NAREP gives reasons for the resignation of their two key members

PRESS STATEMENT

THE RESIGNATION OF THE NAREP NATIONAL SECRETARY AND TWO OTHERS

It is with great disappointment that we learn of the resignation of our National Secretary Mr. Mike Muyawala, Our Media Liaison Mr. Chilufya Luchembe and our chairman for mobilization Mr. Probby Chama. It is not surprising or worrying that the trio decided to leave the party and we wish them well as they take their next step.

We wish to bring it to the attention of the Nation that this resignation does not stop us as a party from prosecuting Mr. Muyawala and Mr. Chilufya for the money they failed to account for that was set aside for the campaigns in Mpongwe, a seat we were confident of winning as a party but failed because of the high levels of irresponsibility and lack of honesty demonstrated by them. We therefore wish to advise Mr. Muyawala and Mr. Luchembe to account for the money meant for campaigns but were diverted to their own pockets because of selfishness. I further wish to remind them that our party NAREP will start disciplinary charges against them until they account for the funds in question. It is very unfortunate that after rushing to the media, they failed to give reason as to why they were resigning from the party.

May I also state that their resignation is a blessing to the party as it came at the right time when the party is shaping itself with credible leadership that can be trusted by the Zambian people to run the affairs of this country. We are very much confident that the party has remained intact and will even be much stronger without the trio.

NAREP is a party that was founded on principles and shall remain principled in all that we do. With this in view, it is rather difficult for leaders who do not believe in our values which are excellence, integrity, responsibility, service, equity, humility, commitment, sense of community to remain in our party. We want to demonstrate good leadership and earn the respect and recognition from the people of this great nation.

In conclusion, we wish to inform the nation that NAREP will make public the next course of action that we intend to take against Mr. Muyawala and Mr. Chilufya. May I also worn Mr. Muyawala and Mr. Chilufya to stop issuing any statements about our party and instead concentrate on thinking of how they will pay back the funds the party entrusted in them to conduct campaigns in Mpongwe, but were regrettably not used for the intended purpose.

  1. Ok so nika party for enriching ….? U can’t even vote for a guy. Guys reach atleast 55yrs if u are to presido, if u will ever be?

    • It’s a mindset like yours that is stiffling Zambia’s dev’t. Yo 55year and over leaders have brought nothing new to the table. Their archaic styles of governance have done us no good. We should wake up and usher in leaders with a fresh perspective

  2. narep just join upnd and you make alot of sense to the many zambia.if you are to remain as a party then change your approach to the political game in zambia.this is not america.politics is not abov decorations and being clean, its about sacrifice..grow up bane

    • Get real anti PF……UPND is only successful in the southern province…why should NAREP join them……besides NAREP has different values from UPND……non violent, don’t oppose anything the govt does even though its got the benefits of all Zambians.

    • Anti pf you do not have data my friend,NAREP is far better than UPND which is on nose dive loosing seats left right center with MP’s ditching to become PF,they are looking for a sensible party but NAREP is principled unlike you, open up your eyes you are drowning…….

  3. Notice he doesn’t say anything about why Mr. Probby Chama left. Chipimo is a lightweight who cannot make it in Zambian poiltics. He lucks Charisma and Vision. Let him run for Parliament is the proper place for him.

    • MMD president is not an MP, UPND president is not an MP, Heritage president is not an MP, PF president(now our Head of State) was not an MP, why do you expect NAREP president ti stand for MP? No need to be personal

    • I disagree with you that Chipimo has no vision but agree with you that he is a political underweight and lacks charisma. People aspiring for the presidency must first achieve exemplary sacrifice in public office before attempting. That is one reason why young Zambians are failing to make it because they think education alone is a passport to leadership. Politics is about the grass roots. If your message does not resonate with them, yours is an effort in futility. That’s why Sata continues to enjoy popularity against his younger rivals HH etc.

    • @jock… what are you talking about??? chipimo lacks charism?
hahahahah, chipimo has everything to make the best president zambia has ever had, but the problem with you people and people like despite being exposed to advanced in life in UK, you are still addicted to 90 days BOZA… to an extent that you sugar coat it as charsma…..hahaha

    • Ndobo, don’t blame the voters for not voting for Narep. It means it has nothing to offer to the people. Same with upnd, they have nothing to offer yet. How can narep start criminalising it s members in the media instead of acting on the problem by formally charging the leaders? It just tell you that the leadership is yet to mature. Small monies are stolen, what about big monies when naren becomes ruling party? These pseudo parties need to find some s26 to quickly grow otherwise they will remain stunted. Update me please where is narep represented in Zambia? Apart from in naren only? Don’t forget that during the presidential elections, rumour has it money was stolen also. So, is this the party yapamutima? Niyapapocket.

    • @munzao wa alabi…. do you know that being popular does not always mean you are the right person for the job?? you know that Hilter was very popular with `something to offer`? jesus still remains unpopular to this day, so donot just walk with amasses in the name of popularlity you will end up in hell. mind you sata is not a popular president, he didnot get 50+1 plus in the just ended elections, meaning that majority of the zambians didnot vote for him.

  4. “It is with great disappointment that we learn of the resignation of…”

“May I also state that their resignation is a blessing to the party…”

So which is it and how can NAREP flip-flop within the space of two paragraphs? That’s got to be some record (….even for PF!).

    • I think the key word is ‘learn’ which implies they were unhappy the guys ran to press but get to publicly kick them for it in a not so subtle exposé.

  5. “I further wish to remind them that our party NAREP will start disciplinary charges against them until they account for the funds in question”

How can you initiate disciplinary charges against people that have left an organisation?

    • You have to be so dull as not to realise that one can! Quick examples, FTJ, & currently RB is resisting as much as he can, to be brought before the law!

    • surely then in such an instance we say “criminal proceedings” which connote an external process and not “disciplinary charges” which connotes an internal process. I think it was a legitimate question. This sort of vituperation is uncalled for.

  6. @jock
You are spot on! Umwaiche Chipimo including uyu mwaiche chilema called hh can do better! Unfortunately they have failed to deliver the message to the grassroot! these so called educated chaps despite their insolence they dont even vote! Most of them are just barking from a distance and are not in zambia! And when these political under weights read the comments on sites like ZWD they feel very popular! Mind you, most voters dont even know the existence of ZWD! If you want to capture them, go to them, eat with them and dont get your mineral water, feel and share their pain! This is where Sata scores political points and he is untouchable on that one! Good luck baiche!

    • Very wise and timely advice. How many Zambians have access to internet and how many even know about ZWD. At least you ask anyone about the post, they know. Academic qualifications or riches are not the cornerstone of getting the presidency. Actually most Zambians have an aversion for the so called learned rich.

    • HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT IS HAPPENING IN KABWE THE TAXI VENDORS ARE BEATING UP THE POLICE. THEY ARE DISAPPOINTED WITH PF GOVT JUST COUNT YOUR DAYS YOU PF DAYS ARE NUMERED YOU FAILURES

    • @ pweto you are right,HH is very popular on ZWD and it’s useless editor’s unlike PF and our President who are not popular on online media but very in touch with the electorate.just wondering why is it so like,a thought to digest.

  7. @ Mbala mafia
Sungukila kuko we chipena wee! Who told you that Sata has never been MP? No wonder you are jumping up and down like a grass hopper in Mbala! Verify your facts mwaiche!

    • Simbwa kapoli……of course I know that SATA was MP for Kabwata the point I was making is that if you are standing for the office if president you don’t have to be an MP.

  8. Just thinking. Did these guys also write to NAREP that they are resigning or just rushed to the media. Why steal money and run away. Corruption has killed this country and I hope that NAREP will make an example out this. What a shame to the defectors. We will wait to hear more updates.

  9. “HH and Chipimo are not popular with the grass root”. How can they be when they are honest enough not to espouse what they can’t do in 90 days? How can they be popular when their message to the “grass root” is that the damage to the national economy takes years of real hard work and sacrifice instead of the “90 day instant nshima formula”? How can they be popular when they espouse a message that ownership of 3 rifles doesn’t have a multiplicity effect while owning 3 heifers has?

  10. NAREP is showing all the signs of an immature party crying baby and practicing the same kind of politics which Zambians are tired of. Like PF, they rush to the press and accuse the people who have just left them of stealing or abuse or something terrible. NAREP and PF are one and the same, you can even tell from their behavior. I don’t know whether it is a northern thing – which is quite likely. Those three guys resigned and announced their resignation through a very mature statement. There is no need for NAREP to come out and wash its dirty linen in public, it simply shows it is still very immature and also promises to come into power and practice the same old uncivilized politics. Why didn’t they deal with the issue quietly. Anyway, you are NAREP and just a small party…

    • The simple reason why a certain party which is supported by triblelist will never get into power is because of such thinking, instead of talking about real issues they change and talk about Northern….no wonder you are loosing popularity and MPs including seats, watch and see who is more popular because you are too dull to see and notice that you run the party on tribe and you will keep on fighting and making bad comments when others are winning and celebrating.mature and change and learn to be objective, even in football when one team manager looses gets gathers some courages to congratulate the winner why?it take mature serious educated in the mind and civilised, that cant happen in upnd always negative and bitter like you have swallowed indian chili.
