Investrust Bank PLC has opened a ‘Goodwill’ bank account for the Zambia National Soccer Team dubbed ‘well played Chipolopolo’ in which soccer fans can deposit their contributions to acknowledge the team’s success at the ongoing AFCON.
Investrust Bank Public Relations Manager Ackim Mwale says the bank management was encouraged to provide a conduit to raise money for the team following Chipolopolo boys’ impressive semi final performance against tournament favourites Ghana.
Mwale says the money deposited in the said account will be given to the team when it comes back. He says those wishing to donate to the Chipolopolo boys can deposit in the ‘Well played Chipolopolo’ account number 11-07010145077-013 at any Investrust bank branch.
Mwale says the bank will go a step further by finding a way of encouraging high-level recognition of the players’ individual performance through collaboration with various corporate companies and personal customers.

Wonderful iniative. Will it be given to to the boys as cash?
What is the starting donation from Investrust?
Nice!!!!
Yes this is a good. How will the public know what has been collected and given out. We need to know the procedures. In fact this money should be collected over a period of time say up to the monthend to allow poverty stricken Zambians to hold to a kwacha or two at the monthend.
Great idea! However, where money is involved I would trust the bank employees as far as I can throw them ( not very far).
Yes, but how much money have you the Bank given to the cause? Anyone could have opened such an account for them.

Noble idea, but how much has the bank put in as start up contribution? They must lead by example and get the “captive audience” to participate by setting the ball rolling!
This is good

Pointless handouts that’s FAZ’s job, if you want to help the National Team invest in football infrastructure. No wonder we don’t move forward…..
Why don’t these corporations have promotions like they do in the west…an example was with Producers Fosters Lager who were contributing a percentage to the Australian Olympic team for every X pints you buy….
Good idea
