“Mighty” Mufulira Wanderers on Wednesday held Power Dynamos to a goalless draw in a friendly played at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.
The two sides renewed their old rivalry of yester-year when they used to clash in the Super Division.
Power are preparing for the second half of the Faz Super Division which starts on 14 July while Division North side Wanderers are attempting to revive their chances of being contenders for promotion to the elite league.
The friendly is reported to have attracted scores of fans from Kantanshi Township and nearby areas.
Power used all their dependable players among them Kennedy Mudenda, Graven Chitalu and Emmanuel Chimpinde but Israel Mwanza’s legendary team remained resolute to force a draw.
The Super Division champions have gone into the current mid-season break sitting third on the table with 28 points.
Meanwhile, Wanderers’ poor start to the season claimed the then coach Kellies “Paymaster” Mwaba who was fired and replaced with Mwanza.
Wanderers are are currently 9th on the table with 24 points from 17 games and are 11 points behind leaders Lime Hotspurs.
Good job Mighty , the glory days are coming back.
