorial Gs or Libya its a tough one for us this CAF tournament.

Our planning is tricky so late kaya!
Administration education is a must when it comes to these matters…of which planning in due time is at its midst, FAZ the tournment is this month and you knew about it ages ago…you are a bunch of incompetent fellows…period.
Too late.
We should have arranged proper friendly matches before heading to Afcon. Playing against a west African team as well as one from the north would really have helped as a lot, than having counting on Namibia as well as Kenya. What are we going to get from these teams, hence we play the same kind of football. Nigeria and Angola friendlies were high profile matches. I am not weighing down our lads, but i am stressing the need to play earlier as well as having a back up!
