Zanaco Go Top After Power Beat Zesco

Zanaco are the new FAZ Super Division champions after beating Konkola Blades 2-0 at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka in a Faz Super Division Week 13 game.

Elson Mkandawire and Henry Banda each scored for Zanaco in the 9th and 90th minutes respectively to see them replace Zesco United at the top of the table.

Zanaco top the table on 29 points, one more than Zesco.

10-man Zesco on their other hand lost their first match of the season when they lost 2-1 away to Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Midfielder Khondwani Mtonga was red carded in the 22nd minute by referee William Chewe for stomping on Power captain Joseph Sitali.

Felix Nyaende then put Power ahead in the 33rd minute before Emmanuel Chimpinde added the home sides second in the 41st minute.

Innocent Mwaba turned in Zesco’s consolation in the 56th minute in a second half that the visitors pressed their hosts despite their numerical disadvantage.

Power stay third despite the win on 25 points.

And at Dola Hill in Ndola, Nkana were humiliated 3-1 away by Forest Rangers.

  2. Wedson Nyirenda iz a good and upcoming coach, but that should come from the fanz and performance. To declare to go the seazon unbeaten should not be by word of mouth, while confrontation right or wrong, with refereez and colleaguez iz not the way to go.
