The Government has threatened to disband Chipolopolo following the team’s 1-1 draw with Lesotho in Sunday’s away 2014 World Cup qualifier in Maseru.
Sports Minister Chishimba branded Zambia’s 1-1 draw in Lesotho as rubbish.
Kambwili said FAZ and the entire national team must take resposibility over Zambia’s recent poor showing.
“I want to warn FAZ and the players that if they don’t improve their game we will be forced to withdraw sponsorship as government and disband the team. The result that we saw yesterday (Sunday) can only be described as rubbish,” he told ZNBC Sports on Monday.
“We have given them enough resources and what we are getting leaves a lot to be desired.
“We can’t continue spending tax payers money like this without getting results. We were drawing at the Africa Cup and we have continued with the same.
Ahead of the Lesotho match, Kambwili had told Chipolopolo that qualification to the 2014 FIFA World Cup was non negotiable.

As govt you sponsor FAZ and can demand audited accounts of all your monies for the last 5 years and if they fail to satisfy you, you then proceed to charge criminally charge them for failing to account for public funds, and am sure FIFA doesn’t support thieving football administrators (although they themselves are worse!), but at least you’d locked them up – incapacitating from doing further duty!

The team pulled a surprise away victory against the Brave warriors of Namibia.They are sharing position one with 5 points each with the defending champions Eagles of Nigeria after collecting 1 point in a draw game with Kenya they equalised in 93rd munite. Flames of Malawi will host Namibia in Blantyre on June 8th and a week later host Kenya who unfortunitely have never beaten Malawi in any competetive match for the past 5 years. A win from these two games will boost their chances of qualifying for World Cup. Their last game is against Nigeria in Lagos after the two teams drew 1-1 in Blantyre last year. Another draw for Nigeria may see them out!

Why build Levy Mwanawasa stadium? Firing the coach is not a solution, because the same FAZ will infect the new coach. Its FAZ to fire him and if FAZ can’t do that GRZ can’t interfere because FIFA will punish Zambia and we can’t afford to destroy but build our football industry which offers jobs to our people. What happened at the Nations Cup was a shame, we forgave about it, now again drawing with Lesotho, No No No, something must be done about this team and the technical bench.

20 years ago govt could not pay Danish Coach Raold Poulsen so FAZ parted with him. Govt then gave Chipolopolo Ian Porterfield. Zambia was leading their World Cup qualifying group and were favourites for a slot. Their next game was against Senegal then a pushover. Zambia needed to beat Senegal twice to put Morocco out of the reckoning. In a game that they could have won by a cricket scoreline Zambia drew with Senegal in Dakar. Senegal lost the return 4-0 in Lusaka. Zambia needing just a draw then had a crucial last game against Morocco in Rabat. They lost that game 1-0 to Morocco and Diramba. Substitute Senegal for Lesotho and Ghana for Morocco in the above narration for a taste of things to come
If this team qualifies to World Cup in Brazil with coach HR and current corrupt incompetent FAZ admin they will embarrass the nation the selfsame way the Nigerian team of 2010 brought shame to the Green Eagle’s badge at the FIFA World Cup 2010. Five reasons why Herve Renard should be fired!
1. The team has not improved from the time we won the Afcon last year in Gabon. We have had too many draws since then. This was evident as we prepared ourselves for Afcon 2013.We could not even win a match during the Afcon 2013 proper.
2. Dodgy substitutions – He lacks the technical ability to read the game and make the correct substitutions.This was evident in today’s match when he substituted Rainford Kalaba who was not clearly happy and brought on the ineffective William Njobvu.
3. He is not able to motivate the players enough to be able to win matches. The players have been sometimes lethargic in their play and this was evident at the last Afcon in South Africa.
4. The overall formation of the team – it’s seems the team…
I miss mamadou gaye in times like this coz he would have put us where we belong amongest loosers….its unfortunate pipo like the corrupt Kalu made sure he left soccer africa to amature,puppet pundits. With the departure of Thomas Mlambo to SABC soccer africa is finished. All in all Renard must gooooo.

#32 Rear view just to correct you….Zambia played Senegal in Abidjan,Ivory Coast when they drew in that match.I remember listening to the radio commentary and the Zambian commentator kept saying ‘we need a goal’. Senegal had been banned from playing their home games within Senegal due to crowd violence and rioting when Morocco beat them 3-1 in Dakar. (Same thing happened last year when Ivory Coast visited). I notice when Zambia have a hard game Ghana are having an ‘easy’ game in these qualifiers. Ghana are definitely itching to beat Zambia because of the last two encounters so Zambia had better start a reality check and start pulling the proverbial socks up! Tp mazembe by keeping most of our players unfit and posibly drugging them before games, thats why they cant run now. Our coach also by removing potential and influential players. Where the erk did w. We will not recover from this draw … So what’s next ? Embarrassment from the coach if he can’t engage the right gears on the slop then there’s no survival .. A game in ghana will be an embarrassment …Ghana mean business ..
