Zambia will play a friendly against Namibia next week in Johannesburg.
The game will be played on January 14 at a venue to be announced by Faz.
That friendly will come just three days after Zambia play South Africa in another warmup at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
And Faz vice president Boniface Mwamelo said Football House has approached Sierra Leone about playing another friendly game before traveling to the Africa Cup.
Meanwhile, Zambia tomorrow face Jomo Cosmos in a training game in Johannesburg.
Zambia who set up training camp in Johannesburg are due to leave for Equitorial Guinea on January 18 ahead of their opening Group A game againt Senegal on January 21 in Bata.
Good!!!!!!
playing namibia.am tired of these neibhouring country teams. i would rather calling power dynamos and red arrows if so.
Why do we play with amakula?? Nigeria, Egypt and Cameroun didn’t qualify to the Africa Cup. They would be good sparring partners for us! Nigeria wacked us!!Â
Organizers of these friendly games are very myopic. Everybody knew that we had qualified for afcon and some could have started organising sound teams/countries like egypt,togo and so on.now we are left to play teams that are unranked. Rubish
In modern football success does not come by chance. Teams that prepare well and have the necessary resources are more likely to go further than those that do not. I will be very surprised if this team goes very far. Then again I am ready to be proved wrong and will celebrate with everyone else if they do.Â
@3 Mbewe
Their players are abroad playing in competitive leagues just because the didn’t qualify doesn’t mean they are sitting a home on their hands…unless you want to play their youth national teams!!
This chap Boniface Mwamelo is now panick stations this is what happens when you don’t PLAN, PLAN desperation creeps in…next you will telephoning me to arrange a warm-up for the boys with my drinking pals…you play these useless teams and they will injure your players.Â
@Jay Jay
Even their youth teams can wack us!!
 Namibia is in training as they still have their case coming up and depending on the outcome they mightbe at the AFCON 2012. They are definitely better than Jomo Cosmos and better than the DEPLETED South Africa, Zambia will meet on the 11th.
but y not play ghana..? they r in south africa with same raw deal from bafana bafana like zambia ..it does not really matter if will play them now or during the world cup 2014 qualifiers..? y will that be an issue..? silly football administrators..unless ghana is still pissed off with the london misfortunes when they ended up playing a make shift zambia team. this is time kalu should make up for that and i don’t think the ghana side would be bothered playing zambia now and during the world cup qualifiers..its just football..not war like egypt and algeria. besides, we dont even know..maybe its sudan who will make it out of the group.
