Lukala Joy Munalula, who goes by the stage name Lukala , is an 18 year
old Zambian singer and songwriter based in the UK.
Lukala would best describe her music as R&B with influences from
Gospel and Soul.
She began to sing at the age of 11 in church and in school plays.
Lukala, with the influence of her father has written and recorded
three single CD’s with both Gospel and R&B elements.
Currently Lukala is working on a mixtape which she hopes to promote
both in the UK and Zambia this year.

On youtube.com
She has a bright future and quite talented..
To you Mr/Miss/Mrs.editor your writing should be professional unlike us bloggers this statement of “recorded three single CD’s both Gospel and R&B” is out of this world.. I suggest “recorded
three single CD’s of which 1 is Gospel and the other 2 R&B or the other-way round”
Great talent… good on ya little girl! All the best!
she looks cute . good voice ,keep it up young lady
so she wrote that song????
Lukala we are so proud of you. The sky is the limit my dear. Always remember to aim high and listen to other experienced musicians works. Your Aunt and I love you. Bo Chris & Joy, job well done baane lwitumezi sha.
she’s ok, may need more vocal coaching though. She’s definitely better than that Jazz girl.
The stage name sounds a bit funky bukala
That stage name is awful. Â Please boNdate Joy Munalula help her change it! Â It is too close to Mukala (stray dog)!!
Lukala?? Or lukanyo?? Hmm pliz change the stage name girl otherwise u r doomed with zed funs. Otherwise nchinakalya akamwaice aka, bwaima.
lukala..or cikala..
Zambians are funny. The moment I heard the name, I felt uncomfortable and true to form, my discomfort was real as some comments have indicated. The girl should seriously consider re-branding herself for Zed as someone has indicated. Ma facts aya as some musician already sang or rapped before.
Congrats. However, you have to change your name. Something like LUKA or KALA.
She should change her name to Lukala milandu.
The background of the interview was not good for such a nice girl.It looks like the interview took place in NOT well looked after part of London.Lukala sing a Lozi songs too.Otherwise you have a good voice.
Ulelanda nga mwana, ka? Come back home and spearhead the revolution kwamungu. Your relatives are crying for secession.
Seriously, you have a good voice. Don’t give up on your dreams, young one.
No 2 Has made my day with his analysis pa Njobo. The Editor seems to have come from the age group of Impambwe. I cant listen the salt in the cow?? ehe ehe hehe eh
Go on girl. Make Zambia proud!Â
Great potential for the youngster. Quite talented.
I was unable to listen to her tune from here due to copyright complications. When I slotted in her name on Utube, the search engine spat out a Congolese singer going by the same name (Lukala Djino). I’m like hmmm… strange and unexpected things do happen on the internet!
My agony too.I ended watching the congolese dude.
And while I was on there (Utube) I also came accross a very attractive Zambian lady called Rungano Nyoni based in the UK with a short film entitled “Mwansa The Great” which featured at the London Film Festival in 2011.
Did LT already cover this success story? If yes, then I must have missed it… if not, then Mr. Editor, please get on with it! It’s a wonderful inspiration to aspiring artistes in the local film industry.
This chikala munalula , why pakamwa nipo benda?
going by most contributions, its easy to see that zambians are dirty minded and are solely focused on sex.
But sure… Ata what if that is the beautiful girls birthname concentrating on her talent she is very good keep working at is girl your going to get somewhere indeed!
great young lady with breaded hair noti vima weave.
My dream is for Zambia to get a God fearing President like the one from Nineveh so as we can be saved as a whole nation. As in every aspect including common sense.

Ala stage name sounds like a serious insult my dear. Anyway, uli kubasungu.
some of you bloggers never have anything to say and instead you start talking about irrelevant things, what does the background have to do with her talent? shallow ,thick minded people.

Congrats girl, keep it, we will support and love you as you are. Its your real name, and why have a fake name?
Even Paul Ngozi, PK Chishala and Rabecca Malope for example, maintained their names of who they are/are.
Leave the star alone ma Zambians please aaah!
