Zambia Draw in Training Game

Share

Zambia drew 1-1 with Africa sports Academy in a training game this afternoon in Soweto.

Africa Sport scored through Thabo Moloi while Rainford Kalaba was on target for Zambia in the training game played on artificial surface ahead of playing on another plastic pitch in Maseru this weekend.

“We have to be used on the artificial turf sometimes it is better to play on this surface. Like here, it is better than we played at the Africa Cup of Nations (At Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit),” coach Herve Renard said.

Striker Fwayo Tembo started the friendly alongside Collins Mbesuma before the latter made way for Emmanuel Mayuka.
Defender Stopilla Sunzu who has been nursing an injury came on in the last quarter of the friendly without a hitch.

Zambia wraps-up its training camp in Johannesburg on Friday before heading to Maseru ahead of Sundays 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.

  1. We want a win there nothing more. Play as champions not the lazy game you played at AFCON.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • The chronic draw disease continues.
Why are we still keeping the sangwapo division three French league coach?

We are a nation of jokers

    • hope this time around the arrogant ignorants who pressured herve renard to drop chris katongo ll not open their filth months again

    • Constance in life is good. Like marathon its best to keep pace. It works in many energy consuming activities, making love = in-out, in-out, but mostly in smoking puff 2 pulls, pass to friend who takes 2 pulls, back to you 2 pulls… then 1 pull pass ..
      Chipolopolo : 1-1, 0-0 , then 1-1, and 0-0.

    • Ba Chipolopolo twaliba bwino – we don’t beat anyone and no one beats us too, we just leave tournaments on our own!

  2. You always talk about Zambia as champions. They are champions in what, what did they ever win?
Zambia will start winning if they change goalkeeper.

    • Sorry Mweene, infact I wanted to say GOALGETTER, even if I was not insulted enough I deserve some. Goalkeeper is the best and most consistent player Zambia have.
      Please don’t change captain Mweene.

  3. U see people mwilatashafye nga kalimwitobo, sometimes you give credit were necessary not all the time you are negative. let the coach as well as players find the right combination and it will work out.

    • Tulatasha naiwee, nomba FIMA DRAW lyonse, other Countries will end up changing our name to DRAWERS?? we are not a playing field, we are Chipolopolo. THE COPPER Bullet!! so No draws, we want wins.

  4. Lets just get another coach, well done Herve but this is not old Trafford where you can stay decades!!! Average coach you are my friend; a spade is a spade and not a….

  5. @ 11 Tulatasha, But know that being champions raises expectations, further up. It seems that Drawing Games has become part of Chipolopolo. see what happened to us during the 2013 Afcon. Enough with Draws, we now want wins. Even rubbish teams are hold us for a draw?? No No No!!!

  6. Nostradamus! You are very sick my friend, u made me lough like a kid though there is some sense in what u saying.

  7. We have drawn or lost all the last 9 matches we played except 2. Mbesuma has become blunt. Time to fire Renaard was when we last lost- in Soweto. A 1-0 win in Maseru should mean we look for another coach

  8. Ba Zambia why do u want to arrive a day before the match. U don’t do u ground work very well. Maseru is on high altitude and as such air is thin of oxygen. Teams fail to win here because they get tired quickly not that they don’t know how to play. I ve seen good teams failing to play bcoz of altitude. Anyway we shall give u the support but FAZ technical staff are useless

  9. Yeah too , many draws ! But more important to avoid injuries in these training games ! However one thing is that Renards squad is devoid of the necessary HUNGER !

  10. Remember how this coach drew and lost most of his preparatory matches leading up to AFCON SA2013 and assured us he was reserving the goals for the actual tournament? We seem to be buying his same old story…Sad!
