Zesco United on Saturday ended their five match winless streak with coach Wedson Nyirenda declaring it was a victory over the conspiracy against his team.
Zesco came from 2-1 down in the first half to snatch dramatic 3-2 win away at Napsa Stars in Lusaka and record their first league win since May 27 when they beat National Assembly 1-0 in Lusaka.
The three time champions had hitherto Saturdays win, collected just two points from five games with Nyirenda blaming referees for conspiring against him and his team.
“We have had our points taken away from us through dubious means, the two games that we have lost were lost dubiously and even the games that we have won we were suppressed so much by other forces,” Nyirenda said.
Last week’s 2-1 away loss to Zanaco was one case in question with Nyirenda feeling that Jackson Mwanza’s disallowed goal in that game and Zanaco defender Kunda Mushota’s yellow card for a deliberate handball as the last man on the edge of the penalty area, were unfair decisions.
“So I think the fact is we are playing against many forces on the pitch and being where we are on the log is wonderful,” Nyirenda said.
Zesco stay second on the table on 35 points from 17 games played and are two points behind Zanaco.
Next stop for Zesco are fourth from bottom Nakambala Leopards whom they host in Ndola on July 28.
Many thanks to ZUFC they played a must win game and they did just that. congratulates Zega Boys we shall always be there 4 u. Let us continue checking on Zanaco F C its just 2 points behind them. Let go ZUFC boys
Can someone substitute Linos Makwaza from the Nkana bench. We cannot afford anymore losses at this time of the season.I can see our beloved team playing division 1 football next season with Linos at the helm.Nkana fc executive and the supporters club, where are you?????
@Kalampa, either Ba Lino ba chabe chabe or the players at Nkana are not measuring up to he requirement of Premier League football. Mopani has given money to the club to buy four players, but they have just brought in two players from Division One, one from Power Dynamos, though he never played for Power. On the goal keepers, kwati ba kabweshefye Ichoni mwibala because in the absence of Charles Mweemba, Lennon Muma is failing us. He should have been the one to leave. I concur with you that at this rate, we will find ourselves in Division One next year.looks like someone is being economical with the truth about players being bought. Elo next ni GBFC, tough game it will be.
@ KALAMPA, muleya imwe mu muku joina ba mighty mu DIV-1 leaving konkola mine police mu premier and sharp razor zo-onafyeeeee .
