Zambia Kickoff Against Ethiopia

Share

Zambia will play Ethiopia in their opening 2013 Africa Cup Group C match in Nelspruit.

The African champions have been drawn against Burkina Faso, 1994 champions Nigeria and 1962 winners Ethiopia in Group C at next year’s finals.

Zambia will face Ethiopia on January 21 at Mbombela Stadium in sunny Mpumalanga in a 17:00 hours kickoff.

Herve Renard side will follow this up with a grudge match against Nigeria on January 25 at the same venue at the same kickoff time.

Nigeria eliminated Zambia from the 2010 quarterfinal on post-match penalties and there will be some scores to settle in that pool.

Zambia will wrap up against Burkina Faso in a 19:00 hours kickoff on January 29 in Nelspruit.

  1. No sane educated person cares about this LT

Certainly not a a PhD student like me
Going to bed , Mick is calling me

    Good night everyone

    Thanks

    • Finally, Mushota has been revealed …. For your integrity and good name’s sake, stay away from this forum. You spoil good conversations online and claim to be a PhD student when you are not. Watch this space….

    • It’s a guy who just want to bring fun in his style what I don’t understand is why you can live to ignore this mushota guy. He laughs every time you are sulking.

    • Who do u think we are???? Grade 5s. We read LT not because its true or false, its coz we care about our motherland n we need updates.  Silly!!

    • Group A – South Africa, Cape Verde, Morocco, Angola.

Group B – Ghana, DR Congo, Niger, Mali.

Group C – Zambia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Nigeria.

Group D – Ivory Coast, Algeria, Tunisia, Togo.

  2. #1..ha ha ha..what r u like..well go and do ur duties..u know y he is calling..u need to sort his bone out and not waste his time on LT..go on then..good nite.. but we don’t want to know the rest..now real business..fair draw but group D is truly a group of death..ivory coast, tunisia, algeria..i’ve not forgotten what desert fox did to us on the road to SA2010..they are annoyingly unpredictable and i would not be surprised if they survive the group stage. whatever happens in that group, we are facing them in the quarter finals if we make the quarters..its a tough road for sure to the finals..we need to collect 6 points in first 2 games to stay safe before the final group game with nigeria. all the best boys..prepare well coach

  3. I think i wil go to watch this time around. Ba lusaka na ba kitwe and not 4geting the lovely Z-mandolaz pliz arrange some tranports so that we go as a group in mpumalanga.southafrica, whether u like it or not we are going to land.

  4. Zambia 1- 0 Ethiopia ( Chris Katongo)
    Zambia 1 – 0 Nigeria (Chris Katongo)
Zambia 9 -8 Burkina Faso (Chris Katongo- MISS 1st PENAULTY others all others scores)
Zambia qualifies, Chris Katongo is the HERO!!

  5. Let’s just prepare adequately there is no such thing as an easy group as Champions were once upon a time underdogs…spare a thought for Nigeria in the Death group D!!lol

  6. looks like a comfortable group, but these teams have all made it because they are unpredictable. lets not be too relaxed or we will get a shocker! FORE WARNED IS FORE ARMED. lets prepare brethren.

  7. #. For your information there are bo penalties in the first round.!!! Please do nit show your ingnorance here. Makaka iwe !!

  8. #. 7 .For your information there are no penalties in the first round.!!! Please do not show your ingnorance here. Makaka iwe !!

  9. @ mushota ulishilu mwaiche iwe PhD from where? I wonder why u owez bring out issues which are negative to the topic.
I think u r kalihule chabe, come we overhaul you in side out if your boy friend has failed to.

Ok that aside, our guys should brace themselves and prepare adequately coz nigeria, with icifukushi cakulusa previous matches, we have to be careful. Otherwise I wish them the very best next year.

  10. guys when a friend makes a mistake let us learn to just correct someone without insulting them.am tired of reading insults and hate for our brothers and sisters, remember we are one people and we make mistakes but whenever a mistake is made,it should be corrected normally
suppose your children read your insulting comments, what would they think of you?

  11. @Don, you are right, man. But you know, Mr. NOSTRADAMUS is trying to perpetuate an unfounded claim of charms on Katongo. That guy is a leader and we should desist from scandalising our players.

  12. i dont put Ethiopia away in this group but being the first time to qualify these guys will be hot indeed. they are eager to win , and kick the world champion out. if we sit back relax and get screwed all the time like Mushota by thinking we are the best we will be shocked that everyman was made equal.

  13. I so much wanted Zambia’s group to be based in P.E. Nelspruit does not sit very well for those of us based in Cape Town. I guess we have to arrange some common transport.

  14. CAF is not transparent as South Africa conived with them. How can SA avoid all big names ( Ivory Coast, Zamba, Nigeria, Tunisia and Morrocco) in the first rounds and quarter finals. Think of group D it is a very tough group and no one is assured of coming out not even ivory coast. I Think the winner ofd this tornament will be from Group D or C, coz by the time they will be meeting the weaker teams except Ghana from group A and B, they would have been made stronger and gained confidence.

    • Tata imwe u nid a rebirth in football knowledge. How can u expect Zambia, S/Africa, Ghana and Ivory Coast who were top seeded to meet at the group stage???? Do u understand Seeding??? Awe sure fyakwishibila kubukulu…
Am sorry it may not be your fault sir…

    • Ignorant comment. It was done transparently on TV. The method was like raffle draw in determinig who plays who.

  15. 24

Well,… Zambia and South couldn’t be in the same group as they were both seeded in the first Pot…

I also thought about what you are thinking, but then again, Kalu is the one who did the final draw and landed us in this “mess”…..

That aside,… i think we have a good chance, but if we play like in the Ugandan game, i don’t see us going anywhere,…

Never mind the names,…. who would have thought Cape Verde could knock out Cameroon….

  16. @ 24, beh beh.

Are you aware that Morocco is in the same group as South Africa? Are you aware that Zambia and Ivory Coast were seeded and there4 could not be in the same group as South Africa? Plz check what teams were in which pot first and then post your comment.

  17. underrate Nigeria super eagle at your own peril.Do u actually think Zambia can defeat Nigeria super eagle?I wish them well next year

    • @ Kalu! What is Nigeria? We have humbled Ghana twice in a space of 6 MOONS…We showed Ivory Coast what we are made of…

  18. we nid to change our team, bring bak bena singuluma, cliff, lets start using Sakuwaha full 90 mins,Mayuka can come off the bench,Chris shud take a break so we can get the best out of Chisamba, boy has bn playin off position 2 many tymz

  19. Some pple are so excited abt the draw before in-depth analysis.Ther’s no small team in Grp C and dont expect a Chipolopolo walk-over.Those teams will be out to prove a thing or two abt the Def’ Champions and the later will actually be on the receiving end to get thru 2the Q-Finals.Their latest scoring rate is much better than that of Chipolopolo and if there is no tremendous improvement on the previous display (against Uganda),the Ethiopians will start from where the Sudanese ended, the hungry Nigerians will squeeze the complacency out of you and the Burkinabe will pull off their giant-killing game.

  20. @limpo, Ethiopia…First appearance???? It seems you have begun to learn and know about African football after the wonderful Zambian boys with their unbelievable team spirit have been crowned in 2012. Just for your information the house for African cup of nations was built by ETHIOPIA, SUDAN and EGYPT and Ethiopia is its tenth appearance. Just to add it is a 1962 Champion. I think it is enough.
