Christopher Katongo has joined Zambia in training in Johannesburg.

The Zambia captain joined camp this morning after flying in from his base in China at second division club Henan Jianye.

Katongo has a individual workout before joining his team mates for the rest of Tuesday morning’s practice.

His arrival completes the list of call-ups for Zambia’s march 24 away 2014 FIFA world Cup group D qualifier against Lesotho in Maseru.

Meanwhile, defender Stopilla Sunzu is in a race to be fit for Sunday’s game.

The TP Mazembe defender arrived in camp on Sunday with a knee injury.

Zambia lead Group D on six points, Ghana are second on three points, Sudan is third with one point, level with bottom placed Lesotho after two rounds of matches played.

    • Ba Kopala tekanyeni, this guy is a fighter, he may not have the skill right now but he is a fighter and sometimes in winning, you need a fighter leader

    • This Mo Taim is fun mwe. Mulekeni Katongo please, just too much going on in his life. His young brother lost job, and he is married to an expensive Zambian girl. Chris need to help his family.
But I miss to watch Felix Katongo & Kalaba in midfield.

  1. This is just laughable how can we have so much dead wood in the squad; an ageing captain whose club has been relegated to the lowly Chinese 2nd division, a unfit club-less central defender, a striker who does not even feature on the bench of his team. Christopher Katongo should have been persuaded by FAZ or HR to either move to another club in a competitive league and take a wage-cut Or told that he would not be guaranteed of first team place at the expense of our local based top division players.

  2. Sunzu should play at all, there is enough good defenders just a matter of pairing them. Katebe & Nkausu center-backs, ku 2 the Zanaco boy, ku 3 Mbola.
Or use center back, Chansa mu 6, then Mukuka, Kalaba, Mudenda, Mbesuma, Rodrick all of them mu midfield.
When I am going to be given a chance to coach Chipolopolo?

  3. We shall draw in Maseru that is my fear. The performance at AFCON and the loses prior to the AFCON showed we have weakened greatly.

    Nobody fears us any more.
