Ex-Faz vice president Emmanuel Munaile says he will challenge Kalusha Bwalya for the Faz presidency at elective annual general meeting on March 31 in Kitwe.
Munaile told a press briefing at Chitah Lodge in Lusaka today that winning the Africa Cup has not taken away any problems in Faz.
“I have decided that I am going to contest in the forthcoming election for the big position of FAZ president and the reason for that is with the team that I am leading is that we need to bring change the way football is being run at the moment,” Munaile said.
Munaile said he promises to address the contentious subject of the proposed autonomous National Football League and to address funding for both teams and training in the lower league.
He also congratulated Zambia for winning the Africa Cup for the first time in its history.
“To a soccer fan it is right that they say that the current executive must continue because all they want is you to perform and the question I want to pose to you is that is winning the Africa Cup has it changed the problems that FAZ is currently going through or has been going through?” he said.
“The Africa Cup has been won truly but have we addressed the issues that brought about a lot of problems that we are all aware of before the Africa Cup I think it is critical that those challenges are addressed then we will say yes.
“But as things stand the Africa Cup is a good thing but it does not take away the problems that the football fraternity especially those in administration of football have been going through.”
Try brother but to be honest the timing seems to wrong for you. Nevertheless Kalu is the man of the moment.
Munaile baka munaya kuli Kalusha. The very that he is standing up against Kalusha shows that he lack BASIC wisdom, let alone convetional intellect. Munaile is a man who cannot even differentiate left from right, black from white! This man is very disappointing – an opportunist who thinks he can ride on other people’s success. You are the people that are driving Zambia backwards. Shame.
He thinks he will win by fluke like the way he won in malole in 2006, shame on you, opportunist!!!!!! You failed to perform as MP and you think you can perform as FAZ President, to hell with you.
Munayeni, as per his name. You are a let down of an *****. Im sure you are greatly missing your veep position dude.. You are tired man. Go rest or try farming
Amunaile muzazisebanya, just go back to malole munthu
So FAZ had unresolved problem despite winning the AFCON? That to me is a mark of a genius. Their organisational skill cant be questioned and why do you want to change that? Apart from claiming benefits which comes with the post, what new ideas do you have and tell us how you will resolve them!!! The way i see it is only a mental case can challenge Kalu and my humble advise is that PLEASE check in to the mental asylum for a serious examination.
No people, the man is within his rights.
Let him stand, and in this way enhance democracy in FAZ.
There is absolutely nothing wrong for anyone to stand against another person at polls.
yama just forget about it
Galu or sorry Kalu is a serious political engineer.Remember how he scattered the motion of no confidence? It dint even reach the meeting.
The guy managed to fight govt, kamanga and simata simata (iv always known this guy to be a troble maker even in church).
All am saying is munaile is wasting his time.By the time the agm comes the concillors will still be basking in the celebration of the cup. They wont vote with their heads!
Ndiye yamene bakamba ati wakumenya ukalibe kuyenda namu ring ndiye iyi!!! All the best Munaile thats Democracy…
Go go Munaile. Challenge this corrupt Galu. He is lucky to win the cup. He remains a corrupt Galu. Â
Fuu #7
And #9 too
Number one is right, the timing is wrong. The africa cup has wiped out all the negative thougts about kalu. The next africa cup is only 10 months away changing now is more risk. I would go remain with kalu.
Try you luck Munaile. But Kalusha will surely carry the day. Dream on mwandi. At this FAZ elections there will be no foolish returning officer to declare you winner instead of the real winner Kalusha as was the case in Malole. Dream on dream on deram on ……………………………
We are so hypnotized with dictators, tyrants and demagogues so much that someone expressing their right is frowned upon. Weep the scared country.
munaile you foolish footballer you think this is malole were u won because of the sleep of the returning officer try kalu and the transparent faz election.
This is good for democracy. However he is going to lose!! He was a brilliant player in his days
Munaile, you and Linos Makwaza have been second best on the pitch because you played on a team that had greatness. The only highlight you and Linos Makwaza had was that thunderous goal you played 1-2 to setup Makwaza for the score. Other that that you have had a tendency to disappear not only as a player but as a parliamentarian. Am just calling it as I see it. Don’t you think that Zambia wouldn’t want to go for a repeat or defend the Nations Cup? I pull the octopus Paul on Kalu. Am just sayin.
*than
Am not a councillor but with kalu zed football is safe eyes on the ball chabe .kalu is an example of courageous leadership in the face of jackals, wolves and hyenas.give us a break chitembeya and munaile and all ex faz members who resigned.whooooooa!! shemuna bane!!! shame!!!!!!
He resigned because he wanted the top post. Somehow I believe all the Kamanga confusion was propagated by him. Let him show us what he did as MP for the people?
munaile comes from which club ai, but achepa mwe i dont see him geting anything out of this, he is the Chama Chakomboka of football lol
It is a democracy. Let him make the election look legitimate by vying and losing.
They said RB could not be licked. Well, Sata is in State House. Leave the matter to the Councilors.
Opposition can bring fresh ideas. That’s the beauty of Democracy. Right or Wrong he may seem, Munaile has got the right to challenge Kalusha. He has the right to in a democracy. Nothing is cast in stone. I bet you Kalusha himself will be pleased with that. In a democracy everyone has right to stake their claim in a meaningful way. The new Zambia is a shining example of free speech and fair play. Let’s move forward and lead by example. I am a Zambian based in the UK for the last 25 years. I am impressed with the vibe around Zambia at the moment. It’s good to see.
Kalu was a better footballer than Munaile. so Kalu continues as FAZ president. Moreover, we have the AFCON under Kalu
Munaile please this is terrible timing, there is no one who can win against Kalusha, that’s just the fact. At this time ukulinganya amapuli na Kalu kuisebanya fye. There better things Munaile can do, such as …. damn can’t think of anything.
Munaile, *****Â
Munaile you just a useless opportunist,a big time failer with no ideas at all just like you never contributed any thing to write home of when you were Malole MP, you that type of people we don’t need in serious association like FAZ.Great Kalu all the way eyes on the ball, try Malole United or cote d”ivoire time worster.
i can see that we have a lot of dull peaple around who do not understand what democracy is, remember no one gave zambia a chance that they will win the AFCON including the same fuuz who are busy critisizing Munaile. what you think, is not what the councillors think, u wont be there to vote and not even your relatives will be there. so let the man stand and if he loses or wins its for the good of the game.
so all those who are busy insulting munaile, just grow up and face the reality, think outside the box and dont be content to you ka little mind.
If we won with the problems in FAZ, then give me the current FAZ everyday. Iwe Munaile we want the world cup now sha!
this dimwit shud concetrate on finishing his house adawise very soon he will be a distitute. ala ba mmd who were supporting u and chilupuya banda are gone. we dont need confusions, its eyes on the ball
Okay sir, go ahead that’s good for democracy, although you were chi coward by resigning your veep position in FAZ at a critical moment in our soccer history. I have neither respect nor time for those who nearly brought our soccer to its knees last year, you , kamanga and simaata that is who I mean. I am certain that if that nonsense had carried the day, we would not be celebrating AFCON today, or taught Drogba a lesson or two about Zambia :-).
ladies and gentlemen, even in a democracy you have to use your head. despite being within his rights, Munaile ‘s timing is wrong and how i wished he was using his head to think and realise that he is just wasting his resources. Kalu has all the chips on his side. The Govt, the AFCON, FIFA, the country’s goodwill, the man has just about everything you can think of on his side. Even Simataa and kamanga are on his side yet this munaile guy cant see that.
FAZ has problems! And they still won AFCON! Genuises must be running this organisation. Lets leave it at that
@Nostradamus u are the man. Pin point
“You shall judge them by their fruit”
