Kitwe Academy Wins SA U17 Tournament

Kitwe Soccer Academy has won the 2012 South African Grimoldby Under 17 Youth Cup staged in Pretoria.

Kitwe Academy a member of the Faz sanctioned Copperbelt Amateur Football Association (CAFA) League thrashed Hammerskraal 4-0 in Sunday’s final to collect  Rands 7000 (K 4.2 million), a set of jerseys plus a trophy.


Releasing the tournament results,CAFA Secretary Peter Kasongo revealed that Kitwe Academy won the youth cup organised by Pretoria Sports Embassy with a perfect record.

On their way to the final, Kitwe Academy eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns youth  via a 4-1 scoreline in the semi finals.
At the quarterfinal stage, Kitwe Academy beat cup holders Wintervelt 2-0 while in the earlier stages the eventual champions had taught Sushanguve a 4-1 football lesson.

Kitwe Academy is reported to have missed the first group stage match after arriving late at the 12 team youth cup.

” We are pround of Kitwe Academy, this is a great achievement,” said Kasongo

  1. Congrats despite Age cheating in Zambian football been Rampant and seen as normal just like Corruption to the point where NRC’s are taken with Falsified ages. LOOK at some of these chaps from their bone structure and face you can clearly tell but this guy is OLD, no wonder our players don’t last on the international team cause their legs are tired when on paper their just 25.

    • its not about just winning disregarding the process. no wonder sata lied to the people because he was thinking like you just wanting the result.
