Former Access Financial Services Director Aaron Chungu has maintained that government needs to probe the financial dealings at the company which is now in liquidation.
Mr Chungu says none of the facts about the misconduct and potential criminality that he earlier stated have been disputed by the Bank of Zambia .
He told a media briefing on Thursday that some of the irregularities include huge and unjustified salary and administrative payments in excess of 12.7 billion kwacha paid from Access to the liquidator among others.
But the bank of Zambia yesterday urged Mr Chungu and his colleagues to go and inspect the liquidation schedule the central bank lodged at the High court.
The Bank of Zambia also advised Mr Chungu to report any matter he considers criminal to law enforcement agencies for action.

Thieves are comimg back regrouping under the protection of PF government at the same time preaching fight against corruption. Mahtani’s reward has led others to claim their stakes. We await what Mr Sata will say on this one. So far its ‘Donchi Kubeba’ on DBZ K14 billion owed to Zambians by his friends and single sourcing of printing Draft constitition by his friend Mmembe of the Post mortem news paper. Sata is indeed fighting corruption according to Bemba strategy.
Can someone from the Kolwestan Kingdom explain the meaning of the proverb this criminal said at the beginning of the video clip. He seems sure confident of what he is talking about and has even a new spring in his step. I agree with people this president is indeed fan to follow , I will order more popcorn as well.
u pipo read evidence membe & his friend did not get a loan from DBZ they found that debt when they took over the company.therefore our beloved Sata is not protecting them.get the facts
Aron Chungu stop wasting our time just inform the nation you have talked to the president and soon a tribunal will sit and before it concludes its findings you will have your company back rebooted with K1trillion Kwacha like was the case with one of the mwenyes in town. Stop fooling us pls and just do what is good for your team to reward X Chungu since the PS position could not go through.
You’ve got to be a bemba not to feel ashamed as Chungu is acting right now. For Chungu to stand up like this and insult the honest among the Zambians, it is heartbreaking – this is a sign that there is a lot going on behind the scenes that is giving even criminals like chungu the audacity that they can have their looted wealth back. Let him go to court.
Chitapi #5, your agony will be a reformed judiciary that still finds people like Chungu not liable. What to do then? The blogsphere has become an attractive playgrounds for heretics…
Funny mwebantu. The money Chungu is crying belonged to the Zambia intelligence services.Chungu should just shut up .He ate enough stolen money.
Chungu: You are welcome at the DPP’s Office
Even if Chungu was a criminal, he has the right to point out at other criminal activities happening elsewhere. Whether the company was his or not. Crime is crime. He has a point.
Let us abe a country of laws.
#9 Ice_Road_Trucker, I totally agree with you. The best that an accused can have is the right to be heard when he/she wishes to be heard, the right to have justice and the best lawyers around. A person is innocent and till proven guilty; it is the most cardinal principle. By guilty-it means a convict should have his/her appeal heard and determined by the highest court in the land not just convicted at the Subordinate Court-till the Supreme says yes you are guilty Mr/Mrs/Miss/whoever! Then you will be deemed guilty!
The same Ichibemba he used to begin this press statement has a saying that goes, “Mumbwe pakulila ninshi pali uko anshintile amatako”. If this saying will come to pass, then Zambia is headed to doom. I think ubupuba ubu will only come to an end when Zambians stop glorifying these criminals. It is only in Zambia, that people who have plundered the peoples money have the audacity to dare them. Zambians deserve better and so, it is imperative that the authorities in power should not in anyway be seen to impede justice by even appointing people like PS Northern province into positions of responsibilities when there past is dented. Remember the bush doctrine, “if you harbour a terrorist, then you too are a terrorist and an enemy of the people”.
