Faz Seeks Fifa Advice on Sudan Player Status

Share

The Football Association of Zambia says they have officially informed Fifa over Sudan’s fielding of an ineligible player.

Sudan fielded Al Hilal defender Saif Ali in their 2-0 win over Zambia in a 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier on June 2 in Khartoum.

“Pursuant to our statement released earlier today, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) would like to announce that world soccer governing body FIFA has informed us that they are forwarding our mater to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee,” the statement posted on Faz official website said.

“FIFA’s response to FAZ comes in the wake of the ended week’s correspondence between Football House and FIFA House.

“In our communication to Zurich last week, we requested FIFA to review the June 2 FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 qualifier match Sudan vs. Zambia with specific reference to the Sudanese player Saif Ali Eldin Adris.

“As stated in our earlier statement, Football House had been looking at the relevant documentation and materials relating to the game, the player in review as well as the rules and regulations governing the 2014 Qualifiers.

“Once again, once the FIFA process is completed and the outcome communicated to us, we shall inform the nation accordingly.”

Meanwhile, the story was broken by The Post newspapers, before Faz were prompted to issue a statement.

  1. FAZ now leave it with FIFA and concentrate on the upcoming games, i just hope they don’t give us the points now as complacency will creep in again…and a blank cheque for some to continue plundering!!

    • Zambia has a case but i think if you don’t act within 72hours you have lost out on your claim??? We shall have to blame it on sleepy and lazy FAZ if its so…

  2. ”i just hope they don’t give us the points now as complacency will creep in again…and a blank cheque for some to continue plundering!!” With shenanigan thinking lik this one,one wonders what you are doing in th UK.You are the people who clean toilets in the United Kingdom!

  3. @makaveli, u hav cracked me kekekekeke, these guyz in de diaspora dey r suffer very much coz most of them do jobs wich de indigenous refuse like ukupipa amafi yatukote and u say ur in europe, damn

    • And no Zambians do ukupipa amafi in ZAMBIA? Living in Europe has taught me to appreciate people’s work occupations as compared to my beloved Zed where if you pipa amafi or be malukula is look down on…grow up, if you have a ‘good’ job, count your blessings…

  4. Its a bit embarassing to gain an advantage off the pitch, but these sudanese are a disgrace to deliberately ignore the rules.

  5. Come on guys,Zambia is a Christain nation.there is no way we can just grab those three points from Sudan just like that. What happened to the basic tenets of Christianity:Forgive and forget.I strongly believe FAZ should not claim those three points instead they
should ask Sudan not to repeat the same mistake in the future.Isn’t that what Christainity is all about?Unless, you are telling me Christainity and football don’t mix.Furthemore, what about those songs…gospel songs we were singing at the AFCON which really
    confirm that we are Christians?

    • But iwe Donald. zowona ndiwe silu.unakulila kumayadi & u hav neva faced any form of competition? who says u must 4giv each other 4 breaking rules in a competition just becoz u ar a christian? i gues u dont leav in zambia & u arent patriotic at all!

    • Please use your Christianity wisely…. In your line of thinking it means we just go and get all the prisoners out and let them loose and pat our children on the back when they do wrong….or maybe we don’t even participate in games so that automatically the other teams win….*THINK*!!! :-? My God is a God of order…..the rules are there and so must be followed, period!! when someone is offside and they score, that goal is disregarded or according to you we must just let them have the goal….. Football is a game guided by rules, thats what makes it football :d  **==

  6. I have checked with FIFA and they say, they are not aware of the complaint. FAZ IS lying. They actually said the matter is for CAF to handle not them directly. FAZ please do your job

  7. The story is not clear: Why was the player ineligible? was he banned by FIFA or he is not sudanese, anyway did we play south or north sudan? Above this is marubish coming from champions amalilisho we were beaten clean and just work hard for remaining games ba chimbwi imwe no plan, sure pali sudan amalilisho, …hahha,,wait for Ghana complaint to FIFA thus when you will realise how foolish u have become.

  8. Great, rule of engagement have to be observed all the time. Now let’s focus on winning the remaining games, that way we will still be in regardless of what FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee rules on this … great job so far. Stay focused, next!

We know that the next game against Lesotho is a bit far but we still have to stay focused, next!

  10. Akhulu Mpuno just shut up. The player was banned for the game but he played. A blogger broke the news on Tumfweko not The Post as PF followers would like to believe

  11. Ba Donald! Where in the Bible is retribution denied? Mwila leta ama politics yamu chruch muli bola.. Anyway, Saif was given  red card in the A and has not served his suspension. FAZ t kntemba to m sure the consulted widely over the matter after reading rule and regulations. fr someone to claim FIFA has not responded? You want them to personally send you an email? CAF can’t handle this issue because it’s WC qualifier so they probably forwarded it (after consultation). look at in the context of Rooney playing against Sweden or France, England will forfiet that match by 3-0; ema rules yamu bola.

  12. Chaps like Akulu Mpuno! Elo wambile uku tamba bola? Khartoum is a fortress, NO ONE has won at the stadium due to the bad pitch and and humid weather, same reason Sudan losty to Mickey Mouse Lesotho; bali belela uku teya ukwa kaba. What case does Ghana have? See the clip posted on Youtube to help you see aba le lilishya between us and Ghana. I was at the game and saw what happened. Points or not points, Ghana ali chepa and will fall in Khartoum and we’ll give them a good game in Kumasi; we’ve beat them twice already.Typical, Zambian’s lacking patriotism; wouldn’t be suprised if you’re a Zambian in UK with only an accent to show for it. Anyway, I hope YOU win the Euro 2012 mwe ma modern day slaves..

  13. @9, akulu mphuno:

What are rules for? The rules say if a player is red-carded (or incur two yellow cards) in a FIFA sanctioned tournament/matches, he/she has to miss two consecutive (FIFA sanctioned) matches. And Idris was shown two yellow cards (equaling a red card) at the AFCON. So he was ineligible to feature for Sudan in the Zambia and Lesotho matches since Idris had never sat-out two International matches between the AFCON and the FIFA world cup qualifiers. Of course Sudan realized this mistake, albeit late, and never featured the player in question in their encounter with Lesotho. Does this help you?

Those are the FIFA, and not FAZ, rules that everybody has to live by or chaos will reign! To blame FAZ or anybody else for Sudan’s blunder is reall cheap and silly!

  14. Ok that was very wrong now what I don’t know is will that make us have the three points back or a rematch let’s focus on new Games we wish u the best chipolopolo

  15. if truely the player was suspended n Sudan went ahead to use him then they are loosing out.thats the rules of the game nothing like being a christian nation guys.

  16. Just shut it all of you. Rules are rules and should be followed. Why do you like working against your own team? Do you think Sudanese would be thinking the way you think I’d it we’re Zambia that fielded an ineligible player?

  17. Brazil here we come, we will be going to Ghana with 6 points above them, just wait and see.
    J J …..Rio de Janerio , here we come…..

  18. ALL GAMES HAVE RULES AND ALL RULES HAVE TO BE FOLLOWED FOR ONE TO BE A GOOD SPORTSMAN/WOMAN. THERE IS NO ONE ABOVE THE LAW, SO IF YOU BREAK A RULE YOU END UP BEING BROCKEN BY THE SAME RULE, CHIPOLOPOLO DONT BE TOO HAPPY, WE HAVE A JOB TO DO AND THIS IS TO GET TO THE WORLD CUP FOR THE FIRST TIME, YOU BROUGHT THE AFCON TROPHY HOME AFTER MANY FAILLING

  19. Just like the Post – if you don’t win appeal because the process must be corrupt. What was it Mr. Kambwili was saying to Ghana about accepting defeat gracefully? Never mind… I’m sure FIFA will sort this out and guess winning on a technicality is good enough for Zambia.

  20. @Pompwe wa Chalo…imwe ba guy..Christian nation nabanani..what Sudan did was wrong and must be punished! Nothing like forgiveness! And that’s not even our decision to make! FIFA decides what will b done. But let’s not forget that All I’d Fair in Love and War! If Sudan were in our shoes they would not hesistate to report us! Did u see how their ball boys treated us!

  21. the player will be punished say banned for a year, coach suspended for 3 matches and the club fined heavily….chapwa! the three points still remains with Sudan…..let us just focus on the remaining games period. Law is fair, by using a player who was banned Sudan did not have an advantage over Zambia in terms of numbers……that’s my opinion. thanks

  22. 36 Carrying over cautions
    1. Cautions received during one competition are not carried over to another
    competition

  23. If ndeed the status quo iz az stated, then am afraid the rulez governing the good game of futbo must followed to the later. Who wouldn’t want to gain some geniune free points anyway, and what a critical moment for that to happen!

  24. I WILL BE THE HAPPIEST TO GET FREE 3 POINTS FROM SUDAN FOR THEIR FOOLISHNESS. GOD IS ON OUR SIDE. GO ZAMBIA GO

  25. ZNBC with their ka fake master deg. Holder as DG, are rubbish… Failing to show euro 2012. I knew it, when this chap was appointed that znbc ll now be a chatter box as all those with wierd theories ll clad the small screen day in day out

  26. Bloggers some facts,,,,Beckham got red carded in 1998 world cup and next games for england wer for Euro 2000 which he missed first 2 games…Again materazi got red carded in 2006 w/c and missed first 2 games foreuro 2008 qualifications…

in this case the player got red carded in last afcon match against zam hence he has to miss first 2 fifa sactioned matches which was againz zam and lesotho which i beleive he missed becoz by than sudan fa realised the mistake and dint pick him for the match…

  27. we have been awarded the three points for all those nay sayers who claim to love Zambia and yet are not happy at any success the country achieves can now shut the hell up and go back to their mothers for some basic education, idi-ots.

  28. Stand and sing of Zambia, proud and free,
Land of work and joy in unity,
Victors in the struggle for the right,
    We have won freedom’s fight.
    All one, strong and free.

  29. I am as usual shocked with the behaviour of FAZ officials, they should have noticed this thing imediately the game between Sudan and Zambia began, and then they should have just kept quite and imediately the game finished they should have raised high hell about Sudan fielding a non eligible player, that way FAZ would have shown how serious they are, not to be reminded by a blogger!!! my foot!!! I bet their interest was only in calculating how much per diem they are netting on that outing. Any way, rules are rules, Rooney is not playing for England at the EURO 2012, because of the same rule.

  30. it’s heart-breaking to read about “bo namalyanga, bo silatwa ni boya linja za batu zesachiwi nama, kupukwa mulo kapa ku tafunwa masapo” who hate thier own country. 3 points are ours yooo!!!

  31. I do not think this will work. The two game series AFCON and Wolrd Cup Qualifiers are different, unless of course the rules have changed and FAZ knows better.
Saif was sent off in a Sudan Vs Zambia AFCON game so he is only inelligible to play in AFCON games and not World Cup qualifiers and World Cup Games. His red card will carry over only in an AFCON game.
    Lets wait and see.

  32. Even if Sudan fielded 11 mercernaries we should be capable of winning such games if we are to make it to World Cup and play Spain.

  33. @mukulumpe, AFCON is part of the FIFA calendar, that’s a full international game, as long as it is a FIFA sanctioned much, did u not see Blatter congratulating Katongo. That Sudanese player’s suspension still holds.

  34. This is really sad to get well deserve points from sudan, without sweating, can you even be proud, its like getting a drivers licence without going for a test. Zambia being afican champions must convince the world that we did not win with the help of fallen heroes spirits through juju by mwazabamba. U can see how zambia won in AFCON it was all very suspicious, how could Didier Drogba the chelsea hitman miss penalty at 70mins? Gavinho kicks wide, yaya toure saved impossible iam talking about real professionals here not TP mazembe players alike sunzu , kalaba etc .Better sudan is withdrawn and no points awarded to zambia then compete among Black stars, lesotho,,ahhh..could u beat lesotho 7-0 and return leg to Ghana????? i pity the team of zambia and the coach who cant even speak eng,

  35. This is our points, we worked for them but because of un patriotism by sudanise, we lost them now we are re claiming them. AKULU MPHUNO you are NOT a Zambian if you are then you are the worst Zambia as ever produced human being, how can you wish yo country bad luck? please people lets be serious with big issues like this one.

  36. @49, dude or dudess, you’re crazy. you really believe Zambia’s winning in Gabon had something to do with the dead? Name one super football star that has never failed to score a penalty. Does it hurt you that much that you wish bad lack for the country that produced your parents? You gat issues mate.

  37. Num 45 are you thick????????????read blog num 38 and you will get youre ansa…READ BEFORE YOU BLOG!!!!!!!!!!:(

  38. Hmm! Let’s rather think of the devastating HIV infection in Zambia and the drastic declining of life expectancy of Zambia clothed in a shrinking economy! Hehehe! Talk about our team- Bafanabafana!!

  39. Excellent issues altogether, you simply gained brand new|a new} reader. What may you suggest in regards to your submit that you simply made some days ago? Any certain?
