Kalillo Kakonje and Nyambe Mulenga have been axed from Zambia’s 2013 Africa Cup qualifier against Uganda.
Kakonje of Napsa Stars and Mulenga from Zesco United are two of four players from Zambia’s 2-1 loss to South Korea on August 15 in Seoul axed from the September 8 third round, first leg qualifier.
Power Dynamos midfielder Joseph Sitali too has not made the cut together with defender Aaron Katebe of Hwange in Zimbabwe.
Golden Arrows defender Joseph Musonda has been included in the team despite a poor first half against South Korea that saw him substituted after the half-hour mark.
Lawrence Phiri of Angolan club Progresso Associação do Sambizang who did not make the trip to Seoul due to a visa hitch gets another chance to impress Herve Renard when the team goes into camp in Ndola on September 2.
Uganda will host Zambia in the return leg on October 13 in Kampala with the winner over both legs qualifying for the 2013 Africa cup to be held in South Africa from January 19 to February 10.

At last this Kakonje boy is out!
its a good move to leave out N. Mulenga and Kakonje. go Zamabia Go.
Go Zambia Go! Whats the update about the Sudan case? Hasn’t responded already?
Why does this ***** coach of yours hates Mbesuma so much-who is a better player-Chamanga or Mbesuma? Even when he gives him a chance, he still wants to embarass him in the eyes of the world by taking him out after having pushed him in as a substitute-HR must grow up, he is too temperamental as a coach so much that he would not survive coaching in Europe because they would not tolerate his temper!
Uganda – what about the Ebola?
Did they choose to have Ebola? It is not a bad thing to put oneself in someone’s position before making similar comments.
Let the Ebola boys come. We will disinfect them
Actually, my comment in 5.1 above applies more to you.
Its a good squad, we need not less than three goals and it is important to ensure that Uganda does not score an away goal. This will make our game in Uganda a mere formality but if we win by a single goal or worse still allow Uganda to score, we will have created problems. So all boys need to be told, there is no room for mistakes or tricks and Mweene should be reminded to balance his organisation of his defence and paying attention to the ball!!! Go Zambia Go!!!
the headline is misleading ba LT…PROOF READ please before misleading the world with wrong headlines. sitali is in the team. its nyambe mulenga and kalililo kakonje who have been dropped.
Aha, so Sitali and Kakonje have been dropped, Renard was influenced by Kalusha to drop Lozis/Tongas and leave Bembas only in the squad. That is why the Bembas claim to be superior. I think in football they are the best, we should give praise where it is due.
It is not about tribe, it is about regional development. The mines in the Copperbelt are associated with the development of football in the region. Other provinces with less industrial development are no so fortunate.Â
Include a local striker lyk Evans Kangwa or Lewis Macha and leav out that Chamanga charm boy of a boy. Next tym we should hav Mbesuma on that bench, he can start the game and be substitued later. Good luck boys, our support with u all the way…
Good move renard
Where is Kola and why not in the team?……………
Shocking selection!!! How do you expect local players to correct their mistakes if you don’t give them a chance to do just that. There are only three local players in this squad and two of them are inexperienced goalkeepers. Are you mad Renard!!! If evans kangwa, joseph sitali, and even a player i personnally dislike like nyambe mulenga are not given the right encouragement then how do they rise to the level of the other experienced pros. This is foolish thinking by Renard. Those *****s in FAz should advise him better when he is off tangent i mean even brilliant people make mistakes sometimes and need to be advised.
Only two players in the local league,is that good?
