Zambia were today honored during annual Africa Freedom Day holiday investiture ceremony held at State House in Lusaka for winning the 2012 Africa Cup.
President Michael Sata honoured the team with the Order of Distinguished Service First Division which is the fourth highest order in the land.
The entire bench and 21 players were awarded medals minus Clifford Mulenga who was expelled from the Africa Cup in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea on January 31.
The Zambia bench honoured was coach Herve Renard his assistances Patrice Beaumelle and Honour Janza, goalkeeper coach Davies Phiri, team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi , team physician Dr Kabungo Joseph and team physiotherapist Gibson Chaloba
Thats a great move by the govt..Did the players flew back to zambia frm SA where there in camp.A lesson frm clifford mulenga.
Its not Zambia which was honored. Its the Zambia national soccer team.Â
It is true, i haven yet seen one. Even the Nevers wining thing thing, it? like Never wins. Wishing the dude already bad luck?
The photo looks like a picture of one happy great Zambian family. One wished we could all work toward this.
Of course we could be one family if only Ukwa could understand that he is the president of Zambia in word and deed. At the moment he behaves like his the head of a militia looking after sectional rather than National interests. He behaves like he won a war and not an election.
All but except 4 teams in the english premier league can be wired/beaten by these boys chipolopolos . These are very skillful and talented boys wu can reach th finals of the euro 2012 with easy if zambia was in europe.
Ba LT ‘assistants’ NOT ‘assistances’, please.
Zambia 2-0 other SA youths, they won without Chris Katongo, and game was very exciting. Better than any game Zambia played at AFCON, but they won cup anyway.
I thought Africa freedom day is a day to honour freedom fighters. We have heroes day on our calendars so why not honour them on that day. Â
