The Ngambela Wainyae Sinyinda has vowed to die over the resolutions of the Barotse National council meeting. He said that he is ready to face arrest, torture or even get killed like the 19 people that were killed in the January 14, 2011 Mongu riots.
The Ngambela added that the people of Barotseland will not fight using arms but will fight with their brains.
And the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has said that it will not take intimidation from government. Reacting to Home Affairs Minister, Kennedy Sakeni’s threats the BRE has since advised the Minister to restrain himself from intimidating the people of Barotseland.
BRE Ngambela, Wainyae Sinyinda has however vowed that Barotseland is determined to defend the resolutions of the Barotse National Council to a bitter end with or without intimidation.
He has stressed that no amount of intimidation will cripple the peaceful disengagement of Barotseland from Zambia.
The Ngambela said that Mr. Sakeni is wrong to insinuate that most members of the council are former ministers. Mr. Sinyinda advised Mr. Sakeni that intimidation may result in something undesirable considering the tension currently in Barotseland.
The Ngambela was speaking to MUVI TV News in Limulunga Mongu yesterday.
On Tuesday the BNC resolved to nullify the Barotse Land agreement of 1964 while it has since been resolved that Barotseland breaks away from Zambia.
Meanwhile, the Kazanga Cultural Association and Nkoya Royal Council have described the Lozis as shameless liars.
The two organizations have maintained that claims by the Baroste National Council BNC that seven districts which includes Kaoma have agreed to secede from Zambia are not true.
Kazanga Cultural Association Chairperson Edwin Nkomeshya has charged that the BNC did not represent all stakeholders in Western province.
He has accused the Barotse Royal Establishment of running a kangaroo traditional structure in Kaoma and Lukulu districts.

Firstly I am not a PF cadre neither do I derive my livelihood from being Sata’s hangers-on but it is a dereliction of duty not to challenge the behaviour of BRE. No one with rational thinking disagrees that Messrs Sata and Wynter Kabimba lied to the people of western province that BA 1964 would be restored within 90 Days of winning elections.  But the unilateral declaration of independence taken by the Ngambela and the BRE is a criminal act and is an equivalent (if not more) to an armed soldier walking into ZNBC and announcing a military coup. The only difference is that none of the people announcing the coup were armed. The actions of BRE justifies why the MMD govt acted last year to forestall anarchy spreading. Sinyinda has broken the law.
Why was it not criminal for Kaunda to abrogate the same agreement in 1969. That agreement is there and its legal and international at that. In-fact the BRE have been too nice so far.

NKOYAS occupy Kaoma district – and they are only a fraction of the population: there are other tribes there as well. Nkoyas were sell-outs even during independence struggle, that is why even up to now they have struggled to make it nationally because nobody trusts them. They are like that, we know them. As Bembas say ‘niba muselela kwakaba’. They keep making so much noise but actually no lozi pays them any serious attention because we all know them. When things change for the better they quickly shift. Never employ a Nkoya in a strategic position, you will be sorry soon.
You are right that Nkoyas are a mere minority now in Kaoma. There are more Kwangwa, Mbunda, Nyengo, Luvales etc than there are Nkoya. I am not sure about their other qualities but they are fantastic musicians!! In fact Nkoyas are an integral part of the BRE with all the royal musicians being Nkoya.

What is happening in Barotseland is exactly what is going in Scotland. I think what the Barotse need is more devolved powers to run their affairs than separation. Let the Litunga have administrative power over WP.
Let him appoint the ngambela who will have the title of minister of Barotseland (cabinet level). Withdraw the district commissioners and replace with indunas appointed by Litunga.
The Litunga, the ngabela and the indunas will form the senate of the WP and by default they will be members of the Zambian parliament.
The Perm Sec and civil service, army, police remain under GRZ.
The WP senate will be responsible for lands, taxes and general admin as per the BA64.
This is a simple situation there is nothing to die for here!!!

The verdict is clear and unanimous. Zambians do not want WP to break away except for a few disgruntled fools. Calling Lozis names does not mean Lozis are hated.
