Zambia Ditch Bata Hotel

Share

The Zambia national team has changed their official team hotel barely 24 hours after arriving in Equatorial Guinea for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Both players and official aired their dissatisfaction with the quality of the hotel allocated to them in Bata.

The team complained about a lack of water when they landed in Bata late on Wednesday evening after connecting from Malabo to Bata an official Africa Cup flight.

The players were hit again after a light workout at incomplete Machanda stadium when they found no water for their showers.

Zambia dumped the hotel after eating their dinner on Thursday evening for an alternative hotel in Bata.

Herve Renard’s team face Senegal on Saturday in their opening Group A match at the Estadio de Bata in a 23:00 kicko

The govt has nothing to do with football or the Africa cup, you *****!!
Read the Fifa rules maybe you will have an idea about football.

  2. #The only fool here what is the connection to between your comment and the news above… who gave u the password of that computer?? please let elders use it…

  3. #1 What do the arrangements have to do with Sata? The logistics should have been finalised way before even PF came into power. I would put the blame squarely on the management at Football house.

  4. E. Guinea is extremely poor country, City of Bata can be compared to Mongu of Zambia (never been to Mongu). Just accept the decision of the Zambian team, they need water, but I can advice them to spend evening at the beach, and just wash up in fresh bottled water at hotel.
This shouldn’t even be reported to NEGATIVE Zambians, I don’t know what makes them so negative human-kinds.

    • That country is extremely rich with an extremely greed family ruling it! The son to the president has offered their national team 1000 000 US dollars if the beat Libya! They have huge resources of oil and can easily be a gem of a country if not of their ‘first family’.

  5. #4 you see even before I clicked “submit” that # 4 Shaka is already blaming FAZ. Should FAZ & PF go and develope the city of Bata in that Equatorial Forest?

  6. Good move FAZ expect only the best for our boys these things affect performance of the pitch….Equatorial Guinea is no poor country for your information its an oil rich little country, this is a country that has promised its national team $1m to beat Libya national team and their president is among the wealthiest corrupt presidents in Africa and best friends with uncle Bob in Zimbabwe, remember that the US government seized $70m (£44m) assets belonging to the son of the president of Equatorial Guinea.

  7. No blame on the hosts only negativity heaped on poor Sata & Kalu, no matter how remotely they are connected to the problem. This pathological hatred is really scary—-but I guess this is a sad Zambian trait nowadays.

E/Guinea accepted the opportunity and challenge that comes with hosting a big tournament such as AFCON and the least one expects is facilities of reasonable standards. What have they been doing the past two or so years to prepare for the tournament? And I am sure CAF officials inspected these facilities, so one wonders how they passed inspections and certification for the AFCON—African standards, right? And some buffoons have the nerve to blame Sata and FAZ for it. Shallow and plain s.t.u.p.i.d really. Grow up people, b4 hate eats you up!

  8. – too bad for the boys, thats not good really. Best wishes to them as they demolish Senegal on sat.!!!

    #7 Jay Jay,
U speak like a kid (atleast to me). Do u measure the countries “richness” by the amount of riches the president has stolen? or how much the president’s son has? or how much the national team have been promised ‘after beating Libya’? uli kapuba. E.guinea is one of the riches per capita (thanks to its small population), but like in all African countries the wealth is unevenly distrubuted, with more than 70%of pop. living under povety line (source:wikipedia).

  9. @11 Sir Simunyola, No is the answer to your questions…what I’m trying to clarify or put across here is that Guinea is not just some out post in the jungle, I know its sounds simplistic at least you get the picture and you don’t need wikipedia for that information.

  10. Iwe pa number 1 go and sleep forever. If u don’t understand anything don’t yap just die. Chipolopolo this must inspire you Equatorial Guinea must be massacred!

  11. Number 1 for real what is the connection between Sata and the topic here? Please get your life straight, I think you are messed up.

  12. I reverse my comment, Bata is beautiful mwe, disadvantage is low population. That beautiful stadium may not be full. And that we have 7 people in the team
    who speak some french.

  13. Iwe #1 ndiwe Dickson Jere or HH? Your hatred for Sata will swallow you…LOL. The hotel was below basic standards period! I am apolitical but I think you guys need to appreciate what this govt is doing for you. Don’t throw your muck on sbdy who is doing his best to ensure your belly is always full. Just chill. Rupiah is gone & HH will never rule…there are plenty of alternatives to Sata. Let us just find them & throw them in!

  14. Some of you just comment irrelevant things,How is his Excellence Mr C.Michael Sata involved in this matter???????????? It’s the hosts that to blame not the Zambian Government…

    Go Chipolo-Polo boys\:d/\:d/\:d/\:d/

  15. Nostradamus

With a GDP of US$24 billion and a population that can fit in only one pocket of your jacket, (670, 000) it scarcely qualifies as a poor country. It in point of fact Africa’s riches country. But of course the ruling family, friends and bootlickers are the only ones enjoying their country’s immense wealthy.

  16. @Bricklayer you are an imbescile! Have ever been to school? This is a CAF tornament, i think u so dull and never travelled before! umwana ashenda atasha nina ukunaya ubwali!

  17. FAZ is and will always be inept in administrative issues. Hello, thats why we have what we call advance parties. Definitey these are deliberate moves by Equitorail G. to frustrate opponents.

  18. I hope the host country iz not just playing mind gamez, but then we shouldn’t be so much of cry-babiez. Didn’t we know about the Bata Hotel well in advance to have sent emiseriez to check? The next we will complain about is the lack of correct football boots for wheather in Equatorial Guinea.

  19. No one has said anything about state of hotel only complaint water ,which can happen to any developng nation.pls comment constractively.

  20. You cant expect 5 star hotels there but we do expect a 5 star performancy tomorrow!By the way did they go to the Gabonese coast to link up with the spirits of fallen squad of 1993?If not then they have it tough. Its a fact of life.Good luck though.GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  21. Mr. Critix and other FAZ snipers: no advance party will know that water won’t be available in this or that hotel on January 17

  22. Chipolopolo is a bullet Go zambia Go. And if we wont win this cup then we are just westing our money it is better even to stop playing for 3 years only training

  23. Believe it or not , ive got feeling we will win the cup. check this out.

    – when the heroes of 1993 died they were going for world cup qualifier in senegal and we will be playing SENEGAL.

    – We will be playing in Ga
bon where the heroes perished if we qualify for the semi finals.

Is it mere coincidence or am just being superstitious? We will wait and see!!!!

  24. #1, stick to Bricklaying, and hopefully other bricklayers will kick you out of the profession because you are a disgrace.

    Do you even follow football?

  25. Fellow countrypersons. complaining and criticizing on every matter is no progress. Its a contagious thing to always see negative in every issue.  Why cant you find a positive thing to say that well they lack the water facility and booked out period. They have a choice to stay or to leave to another better hotel. No one is to blame here neither the president nor the FAZ officials.

Offcourse even if they slept on sofas if they are determined they can still win. I hope that will not be the reasons for bad performance. I strongly detest excuses being in football requires a strong state of mind to withstand set backs save the mourning to the nursery kids all we are waiting to see are results. We are not there to fight corruption but to win leave corruption to law enforcing bodies.

  26. Talking corruption has become common even where its not needed. we are good at find something to hide our bad performance in. Football is a game of mind i hope they prepared for that. Going for a big tournament like ACON you dont expect presidential treatment especially if you are the opponents of the host country. there is more to lack of water, we will hear of lack of food, insults, spiting at them so as to lower their morale. civilian mind should be packed that is more less like war. In some countries they even expose opponents to bad weather or bad air conditioning so as to disturbe their body system wining a cup game is strategic. Keep mourning.

  27. Its foolishness to talk about the same thing in every thing. some people think talking against sata in everything saves the purpose. i dont like him that much but i choose where to talk against him. learn to accept reality after voting accept the result keep advising that complaing. My friend asked me whether sata was a football coach or football president of my country. i was knocked down in laughter due to his innocence from his question. learn to respect HE the president if you can kill your self then.  In short be positive especially # 1, 9, 21,25 and #29 you need to shape up your thinking to that which is befitting a positive person.

  28. # 1…get a life. And guys well done for ignoring Analysis Corner. Some men are still in their dipers.Attention seeking all the time. You two need to go for some nappy change or rather brain changing.

  29. First of all, Sata has nothing to do with the Hotel so before you state have your facts right and be able to back up your claim. Anyway, Great to see the Team has shifted to a better Hotel. Staying at so so Hotel is insane to begin anyway the Players and coaching stuff deserve great accomodations. Good luck Boys take one game at a time you will do well you have the exprience, you know what it takes.

  30. #1 Bricklayer ulichipuba maningi, what is the connection between a hotel without H2O in Bata and President Sata? Mwaba mu USA but still showing bu Kaponya, shame on u.

  31. I am sure the problem here is that some venues and facilities have not been completed in time for the tournament. I remember watching a game between Brazil and Gabon, a few months ago, at the start of which the lights went out in the stadium. The game was delayed for about 20 minutes while engineers tried to switch on the lights. This was in one of the new stadiums.

  32. Thank you, I have recently been searching for info about this subject for a while and yours is the greatest I’ve found out so far. However, what about the bottom line? Are you certain about the supply?|What i don’t realize is actually how you’re no longer actually much more well-liked than you may be now. You’re so intelligent.
