  1. It’s Bolt vs Blake in about 10 minutes time…I’m watching TV like I have never watched before!
I’m putting my money on BLAKE!
HARD LUCKY TO THE ZAMBIAN…HOW DO YOU WIN A RACE WHEN YOUR PRESIDENT IS 75 YEARS OLD

  2. At least Gerald can say, He run against the world’s best sprinter in Usain Bolt. Not many people can say that. BTW. is Gerald based in the states?

  3. The boy did great, making it to the semis in his first trip to the olympics is a great achievement. I hope he can get some sponsors so he can focus on his training and getting better instead of worrying about bills.

  4. It was nice to see Gerald competing with the worlds best! With hard work, you are an olympian forever. Looking forward to seeing you in the next olympics!

  5. I was so proud to see him race against the world best. Good start for him and if he plays his cards right he will do well and make us proud. Its shame we didnt know much about him till now, can someone share some data on him so that we get to know our boy better…felt very proud to see him give his best. Good on you Gerald

  6. Not matter what Gerard you’re still a winner to us and thanks for putting the zambian flag in that most exclusive club of the world’s fastest men.

  7. Heshima kwako bwana Phiri kwa kuweka taifa na bendera ya zambia juu katika michezo ya olimpiki.Ahsante sana mungu akubariki.

  8. I liked his out-fight, probably the best on the line-up. Gerald looked civilized as if he was not Zambian.

  9. There is nothing like he tried.he went to compete and he lost.he is not different from bolt.he is just a looser.

  10. Well done to Gerald. Even during the hey days of Zambia during ZCCM era we never produced athletes who could compete with the world’s best in the 100m race. Well done. We know you did it on your own steam with zero government support, since they do nothing for athletics!!. Keep working hard and you will surely be in the finals at the next olympics.

  11. @ nostradamus, Come on my friend how can you say he looked civilized as if he were not Zambian? Hope it was just a slip up because a lot of Zambians are civilized.

  12. Well done, Gerald. Don’t worry about the negative comments. I’m sure people writing such comments have little to speak of in terms of achievements.

  13. Man the boy is a star. He held his own against the very best. Keep up the good work coz u r destined for greater things mwaice. Am proud of u. U gave it yo very best.

  14. Well done Gerald. My family and I watched your every step joyfully. Good posture, good gait. You are among the best runners in the World.

  15. Gerald you are a good, you did your best;to me you are a winner considering were u come from+the poor facilities.

  16. The guy is good. Even position 5 did not appear good enough for him. He has so much potential for great things. Keep it up.

    • Your such a JERK. Yy Brother did very good. I am so proud of him. I did not see you running beside him did I? Its people like you that me make me sick. However just know that he is my brother and he is not worried about anything that you or others say because he is a Man of God.

  17. PROUD of your debut not easy to be on the same line with Bolt – You have started well to finish in the semi – good well tried

  18. I am so lucky to have a Brother to look up to. Gerald did his best and that is all what matters. So to those who are saying ugly rude things about him you need to not say that beacause we the WHOLE wide World did not see YOU or OTHERS running beside him. He will always be a Winner in Our eyes rather its In the Stated or Out of the States supporting his Country. Once again Love “HIS” Little Sister….. :) Be Blessed everyone.

  19. Gerald Phiri is someone we should all be proud of. He ran against the very best and still came out with his head high. I salute this guy. Someone else would have buckled at the sight of Bolt but he didn’t. Great stuff!

  20. Gerald’s time is not bad at all. He can represent us better in Rio. He will be 27 then. and hoepfully running 9.5. He should just be given the required support.

  21. Gerald run well…he was based in South Africa for a bit then moved on to the UK and now is based in the US….I loved his strip was really nicely designed….

  22. Manje Gerald ATHAWA MANINGI on the athletics track..ayi…penangu he can also box very well..lol.Zikomo Aphiri …mwamvera naimwe…!

  23. This is why we need duo citizenship. @ NOSTRADAMUS Gerald is probably British but decided to belong to the Zambian camp. Zambians are individuals and it is not fair to say that we are not civilised. Gerald, well done!

  24. Gerald did his best and I for one felt proud. I am not so sure, though, if he would have reached such heights if he had been based in Zambia. Athletics, among others is paid only lip-service in Zambia. Gerald came to the UK when he was about 8 and his talent was spotted soon after. He was already winning things at primary school. He lived in Sheffield before he located to the USA to further enhance his athletics pursuits.

  25. Gerald Phiri did us proud!
Well done and can still hold head high!
He was a talk in these diaspora homes with these ‘English’ and ‘American’ Zambian children who are brain-washed to believe nothing good can come from Africa!
They can now teach their English and American friends where Zambia is.
Zambia is not in Nigeria as many of them think! Atrocious Geography!

  26. Good website! I really love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I’ve subscribed to your RSS feed which must do the trick! Have a nice day!

  27. He still did us proud to see him among the very best in the world especially that other chaps have better facilities all round than him.Well done Gerald, keep working hard you re still young and you can improve.

  28. I really like the fact that he could have chosen to represent GB (like he did at youth level) but instead chose Zambia. That is patriotism, not like a couple of negative people on this blog.

  29. Thanks for every other excellent post. Where else could anybody get that kind of information in such a perfect means of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I am at the search for such information.

  30. 977833 753299Hey, you used to write great, but the last few posts have been kinda boring?K I miss your tremendous writings. Past few posts are just a little bit out of track! come on! 772448
