Share

Zambia’s opponents at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Ethiopia on Monday held Tunisia to a 1-1 draw in a warm-up match in Qatar.
Chipolopolo and Ethiopia face off in both teams opening Group C match at the Nations Cup on January 21.
The Ethiopians came from behind to equalise in the 64th minute through Saladin Said after Tunisia took a 4th minute lead from a penalty converted by midfielder Oussama Darragi.
Last week Ethiopia beat Niger in another friendly at home while Zambia lost to Angola by 2-0 in Saturday’s warm-up match in South Africa.

Chipolopolo face Morocco in Tuesday’s friendly before taking on Norway four days later in Ndola.

Zambia and Ethiopia are in Group C alongside Nigeria plus Burkina Faso.

  1. Zambia should pull up her socks. Though it is a friendly match we need to be worried about the performance of our opponents. It is not too late to rectify our mistakes.

  2. Zambia has to demonstrate that they we are indeed champions of Africa where we need to win most matches and only held to draws at worst but being convincingly beaten 2:0nis a source of concern.

They are mere preparatory matches but they have huge psychological effect on the confidence of our players and even the opponents. We should have beaten Angola because Morrocco is quite a difficult proposition and even Norway will not be easy. I hope the technical bench restores winning mentality in the team early enough before morale in camp becomes defeated.

    Go Zambia Go!!!

    • Ethiopia are not pushovers. They are a stubborn team that is full of running throughout the period of play. Zambia will underrate Ethiopia at their own peril.

  3. we need to be worried with our team ,the big problem is not scoring we can lose in a training game but we need to prove that we can get goals, or we can hold our oponents

  4. These guys almost beat bafana-bafana becoz they underrated them. The only thing that comes to mind when u mention Ethiopia to Zedians is famine. But ask yourselves why they’ve produced more marathon champions & we have zero to show for

  5. For those gullible fans who believed the FAZ crooks about the Angola game being just an “International training match” well check again the FIFA Ranking table and check Zambia’s last match and how many points we gained…0points!!

  6. These are friendlies, one can not tell anything from these games. If you look at the Angola game, we tested our the defence statagies, get players match fit, so please dont worry if we lose to Swaziland, we are preparing. I would be worried if we were winning 4-0 and 3-0 and end up like Ghana.

  7. It is worrisome. Our opponents are winning their games and we are losing ours. We will lose very badly at the AfCon in South Africa. If u are good you are good. You can not be beaten and give training as an excuse. We will not even go through the opennning round. Watch this space.

    • i totally agree with you mike we cannot score because is a friendly or defend so that we cannot be scored which area are we working on pulizi

  8. Fili uko tuleya!!!!!!!!!!Losing at a time when we are about to play our first AFCON match on Jan 21, 2013. Anyway it could be a strategy and for me ba Zambia nalibeshiba bwino sana. They will surprise us again and this time we will beat the likes of Ghana and Ivory Coast convincingly.

Be patient bane, because the chipolopolo will explode again and some you will be singing ‘Zambia balange ukuteya bola’. Watch the space and bambi mukesa njeba ati kanshi I know what Chisamba Lungu can do to Ethiopia………..Tekeni fye imitima bane, elo tekwesha ukuponta bwangu pantu mukabwela muku supporter!!!!!!!

Take heed that no man deceives you, because Zambia is Zambia and they are going far once again………….Go Zambia go………

  9. is the zambia v morroco game being televised plse who ever has infor advise.
LET us watch this devil coach will do with his devilish heart as he cannot forgive or forget.

    • I dont think that ethiopian will give up easily,Look 2012 and the last match tunisia and Niger they are still strong team, even they they lead nigerian 2-1 in 2012 afcon though nigerian score last minute and ended 2-2, They have sharp attackers and talented player as i saw them in benin and kartum and quater their shot is just goal, i dont think Zambia will win this game.

  13. Zambia has it within with the right motivation all is possible save this coz u are gona want to paste it for someone once the cup starts.

  14. Zambians were Champions of 2012. That we know all. The point is what have they achieved in the matches following last year’s tournament. It is of no use to boast of players playing in Europe. Ethiopians are coming back after 31 years. They play with care and a high motivation to win. Surely, the Ethiopians will dethrone Zambia.
