Keagan Mumba, Janza In Near Punch-up at Football House

Share

Zambia assistant coach Honor Janza and Zambia Under-20 coach Keagan Mumba are said to have been involved in a near fist of fury at Football House over a week ago.

According to sources at Football House, the incident happened in Faz general secretary George Kasengele’s office when Mumba asked Janza to choose between staying on as Faz technicial director or as Herve Renard’s number two.

“The two were involved in a heated argument that almost led to fight. Keagan was asking Janza to choose between being TD or coach because it is unclear which work he is doing every time he appears at football matches,” the source said.

“And it appears Kasengele was also agreeing with Keagan because local coaches are complaining about the way he (Janza) selects coaches for coaching courses.

“They appear to only recognize KNVB trained coaches but there are others like Kelvin Kaindu trained in England, Keagan who did training in Germany who are not looked at in good light.”

Kasengele is said to have pacified the situation after Mumba, who is also Zanaco coach, bravely demanded an explanation on Janza’s dual roles.

  1. The question was directed at wrong person, the executive should handled that. Where was Keegan during the AGM? Janza is a gentleman who should not be drawn into such useless issues.

  2. Is this something to fight over … kumo ku Zambia too much poverty, poeple even fight over going on a foreign trip

  3. #2 Roan Oye!
Yes you are 100% right. It is the FAZ who can brief him on that matter. I think he (Keagan) did what he did out of frastrution and jealous of Janza. By fighting .. can that solve the problem other than satisfying his own anger??? Shame

  4. Mupinichile aponoke. Some of these appointed coaches like Janza behave like they run football when it’s the club coaches who does. Keep asking them Keegan because anyone who has an international coaching certificate qualifies to coach.

  5. Two Kolwestans Vs one Tonga. I would pay to see this fight. In his short stint with FAZ, Janza has been very succesful. Lets not disturb him, please.

  6. FAZ Executive needs to wean itself from football of patronage. its being run like MMD. Kalusha has to kill this patronage mentality. As CEO of FAZ he needs a fresh and robust corporate gvernance course. Why should Janza have multiple positons when there are so many local coaches without work. We need to stop this nonsense of multiple public positons. Public positions ought to be singular, even in parliament. Remember how many positions Kalusha had at one time.

  7. Oakley top quality at the good cost. These sunglassesook good and have been a tiny part of the purchase price discovered at other shops.
