Napsa Stars coach Peter Kaumba says the 2012 Barclays Cup champions will maintain veteran players ahead of next season.
Kaumba said the veterans have to continue fighting for places in the team.
Several experienced players among them ex-Zambia internationals among them Harry Milanzi, Linos Chalwe and Songwe Chalwe helped Napsa to maintain their Super Division status and to retain the Barclays Cup.
“Yes, they will play even next season. They have to continue fighting for places. They don’t get these places on a silver plate. You have to combine veterans and young ones so that the veterans inspire young ones,” Kaumba said.
Napsa had a memorable 2012 Super Division campaign after bouncing back for the first time since 2001.
Makes sense that retiring players are sponsored by the pension fund. Then under20 players comes from Academies like Afrisports or Kalu-Stars.
Madalas in the team are too many, there is need to fuse in youngsters quickly. Good luck to Toshack and his team.
