President Michael Sata spent part of Saturday morning touring stands at the Zambia International Trade Fair grounds.
President Sata in the company of Zambia International Trade Fair chairman Phesto Musonda, Commerce minister Bob Sichinga and Agriculture minister Emmanuel Chenda toured the Zanaco pavilion, Ministry of Agriculture and pavilions in the Kelvin Mulenga Hall.
President Sata who tried to withdraw some money from Zanaco, however failed to do so as the internet line failed.
The president jokingly told the teller Bertha Mwansa who complained about the poor line that it is the directors who have failed, and not the internet line.
The president toured several other stands which included Zesco.
President Sata also took time to greet children and on-lookers who were lining up the road to catch a glimpse of him.
And yesterday, President Sata said that there is no way a person who cannot keep hair like Dr. Nevers Mumba can manage to keep the nation. He said that in the olden times only criminals after being released from prison used to shave their heads or those at funerals.

Mr. Sata said this at a rally in Chama North, Muchinga Province, when he drummed up support for PF candidate, January Zimba, in the July 5th parliamentary by election. President Sata also described the MMD as a finished party.
Mr. Sata acknowledged the problems of poor roads, lack of water and health centers in the area.
ZNBC
Ba Dr. Nevers lost sheep Mumba has two convent rings on his fingers, I wonder which covenant.
Wow, that’s a cheap shot … “And yesterday, President Sata said that there is no way a person who cannot keep hair like Dr. Nevers Mumba can manage to keep the nation. He said that in the olden times only criminals after being released from prison used to shave their heads or those at funerals.”
Well, Mr. President welcome to new world … people cut their hair that short and just because you and I like to keep our hair long is not a campaign strategy against others. Give us substance on issues such as what the new MP would do to improve the lives of the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise.
We love you all the same, we honor you as our President and as such let’s not campaign on personalities but issue. May God bless your leadership of this nation at this critical time.
I am shocked too why this bold hair cut thing has been included in this artile… it is just so cheap. it is cheap sata said it, it is cheap they reported yesterday, it is ridiculous they are repeating it today. so cheap.
Maurice, imagine this coming from the president, its awlful
Elias Chipimo Jr. Â is now eating with His Excellency Michael Chilufya Sata…
Now on this comment … “The president jokingly told the teller Bertha Mwansa who complained about the poor line that it is the directors who have failed, and not the internet line.”
You are sport on, my Dad used to tell us that if ever we reached a point where we did not have eggs for breakfast, it would not be because chickens had stopped laying them (eggs) but because we failed to have the resources to acquire them. Eggs will always be there if you have the means to have them.
In the same way, Zanaco directors failed “not” the internet, not when Zambia was the first country in the Sub-Saharan region with fiber optics. We had fiber optics even before others knew what it did, despite being landlocked. Now that comment is called “Advanced Leadership”.
YAH!! ITS TRUE. ITS THE DIRECTORS WHO HAVE FAILED AND A SHAKEUP IS JUST IN ORDER.
Just imagine how much business that Commercial bank loses everyday due to such issues, this is why I always state that the GRZ should be in the forefront in pulling these broadband fibre optic cables via the Indian and Atlantic oceans be it from Angola, Namibia, RSA or Tanzania then let the private sector compete for supply to customer encourage competition and competitive broadband subscriptions .
Shouldn’t Sata be touring zambian private sector pavilions to encourage growth and innovation? All those that he toured are tied to GRZ and are bastions of lethargy and unproductiveness.Corporations tied to govenment are not known to be centers of excellence.
CNP has apologise to Nevers. His hair style has nothing to do with political contests
please boys, dont clock my card which has remained trapped in that machine….mwe ma Nigerians twapapata…..
Trade infair
It not only ZANACO, even the Directors in Barclays and Standchart have failed us. People have lost millions of $$$ to crooks through VISAS transfers. These transfers have been there in Europe why are there so many crooked transactions in Zambia. The President is right.
Very backward and useless country ..internet loss on a busy day
For sure trade fair but with no money it is tade in fair
cheap politics with no respect for each other. why should sata be talking about his friend’s hair? he should look in the mirror, is it so expensive to have scale and polish (dental procedure) in zambia? i am sure he can afford it.
But Sata should do something about those rotten teath of his! The Queen even complained to Joyce Banda about Zondwe’s bad breath. She actually thought he has fatted at he party last month.
About skinheads being synonymous with ex- convicts and those bereaved, he should repeat this to president Zuma of South Africa and Mshini Wami will teach CNP a lesson.
Am sure President Sata will not be welcome in South Africa with such comments Zuma must be fuming.
Sata should asked Bush to Open the Show!
