The planned January 15 friendly between Zambia and Namibia has been put off.
Zambia were due to face Namibia in their planned final friendly next Tuesday at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Faz spokersperson Erick Mwanza confirmed on Thursday.
Mwanza said Saturday’s warm-up match against Norway will be Zambia’s final preparatory match ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
“We won’t play Namibia,” he said.
“We see no need to go ahead with it. We played Angola, Moroccco and we are now playing Norway.”
Meanwhile, Norway are expected to land in Ndola on Friday lunchtime on the same flight with Chipolopolo prior to Saturday’s friendly at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Excellent decision. The players need to recharge their batteries after the Norway. Hopefully we will beat them in this friendly.
This is a great decision. You have done the correct thing FAZ
Interesting indeed and i guess this Norway game will help to seriously assess the preparedness of the team for their defence of the cup.
My emphasis is that the back wings(2 &3) should be critically play a pivotal role in suppling balls to the strikers.
Its also time we found a formular to partner Jacob and Mayuka for deadly goals and this should be seen on Saturday.
By and large, all the best!
Good. Let’s preserve those powerful legs for the main encounter. Bravo coach and team. Wishing you the best
Good decision, no need exposing boys to posssible injuries, Norway game is a must win!!!
Well said people. I love you all.
Go, Zambia, Go!
You have feared NAMIBIA Sure!!!!!!!!!!!! what more when u meet mighty ethiopia?
I love Zambia, GO….Zambia…..Go! At least for 90 minutes, Chipolopolo makes us feel better and we forget a few challenges we face in our beloved country.
Zambia losing to Norway? No way! Go Zambia, go!
The Msanzi lost to Norway just a few days ago. This is soccer and anything is possible if a team underates its competitor.
I think Norway have just come for Safari.
very good idea may God bless but though am zambian i support nigeria.
brave decision FAZ. we need our boys to rest befor afcon.esppecialy Kalaba, jacob, and mayuka. dont expoz them to too much physic at dis momemnt. we are strongly counting on them
Way to go FAZ.. No points for Friendly… We need AFCON Points… We have already bought tickets for Chipoloplo games .. Zambia all the way to th finals..
Good decision as we near the tournament we need to stop these preparatory in case of developing injuries.
I beg to differ with the decision. We should have played Namibia because we had arranged with them earlier than Angola. Its so disappointing and shameful to chop Namibia just like that. Instead we should have asked Namibia to play us on Jan 5….Nikupusa uko and next time ifyabupuba tefyo ….
Playing small teams is where I know Zambia’s weaknesses, because they fail to perform totally. I have seen this happening so many times e.g Comoros vs Zambia in Moroni, Zambia vs Chad in Lusaka, Zambia vs Sychelles in Lusaka and so many small teams that have proved to be problematic to our National team.
Namibia is such kind of a team am talking about and playing this team would have given us an insight of how well prepared we are to play teams like Ethiopia…..Muleichindika bane pakuchinja…
AMADOU (FROM COTE D’IVOÍRE) ON SUPERSPORT PROPHESIED THAT ZAMBIA WOULD BE FIRST CHAMPIONS TO BE ELIMINATED IN 1ST ROUND. THIS IS THE SAME CHAP WHO PREDICTED A CRICKET SCORE OF COTE D’IVOIRE VS ZAMBIA FINAL LAST YEAR.
Mamadou is just noise gong, head to head Zambia had the better part with Ivory Coast, Peterside ( former Nigerian Keeper) said it all that ” whoever underates Zambia is a fool”
Its to xpose da players to a team missing da AFCON finals, they may injure our players.Gud move
Its not gud to xpose da players to a team missing da AFCON finals, they may injure our players.Gud move
oh why you Zambian cancel friendly match against Namibia??? kkkkkkkk you lost your winning mentality and confidence kkkkk see u S.A. We will kick you, take your pride!!!
