Weekend Scorecard: Faz Says It filed its Sudan Case on Time

Share

The Football Association of Zambia has said it filed its play eligibility case against Sudan in time.

Faz spokesperson Erick Mwanza told ZNBC sports that speculationthat their case would be thrown out because they failed to beat the deadline to file in the complaint are false.

“The matter which is before the Disciplinary committee of FIFA was filed on time and properly,” Mwanza said.

“The rumours which have been doing the rounds are compounded by false reports.

“For the nation’s information if you file anything with Fifa which is not proper you the complaint gets penalised and sanctioned and face punishment.

“Faz has not been punished. Our papers like I stated were filed in time and correctly and the matter referred to the disciplinary committee of Fifa which will sit at its own discretion.”

Sudan on June 2 fielded defender Saif Ali in the team’s 2-0 win over Zambia in Khartoum.

Ali was expelled in his last official match on February 3 at the Africa Cup also against Zambia.

  1. Bufi, ka Mwanza ka le bepa, this claim was submitted late, mumona kwati tulifikopo nangulefipuba?
My question to FAZ is why should we be the ones to identify players who are banned, isnt that FIFAs job o the 4th Official

  2. what Mwanza should state at ALL TIMES and FORA is the actual date the complaint was lodged. Let us then judge for ourselves whether or not we have cause to expect anything from FIFA. Simply saying we filed in (or ON) time is immaterial and inadequate for the nationals whom he is now forcing to either be for or against FAZ.

  3. There iz no question that Sudan haz issuez with FIFA, whether Zambia complainz or not. We should be more concerned with what the World futbo governing body will do about the bare wrong comitted by the North Africanz. When a law iz broken with impunity, it’s no big deal, complainant or not.

  4. Why should the FIFA disciplinary committee sit “at its own discretion” when there is an aggrieved party that is seeking justice? Surely FIFA should be able to communicate the date when the issue will be discussed. I am quite sceptical.

  5. Ka Mwanza, tell us when you actually submited instead of blufffing us. Ulenya fye ifisushi and contaminating scribes without telling us full details so that we await the FIFA ruling in peace. Sudan Cheated, they are cheats Period. kalu u say u have connections, his is a litmus test for Zambia to get favarable un biased ruling. we have had always get unfair ruling against us. same FIFA and CAF have never come for the Funeral when Our Players crushedoff the coast of Gabon, up to now. We should be treated fairly.

  6. The fact is Sudan broke the law. If they get away with it, can Zambia, Ghana, Lesotho also use banned players?
