    • Herve is hilarious, he bench Hichani and convert Nkausu to center back for first time of his life, in crucial final match?
Next match he should bench umwaiche Sinkala and start with BEMULLE!!!

    • What a shame! Our technical bench is one of gamblers rather than tacticians. We have the capacity to put one of the strongest squads in this tournament if the coaches respect the country more than the aspirations of some individual players. Some of the clear shortcomings in the Nigeria game:
      1. Chisamba Lungu is a liability when you play him as defender
      2. Let’s bye goodbye to CHRIS Katongo, the lad has contributed much to our soccer, but his time has come to let others carry on the button
      3. Anyone watching Sakuwaha will wonder why coaches keep him on the best. This boy must be in the starting line up
      4. Why do we play a reactive game where we can only be compelled to use the right players when we are in trouble? Going forward, we’ve a lot of homework to do in the defence dept, coz…

  1. Where is Mbesuma? I cannot locate his name in the line up and on the bench! Ngatwalusa, we will say donchi to Renard!!

  2. uyu coach nabamutuma chikalahh chakweh,ap ngachibika jacob mulenga, collins mbesuma na mayuka. iyi system of playing one striker is a flop.this game needs goals and not defensive ifima draw

  3. This is the best line up Zambia could ask for. Zambia needs speed and this line up gives it speed. Mbesuma is too slow and when he plays we are as good as playing one man down. He is only effective when he has the ball inside the 18 otherwise he wastes a lot of balls for the others. Go Zambia Go!! Zambia 1 Nigeria 0

    • You are right we need the pace in this game and that should be our game plan and we should utilize the chances that we create

  4. How come all the teams in all the 4 groups are sitting on 1 point each after the 1st rounds at this tournament – is this a mere coincidence? it’s the first time I have heard of such a scenario, pretty remarkable.

Anyway good luck to the boys tonight.

  5. The defence does not look very good we are missing another central defender who is going to partner sunzu is it Joseph Musonda, he has never played in the central role for zambia anyway i wish the team and the technical bench good luck. Go Zambia Go show them what the copper bullet is made of.

  6. Renard seems to have sold these matches or is it only me hallucinating? it is just my premonition anyway. The way he commented on the Ethiopia draw?!

  7. Jeez, you Zambians are stone-broke; you mean to say you can’t go to South Africa and cheer the team. Zambia, now I know I was right to leave! All I see in internet tabloids are homicides, poverty and gibberish coming from his Senseless the President of the Republic of Zambia Chilufya Sata Michael!
On a serious note, let’s get serious: every realist and Zambian worth their salt knows that The Zambia National Soccer Team won’t retain the African Cup, on the other hand, they will return without the African Cup! (Now, look at that PF’S communist stupid fanatic face like ‘what in the hell is this blogger talking about?’)

  8. The odds are against you Zambians. In today’s game against Nigeria, nobody’s gonna bet on a Christian beating a Muslim!

    • mmm ba makavelli u bringing ur christian vs muslim nonsense here..sorry thats not our struggle..zambians are ‘people’ we r not an entity that masquerades as a country full of brain washed savages..good luck with ur propaganda!

  9. Zambia is enjoying early posession… Kalaba just worsted a chance.

There are too many long balls though from both sides… not much passing.

    • What have the said that is racist? Are you listening to Eurossport link on LT? I have only heard them speaking about long balls and not much passing, is that what you call racist?

    • Note use of the word “obliquely”. As for the rest of it: well if you don’t see it nothing I say can make you see it. So enjoy the game my fellow Zambian.

  10. What is he talking about, only Barca passes the ball around in Europe, the rest they play one man striker and play long balls. Africans (especially Zambia and Nigeria) used to play passing football in the 90’s… not sure what’s happened over time.

    • Gotta agree with you… we will rue all these chances. We are enjoying the possession thus far but nothing is coming out of it.

  11. We can easily beat these Nigerians. So far they haven’t done anything that makes me think they are any good or rather better than us.

  12. It’s a disappointing 1st half, apart from Mweene Zambia have not shown any spark befitting defending champions. From the 4 or so wasted chances they could have scored at least 2. I hope the coach will do something during his pep talk.

  13. Kalaba is amazing… Nigeria is sheety. The first half goes to Zambia even though we haven’t got anything to show for it.

I like the workmanship and the hassling from Zambia (exactly how they slayed Giants pretenders last year in Ghana and Ivory Coast)… it looks scruffy at times but hey it works.

  14. So far i haven’t seen anything super about these so called super eagles.Although there’s no end product i’d say zed has been the better side.

  15. My reaction when when I saw that Nkausu was a central defender today was wow. If we go back to the penalty we conceded against Ivory Coast in the final,it was a similar play against Nkausu, just 1 sec late to the ball. I would rather play him at right back and let Joseph Musonda come in the central position. So far it looks like 2 overated teams without a plan saying a draw would be okay.

  16. Why is everyone called ‘Emmanuel’ in our Zambian team? 🙂

By the way which part of Zambia is ‘Mbola’ from? Lozis call ‘ball’ ‘Mbola’ 🙂

  17. We need to complete these attacks… gents forget it we will be out of these games unless something dramatic happens in the next 10 mns.

  18. @ Distant Drums… this second commentator dude is too negative… now I understand what you meant. While he is right, he is just too disrespectiful.

  19. I think the ref was just making up for that first penalty he gave to Nigeria I have to say… luck we. I’m not complaining, I will take the results 🙂

    • Ever heard of the term “football intelligence”? For example , when a team is under pressure , intelligent players will strive to maintain possession of the ball so as to remove the “stingy” from the game. The Zambians were instead inviting trouble on to themselves because they were “hoofing” the ball back to the Nigerians and inviting trouble onto themselves. @ Mwiponta Mukabwela, you don’t need to be a footballer to be able to tell a bad footballer from a good footballer. I am quite sure you are capable of judging a good president from a bad one despite never having been a President yourself!

    • Because it’s not knock out or elimination stages yet – last 16, ¼; Semis and Finals. Group stages don’t have extra or penalty shootout times.

You probably watch Rugby or Basketball or American Football, right?

  20. Bravoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

We are very proud of you our Chipolopolo boys.

Nigerians spewed a load of rubbish now let them eat their words.

  21. Another draw still no win for the “champions”…we are going to rely on the outcome of the next game in the group!!

  22. I thought we go to penauties, sudden death or anyting, congrates anyways, nigeria are a big name you cant say it was a bad resuilt.

  23. Between Nigeria and Zambia who are the current African champions. Excuse after excuse won’t help the Zambian team. Celebrating a draw, honestly? What next? Zambians are the champions and we should be upset with a draw.

  24. yaa now let ethiopia vs burkina faso be 0-0
and nigeria vs ethiopia also 0-0
then zambia vs burkina faso will be 1-0 at the very least
then wel advance to the next stages :-)my predictions

    • Either way there is nothing to celebrate about…as we were pathetic wasting clear cut chances in front of goal only saved by the ref who gave us a penalty when it wasn’t.

    • I agree with you totally, that penalty awarded to Zambia should not have been, even the repeats in slow motion did not show what the infringement was. Anyway these things happen in football.

  25. Come on guys those with knowledge what has to happen in the next game for Zed to advance? Jay Jay says something about the outcome of the next game being important.

  26. It was a fair play they both had great chances to score but couldn’t capitalize on them. I thought Katongo was bit selfish on the edge of eighteen box, the guy did not give passes to open team mates he just wanted to shoot.

  27. Sadly it all depends on the outcome of the next game in the group…really disappointing that as “champions” we should be relying on outcomes of other games. You wonder what these guys were doing in training the past few days; too many amateur “school boy” errors. HR should now swallow the bitter pill and bench Chris as he hasn’t learned anything new in training since the last game.

  28. We need to move on to the next match after thanking God for today!! God has really been on our side. Bless you all Zambians.

  29. Watching Burkina Faso Vs Ethiopia. Please twapapapata Burkinabese slow down on those Ethiopians.! If you score too many goals you might make our chances of qualifying difficult because we shall need the same number of goals against you but judging by the way you are playing it is not possible for anyone to score three goals against you. Zambia, the odds are stacked against us!

  30. What are the permutations for Zambia to qualify assuming that Nigeria will beat Ethiopia by say 2 goals to zero. This is looking tricky…

    • No many permutations mate, we just have to beat Burkina faso. If we draw and Nigeria draw with Ethopia it will come down to goals scored on the night e.g if we draw 0-0 and Nigeria draw 1-1 with Ethiopia we will be eliminated. We have to score goals.

  31. this is why i laugh at those primitive zambians who adore and worship the english premier league which is full of unskilled players. Those useless biased english commentators were trying at all costs to put zambia down because of those chelsea players in the nigerian team. Its no wonder even england can never win the world/euro cups because of over hipping from the british media. Playing in the english premier league makes an african player lose his skills coz what obtains in the epl is running like a rabid dog from one end to the other. Zambia out played nigeria and if nigeria was better as those riffruff commentators wanted the world to believe why didnt nigeria score 4 goals.

    • British commentors were spot on especially on the technical aspect of the game….our players were quick to kick the ball forward after a few passes and do not cheat yourself in thinking that Nigeria was outplayed. We were absolutely rubbish…Burkina Faso have managed to do the job we lamentably failed to do as so called champions. Just win games then talk…

  32. Bring it on Burkinabes. What you did to Ethiopia shud be done against zed (4-0) on your upcoming clash.Amazambians need to get back to building classrooms and cleaning our dirty towns and leave football to other nationals. Please eliminate zambians.

  33. We need to beat Burkina faso. No two ways about it – I am assuming Nigeria will beat Ethopia. We are treading on shells. I am not happy with our start – especially the lack of ‘fire-power’ upfront. I think, inspite of our indvidual skills, proper decision making around the 18′ area leaves much to be desired.

  34. jay jay can see you have a sick inferior head like those two english commentators. seems you dont anything about football.
