Jacob Muenga has pulled out of Zambia’s friendly against South Korea on Wednesday.
Football Association of Zambia communications officer Erick Mwanza confirmed in a statement.
“Jacob has a family commitment; a family emergency which will not enable him travel and be in a good mind-frame to play. As a result, we have decided to excuse him from this match. We know how important a player Jacob is and his commitment to the national team and our football. It is a very difficult period for him and his family and we fully understand and empathise with his situation,” Mwanza said.
“Coach Herve Renard is fully aware of Jacob’s situation. He has indicated that the team will be ok and will have enough ammunition upfront. Every coach would love to have top players like Jacob available every time but when situations like these arise, other squad members have to rise to the occasion.
“We know the many questions and concern the fans and nation would have concerning this family commitment. We will however not divulge any further details as this is a private family matter which the Mulenga family has not made public and we shall leave it at that.”
Mulenga was due to make his long awaited Zambia return on August 15 in Seoul after recovering from a long injury layoff.
The striker from Dutch side FC Dutch sustained an injury last November that saw him miss the 2012 Africa Cup.
Yaaba, fyaku bantu, everytime sure!?
Let Collins Mbesuma take his place….
Mbesuma…can’t run fast…can’t jump high. Jacob Mulenga is a tall striker and could have given Zambia an aerial advantage over the Koreans. Any other tall striker?
FC Dutch? What team is that? Never heard of it, on know that the boy plays for FC Utrecht…
We are now fed up with his nonsense, just drop him foor good,is he the only one with problems?we got the afcon cup without him.
This family issues thing excuse is still there,I remember the days of the great KK 11 used to hear a lot of the same, plz……
Can’t comment, kuti waponta.

whatever is the case who cares about this bemba player, whenever he i given the ball he runs faster than the ball and does not see where the goal posts are. Let the coach forget about this kolwestan, even not to be considered in next matches, but the coach can consider to call another kakolwe, by the name of cliford mulenga

#8 mashindu mapuli yobe star nyo call..
Jacobs father was evacuated to South Africa after a serious illness. FAZ just be frank to avoid people insulting. His excuse is genuine this time.
Mashindu you are not a soccer fan. Don’t try to bring hatred into the Beautiful Game with your senseless yapping. Infact even answering you is a waste of time. Friends, pliz let this be the last comment to this hate filled gentleman. Remember they say “Never argue with a fool or else people may not see the difference between you and the FOOl!
mashindu grow up if your father is sick can you work.we just wish his father a speed recovery.
@ #15 withyour permision my last insult for chi mashindu star nyor call, wabe tall lay, chi calour, chi calour cah ba wistle. jacob may your dad get well soon. chi mashindu am not finished with you.
Alas it turns out that the man we have been defending just played 90 minutes for his club today (12/08/2012) in their 1 – 0 home defeat by Feyenoord. If this is the way Jacob is starting to behave then am not going to be supporting him. If he has a family problem it has to affect both club and country.
quick recovery for jacob’s dad. lets be fair bane. it will be good to see the big boy in action again. now’s not the time as his mind isnt right mwe bantu.
its high time FAZ called it quits with Jacob. i he doesnt want to play, we have enough ammunition in Mayuka, Kola, chris, Kalaba. just call Singuluma instead and forget about Jacob for good. na Mbesuma awamapo!
