  1. Jacob should have startd th n mbesuma comes on as a supper sub. Otherwise its a good line up we can only wish them the very best.Go Go Zambia.

    • What about the goal just before the whistle? football is a funny game it’s easy to sit at home and critisize!!!

    • We’ve turned the pressure on ourselves, not because we had no good material but because of a coach who doesnt know how to combine players:

      1. Chris Katongo should not even finish a full half
      2. Kalaba is a shadow of his AFCON 2012 self
      3. We were very bad in the areas of: precision of ball passing, taking free kicks and corners
      4. We removed Joseph Musonda who was a headache for Ethiopia and made it easy for them
      5. Bringing Mayuka in with only 5 minutes left is an insult to both the country and the player himself

  2. And what time is kick Off Time GMT? Who posts these posts? And why doesn’t the right click disabled on this website?

  3. FAT Boy Mbesuma is in , well chap you worked hard and I think Renard has picked a leaf from the way you are used at Orlando Pirates. Score a hatrick to silence us all

  4. I think the coach has gone for experience…but i too feel that either mayuka or jacob should have started then Collins later!! Go zambia Go

  5. Please STOP, just STOP this football thing

LT we don’t care if Zambia wins or not!
There is no money in football, money is with education degrees, masters PhD

Having a page of these is abysmal unacceptable and sets wrong precedence
It is similar to me posting irreverent things online, which I don’t. People would be upset, and I am upset

I speak on behalf of a lot of Zambian intellectuals, we don’t care much about what is happening to a football team
Will football put food in your mouth? Do people playing this sport care about us NO

On behalf of people who are intelligent, educated and are as tired as I am.

    stop please STOP

    Thanks
    Mushota

    • Footballers that are plying their trade outside Zambia are bringing in more forex to the country and giving better financial support to their families and contributing to Zambia’s GDP than yourself. Of course Education is important, but a career in soccer these days is more of a financial decision than than the last resort that it used to be many years ago. So, stop thinking that everyone on the soccer ptich is illiterate!

    • Chipwedi, behave ai. with what money do you expect people to travel with, hw do they eat from there? you president offered K10,000,000 for the players, half that could have gotten enough supporters there.

    • Clearly the Chipolopolo were playing against an Ehiopia they knew not, an Ethiopia that is not going to be a push-over in this tounarment. Your sympathy of us is appreciated. But you will do well to reserve it for your own.

  6. There are no Zambians supporters in the studium, why? South africa is near Zambia than Ethiopia. Ethiopians have come in big numbers from very far to support their team.

  7. This Africa cup wont be easy……., everyone wants to win, atleast we scored first and didnt loose,we should have defended that goal, thankx ba mwene mulibakali!

  8. iyo kwena ba zambia twasebana ee…can chisamba lungu not be in the next starting lineup …awe shua atleast wev won it before..now we have to win our next game at all costs ..cos things look sooo bad

  9. Another draw against 10 men we the defending champions fail to win AGAIN..sloppy defending, no width and a terrible bumpy pitch. Serious lack of preparation evident!!

  10. For those of you who don’t know why Kalusha Bwalya is called “Great Kalu,” he could make a difference in times like this. When you look at the stature of the current Zambian national team, you would cry. “So skinny” and it is for this reason that we have never beaten countries like Nigeria even at their worst. There is literally nothing you can do with this team even if you were Mourinho. The boys lack talent… let’s face it.

    • Agreed, Nigeria are beatable. But let’s see it: it is only 4 days from now. Chipolopolo need to improve, or else they are out.

Apart from the rough-play, Ethopia played well. Who knows, they may do better against Burkina Faso.

    • @39.1 Don’t over react. They can only get hold of the money if they bring the trophy back to Zambia.
This is just the beginning, a shaky start might not be such a bad omen after all.

  11. Ultimately the problem is Katongo always wanting to shoot when he clearly could have passed the ball in the eighteen area. He needs to be unselfish like Kalaba. Against 10 men it does not argur well for the champions. For Ethiopia this is as good as a win and if Mweene did not save that penalty we could have lost the game. Over confididence in the Zambian camp. You cannot just play well in the first half. This is quite a bad start for the tournament especially when you are trying to defend the trophy.

    • I agree, that Mukuka Mulenga showed some skill. He brought life back to the offense although it was too late in the game

    • What exactly did your Jacob do in the more than 20 mins he was on to warrant a starting place? He was shocking to say the least.

  12. Glad its over. Can we now turn to more productive pursuits like building classes instead of stadiums and giving incentives to nation builders instead of players.

  13. That was a very disappointing performance. Our defense needs to improve, midfield was a disaster. I wonder what Chris K was doing on the right side of the field. Players looked tired. Looking ahead, there’s no option but to win the next two games. Ethiopia impressed. The game may have ended as a draw but they certainly won the day.

  14. That was a dreadful performance, Chipolopolo. If you keep playing like that… you will be out shortly. What went wrong? Drunk too much or ate too much? Were you paid (those thousand dollars) already? Too sloppy; lazy shoots; and, of course, you let in a goal that shouldn’t have gone in. Pathetic performance, indeed!!!!

At personal level: Jacob Mulenga could not head in the ball, yet so close to the goal mouth; and he couldn’t shoot straight at the goal-mouth either. Come on, you missed last year’s game; please don’t fluff this one!

  15. hr should leave katongo on the bench and give the captainship to mweene. Mukuka mulenga should be in the starting lineup alongside kalaba. Mbesuma, mayuka should be strikers not that jacob mulenga no impact whatsoever. The defence needs to be plugged as well especially nkausu. Well we are still in contention.

  16. Ethiopia Out played our defenders on the runs, they were too quick for Zambia defense in first half, otherwise skills on the ball Zambia was far much better than Ethiopia, but as usual Zambia failed to shine again. coach misfired by substituting Musonda for Jacob, that was wrong sub and wrong tactical approach by Zambian technical bench

  17. wooh! what a coach we have in zambia. clueless.
honestly yhe guy could not see that chris was a passanger throughout the game, sinkala was fumbling with the ball in the middle of the pack and could not string passes with anyone.
that coach should have tactically subsituted either musonda or sinkala immediately after that red card and introduced in a striker so as to put pressure on the ethiopians.
but with our coach, katwishi mwandi.
lets just pray that its not a first round exit as iam seeing it looming.

  18. It was a poor decision to remove Musonda. The coach should have removed Chansa and Katongo for Kasonde and M. Mulenga. Kalaba should improve in the next game, he wasn’t very impressive today.

  19. ZNBC is the most useless tv station on earth. Looks like from DG down to the clearner, no one works. With the coming of CC as director has worsened matters. lack of programming planning on the part of znbc has been a thorn issue for so long. Today we could not listen toour own national atherm coz smooth something was still getting comments from panelists then followed by never ending ads and not to talk about the miss of the official openning. time and planning are crucial to the survival of a business.we always have over running of programmes each time there is a football match coz those lazy znbc staff who are paid for doing nothing cant plan their work

  20. I think ethiopia are a good team. We did our very best. Lets hope we can look at our defence. Everyone is leaving it for nsunzu.a draw is not bad.

  21. Playing at a pace of 200km per hour for ninety minutes, Ethiopia’s agile Walya Antelopes were both prolific and too fast for Zambia’s copper bullets. Coming out of such a game with a one all draw was a feat deserving appreciation.

  22. Renard is now big headed … he underated the starvation striken ethiopians.. why remove a defender and replace him with chisamba lungu… i think zambia played well except for a stupid tactical blunder by the french,….

    • The coach killed us, how do you remove a defender when you are leading? Musonda was better than Nkausu, still we needed to consolidate our defence as we were leading. But the foolish coach decided to weaken it, shear incompetence..

  23. Bane now that Nigeria has drawn with Burkina Faso we are still in the competition if we take the next game with the seriousness that it deserves. When you play as reigning champs you have to play with some clout i.e. different than the other teams. What we saw today I must admit was below par. That Jacob Mulenga and Chris Katongo napapata do not include them in the starting line up. We cannot afford to be taking a gamble like this at a competition of such magnitude when we have not only a cup but a reputation to defend.

  24. Team sports is 85% coaching and playing and the other 15% is luck that is why it is so hard to repeat. But best of luck to Zed…..

  25. Sinkala kicks balls anyhow. Can’t make a decent pass. Still believes in kicking the ball forward with no direction.

  26. the performance was sad to say the least. think mweene has been carrying this whole team on his back. the players have been doing nothing. the defense is especially lacking

  27. Ati ma champions …sluggish zambians. Only Egyptians are true champions. They managed to defend the cup three times. atase fya bupuba. How can 10 men whach you. mwe fipuba mwe.

  28. Mushota I agree with you. I don’t care if Zambia wins or loses. I care about education, health and hygynie and that is why the 90 thousand dollars promised is misplaced when mothers and sick children are sleeping on the floor in the corridors at Arthur Davison hospital and the oxygen machine is down at UTH

  29. These typically focus on familiarization as opposed to memorization. This keeps children and kids engaged without having a sensation like they are learning. Thanks
