Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard says he is not pleased with Zambia’s 2-1 loss to South Korea in Wednesday’s friend played in Seoul.
A shaky Zambia squad succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of a youthful looking Korean team that enjoyed massive home support.
In a statement posted on the FAZ website, Renard said it was not an easy game for his side which was missing five key players among them influential midfielder Rainford Kalaba.
“I was grateful for the practice match yet not satisfied with the result. It gave me an opportunity to see new players in different positions,” he said Renard however said he appreciated the friendly stating that it gave him an opportunity to see new players play in different positions.
He stated the Korea friendly was a good preparatory game ahead of the 8 September, Africa Cup qualifier match against Uganda set for Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
“It has been an intense preparation for Uganda; of course it’s never easy when you miss 5 Key players from the starting eleven. But so is football. We continue to work.”
And FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya said Zambia should take positives from the loss in Korea.
“Great opportunity for our boys to come and play against a seasoned South Korean team who has excelled at World Cup level and has been Champion in Asia. Excellent preparation we can take a lot of positives even in defeat.”
He added: “Herve would have taken many notes in readiness for Uganda. Thought we could have gotten an equalizer but the post denied us. We keep on working hard for the betterment of our Zambian Football.”
Good that am first to comment. atleast we saw how some players can do. we wil do better i kno RENARD.
Not a bad performance for a Half-team! At least we can field some new unknowns to unsettle other teams!
Renard in you we trust…in the game against Uganda try assemble the squad at least 2weeks prior and clinical finishing will b highly appreciated as every goal counts big-time.
So what projects has FAZ invested the $$$$$ from AFCON 2012…this is what should be on their glossy website all we see on this selfsame site is worshipping of Kalu and outdated news… update us on investments it shows transparency and accountability. Visit most FA websites on cyberspace and you never hear about their Presidents or Chairmen as they are merely administrators….what type of president can be micromanaging everything no wonder Felix missed his flight.
As for Renard he should put the blame squarely on his boss Kalu & FAZ, they should be more efficient & more persuasive in mobilizing and rounding up his foreign based players from their clubs especially on FIFA sanctioned friendly dates….FIFA will always be on your side.
Ati baAfricans champions! It was just a fluke we just dont have what it takes to be champions. Not yet we were just lucky that we have the cup. Shortest reign just like baPF. I rest my case!
fak u
FAZ nikatemba mwemfumu.Ntemba yaba Kalu.No structures in place tabashiba. What investment?????we run on good will and luck!once these evaporate we are back were we started from.Nobody should question what we are doing especially when our popularity is riding high and FIFA is on our side.
Recall mbesuma
You chaps dont appreciate anything you are so mad at Kalu and dont even consider his achievements. Surely how do you call winning 5 games in a roll at AFCON a fluke? you must be out of your mind. Anyway, congrats chipolopolo nice preps better things to come we played a good side and we noticed our mistakes.
Well Said buddy! in typical Jerabo fashion, some chaps dont appreciate success and would usually equate success to luck or black magic! We are african champions nevertheless and Kalu was a huge factor to us getting it…some of these morons should get it into their heads!
If Kalu and Renard were Tonga, they would receive praises. You have seen the comments some *****s make about the great Katongo. Oh, since I am a tribalist, please help me with Mayuka’s tribal, aha, aha.
Hand luck,
Uganda is coming
If u dont appreciate Zambia national soccer team better find another sport within Zambia, why do u want to owez put the blame on Kalu the great??? We are tired of u owez being negative, Naku Ndola mwikesaaaaaakooooo pa 8. Zambia won Afcon by a fluke? Why insult yoself, why wrere raising yo stinky mouth each tym Zambia scored???? For me its MANU, Zambia and Zesco untd and TP MAZEMBE just for now. Go hang yoself en leav BAKALU alone all u haters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chipolopolo we have waited and worked hard for the Africa cup for tooo long I do not see how this can be a fluke, only those who have no eyes and heart for their country do not appreciate the loss of blood for the sake of mother Zambia; forward with zambia Kalu, katongos, mwene and company the souls of Ucar, Alex chola, Derby, Kelvin Mutale and co. up there will never let you down……we are together in this!!!!
MaUcar #12 Iam with you. I wonder how many of these youngsters here realise that some of us are so old we have watched Africa Cup of Nations finals before they were born and we always saw Zambia losing or nearly making it. We were called “The best team never to have won the Nations cup” Now that title has passed to Senegal. We therefore appreciate the victory in Gabon and we are now looking forward to another win in South Africa.
Please don’t confuse blind hero worshipping with Patriotism, rightly so Kalu was a GREAT FOOTBALLER, I used to watch him at the Independent Stadium….but as a President of an organisation he is out of his depth and clueless…there is a reason why Pele is football ambassador and not involved in football administration. Once you wake up to those facts Zambian football will excel.
Wake up!!
chikala chobe!! Look at what he has achieved before you open comment fool!
FYI your FAZ was broke before the AFCON 2012, if your Kalu is such a genius of running organisations why didn’t his administration fundraise the funds immediately the qualified for AFCON 2012 BUT instead came to us the Zambian taxpayer to bankroll them…how can you forget this? You are part and parcel of that organisation you are a shareholder…appeasing Kalu won’t get you anywhere in fact it will cost your great grand children a chance to play in a major tournament in future due to the utterly bad shambolic “one man” management we have allowed to take place on our watch.
Wake up!
Good to hear that Renard is disappointed. I did not like the way we played. We are not active but re-active. No clean passes, the goal keeper mostly with not much concentration. I liked Katebe in the match though yellow carded. Mbola is coming back to form.
What about Sakuwaha, what wrong has he done. Y not feature him? I see a footballer in him just as I see Singuluma (though puffed up with pride). I have never seen a striker like Kelvin Mutale, a dribbler like Alex Chola!!!…..
Even against Ghana, we played reacting to their (Ghanian) threats and the loss to Sudan.
The win in Gabon was not a fluke. You cannot beat Senegal, Ghana and Ivory Coast and it is classified as a fluke. What yardstick is number 5 using? Going by results, this is our best national team ever, followed jointly by the 1974 and 1994 squads.
A bestfriend and so i are thinking about creating any blogging site, nevertheless many of us are unsure of what sort to implement. Most people mainly will certainly you should be uploading arbitrary material in relation to certainly not we’d like this website to be fun not to mention creative, not really a simple design and style..
Please don’t risk putting Chisamba Lungu in defence again! Sharp strikers like Klismann can punish you with at lease 4 or 5 goals by him!
Did Chisamba play in defense against SouthKorea?I must have been watching a different match.
No wonder the country can’t develop, there are so many expensive minds out there. some reasoning…awe sure mwe.
