Mighty Votes in New Executive

Share

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers supporters have told the new club executive committee led by chairman Peter Daka to ensure that the team wins promotion to the elite league this season.

On Saturday, Wanderers ushered in a new executive committee following club elections held at Mufulira Little Theatre where Rainford Kalaba Senior bounced back as secretary after one term of absence.

After the elections, Felix Sampa told LT Sports in Mufulira that he wants the new club executive to revive Wanderers.
Sampa said the Shinde side does not deserve to continue playing in Division One.

Another supporter, Amos Bwalya said the new Wanderers executive should should find proper sponsorship for the club, rehabilitate Shinde Staduim and improve the welfare of players plus coaches.

Bwalya said Wanderers no longer attract quality players because of the financial difficulties the club has continued to face.

Benard Chola added” We expect them  to lobby Mopani Copper Mines to start sponsoring Wanderers fully.”

  1. I miss the real Mighty Mufulira Wanderers I used to watch as a kid with big names like the Nkole brothers (Abraham, Patrick, Edward), Thomas Bwalya, Robertson Zulu, Evans Katebe, Brines Mulenga, Osward Chishala…etc
    That was Mighty indeed!!

  2. Mighty has been my childhood team. It pains me to see such a great team languishing in Div 1 because of no proper sponsorship. A team which has won more cups than any other team in Zambia. A team second to Nkana FC in teams of Super league titles!

  3. The new executive commitee MUST WORK on the great support Wanderes has countrywide and use it to source for funds.Tey should look at the following:
1)Draw up a fund raising plan and budget for:
    a)Rehabilitate the Stadium
b)Rehabilitate the camp house and ensure it is used as such(Camp house)
c)Approach Mufulira Council for land where they can build flats for the payers(Not the camp house where some players live now)
d)Talk to contractors so that some palyers can be given jobs(to work mornings only)
    e)Lobby Mopani for proper sponsorship.
Finally Wanderers has lots of support countrywide so the executive must take advantage of that support to benefit the club
    d)
