Zambia will go into camp on May 15 ahead of their Brazil 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers in June.
Faz reported today that May 15 camp will be for home-based players in Lusaka.
The team will later travel to Johannesburg five days later for the final phase of training camp where all the foreign-based players will join up with Herve Renard’s team.
Zambia will face Sudan in their opening Group D qualifier on June 2 in Khartoum.
They will follow this up six days later with a home leg Group D match against Ghana on June 9.
Meanwhile, Faz says it is planning to test run the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola at the month-end before they host Ghana there.
Nkana’s Faz Super Division Week 6 game against Zesco United on April 27 is the game Faz is considering to test-run the venue ahead of 2014 World Cup Group D game against The Black Stars.

We need every Zambian soccer player performing right now. But as Jay Jay says, we need to stop camping in only a country that benefits Kalusha Bwalya. Not that I have anything against him but lets not give too much power to an individual to dictate the future of soccer. If we can camp players at even a 3 to 4 star hotel in ndola which is only 10 minutes to the Levy Mwanawasa international stadium, then lets do it. We need to start cutting costs where they are not necessarily needed. A toilet is a toilet, be it in the USA or Zambia. It’s how we maintain it that counts. Otherwise, I am behind the team, but wasteful spending need to be curtailed. We now have an international stadium in Ndola and training stadias at Zesco, the trade fair grounds etc. Lets make the best use of them.

@ PATAMBALA,You are right on spot.South Africa has much more advanced training and camping facilities compared to Zambia.Its not about a hotel room or a toilet as some bloggers are thinking.Can some one challenge me of any stadium in Zambia that has a modern and well stocked gym of international standards.Please not let FAZ come down to your standards,they have set standards their own standards befitting African Champions and that’s what they are doing.Your Independence stadium gym or Kabwata which full of nothing but tins or old scrap rebar used as weights,nothing to call home a gym.A team needs to train in a quite serene atmosphere and world class artificial turf without disturbances.Has trade grounds in Ndola got artificial turf? Iam told there is one in Lusaka near the noise Mandevu.

So how long are you going to keep going to camp in RSA?
In no way is going to RSA cheaper in the the long term (How much have you spent going there in past 12 months)…wouldn’t it be cheaper for FAZ to build these facilities in Zambia for our first division clubs to also benefit. You have to benchmark yourselves with other Football Associations if you want to achieve long-term success. Your Kalu can’t even organise a friendly with proper opposition for the AFCON champs….wouldn’t be surprised if his U17 team practices with them when they are in camp.
 If they are such fantastic facilities why has the RSA National football team underperformed. FAZ should have a business conscience administration which has overall Zambian football interests at heart.
