Renard Challenges Fringe Players in Malawi Friendly

Share

Herve Renard has challenged his home-based team to show they deserve to wear the African champions shirt in Fridays friendly against Malawi.

Zambia face Malawi on July 6 in a warm-up game in Blantyre.

“For the local players it is important to show what they can do,” Renard said prior to the team’s departure for Malawi on Wednesday.

Renard added that he was also looking to see a more improved performance from the fringe players who played in a 0-0 draw against Angola on May 16.

“When we played in Angola with young team it was not easy but we saw who was ready or not,” Renard said.

“The target is always the same is to bring the new players for Chipolopolo.”

  1. I am happy for Jackson Mwanza, Mwepya Kasongo. Both goalkeepers, Moses Mapulanga will make it next time.
Am unsatisfied for Thomas Nyerenda and Nyambe, they should have been left out to give others chance to shine.

  2. I agree with #1, there is no to use mature and tested players. Let’s widen our net and include more players from the lower divisions. Dennis Banda should be a senior player in the national team and should have left out.

  3. ya good idea we build confidence in young players. lets keep doing two things winning on one hand and building on the other hand.

  4. Big up to da administration and da coach. Its brilliant to note dat chipolopolo is making long term plans for zambian football.Felicitaciones.
