President Michael Sata has told investors not to be misled that the PF government is engaged in nationalization of companies.

Mr Sata says the government will only go after companies that were corruptly privatised by the former regime.

He however noted that companies taken over by government will be floated to the public.

Mr Sata said this at state house newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Zambia, Pier Mario Dacco presented letters of credence to President Michael Sata.

The President also received letters of credence from Apostolic Nucio, Julio Murat and Tanzania High Commissioner designate to Zambia, Grace Joan Mujuma.

Nucio Julio Murat urged President Sata to unite all the tribes into one zambia and one nation.

Speaking earlier, Tanzania’s High Commissioner to Zambia Grace Mujuma noted the challenges facing the TAZARA.

She called on leadership from both countries to address the challenges facing the rail firm which is jointly owned by the Zambian and Tanzanian government.

President Sata is a VERY GOOD LIEUTENANT! NOT A GENERAL!
He needs to be given directions/tasks, guided/advised and checked on/supervised.
Does the Zambian constitution allow for IMPEACHMENT?
I feel that ALL ZAMBIANS, Chikwanda, Lubinda,  HH, Chipimo,  KK, kaponyas, farmers, civil servants, self employed, public sector, are BEING HELD AT RANSOM BY ONE PERSON
    It’s Sata vs all Zambians
We have seen mismanagement, lack of diplomacy at home and abroad, the demeaning of people at all levels. The misuse of power in appointments and disappointments
    Let us STOP THIS LOT!
Let us ask for a new election TODAY!

BaSata, you are our elder, but please accept that you are, as your VP said “AN OLD DOG WHO CAN’T BE TAUGHT NEW TRICKS”, Zambia is not yours to toy with, instead let’s not talk about Lozi, Tonga, Bemba or Chewa’s, let’s talk about ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION! And get our country the RIGHT leader for this ERA.
Legal people, guide us how do we go about getting a NEW ELECTION NOW!
2016 is too, too far away, there will be no country left.

    • Red brick, do you mean Emmanuel is not free to express his opinion just cause you don’t agree with it? Is that your idea of democracy and freedom of speech? I wonder how some of you chaps manage to live in the free world with your Third World ideas. P.S. I don’t agree with Emmanuel but I think he’s got the right to speak his thoughts.

  4. Emanuel thanks for the post. Even the new vatican ambassador apostle nuncio supports you. This demagogue must unite the country and not divide it

  8. Whilst the fool is talking about who to sale the companies to, he does not how his confused government is hurting the economy…..really government of confusion by the confused

    • Amayama

Tell me one thing that makes you proud of Sata or the PF Govt for you to take time to write and post your comment. Let that come from your true patriotic love for Zambia.

  9. This won’t work. Sata and PF messed up the way they handled Zamtel. No serious investor will put their money into a public company again. For once, Sata and his PF have proved that they are even more corrupt than MMD – infact by far. Secondly, look at the way Zamtel is being managed. The truth is Zamtel has no future and just talk to any Zamtel employee today they will tell you that they are already living on government subsidies which are being chewed as sitting allowances by Kabimba and his group. Zambia is slowly dying. No srious investor can put money into Zamtel even if they floated it on LUSE today. It is a complete c.o.c.k up, these guys are so incompetent they will leave Zambia broke. Sata has absolutely ZERO credibility today to talk about privatization.

  10. By the way, the same diplomats he was chasing last week are the ones who are supposed to advise foreign investors on the safety of their money in Zambia. NOBODY will bring new money into Zambia. The foreign investors who are stuck in Zambia are those with multimillion and billion dollar investments which they can’t easily sell off – the only thing they can do is pray. For some of us who work near the city the gossip you hear about Zambia now among investors is extremely negative to the extent where now Zambia is being lumped together with some terrible west african states as one of the ‘s.h.i.t holes’ not to put your investment money into. Whereas just last year every gossip was a buzz about Zambia. Sata and PF are bad for the economy of Zambia…you will find out by 2016.

  11. How will the public buy shares when they dont have money in their pockets yet? unless you are talking about Mmembe and Nchito who have 14 billion, most Zambians wont be able to buy a single share from the floated companies…..its a waste of time Ukwa, just resign if you have run out of ideas.

  12. Zambia is in trouble. This is a rubbish statement barked on the hoof. It is very insulting to Zambians that their so called president cannot directly communicate policy decisions to them but through pronouncements to foreign dignitaries. Were we going to know about this if these foreigners were not there? What a president! Time to reclaim our country!

    • Imagine veer since HEMCS tookover, there has been no State of the Nation Address later on press conference to articulate his vision for Zambia and answer pertinent questions people have.

  13. hello, can some of the informed bloggers here advice on how and how much does one need to invest or trade on lusaka stock exchange. thank you

  14. We are governed by consent. I am of one of those Zambians that has refused to be governed by the PF government because the whole thing is a joke. I have withheld my  consent and taken back control of my life.

  15. # 5 Champ depending on how many shares are flouted to the public cadres might no longer have a chance of finding themselves in office.

  16. Now ba kateka do you really think that after you takeover the so called corruptly sold companies and reduce them to scrap, like what is happening to zamtel by the way. If you don’t believe ask them how their revenue and client base has stopped growing and how they are actually goin down any way my point is there is no confidence you inspire in the would be investors to by shares. Coz of your bungling. Come on MCS wake up. I voted for you but ba boss you have messed up so much. It’s shocking. You have been behaving like a lunatic since we gave you the seat. Come onnwake up.
