The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has expelled its Fiera constituency Member of Parliament Patrick Ngoma with immediate effect.

MMD Deputy National Secretary Chembe Nyangu said the opposition MP has expelled its Feira MP for alleged flouting the party constitution.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Nyangu confirmed the development in an interview in Lusaka, today.

He said that the decision follows both findings from an investigation conducted by the party and revelations of disloyalty from Fiera constituency.

Mr. Ngoma has been involved in activities that were de-campaigning the party an action he says shows disloyalty to the party leadership, the MMD Deputy National Secretary said.

He explained that his party’s action is a form of instilling discipline to all party members as some MPs are disregarding the party after acquiring their parliamentary seats using MMD resources.

This comes after MMD president Nevers Mumba yesterday announced that the party was on course to take disciplinary measures on all erring party members.

So far the former ruling party has expelled several big wigs and founder of the party among them being former Tourism minister Cathrine Namugala and MMD National Chairman Major Richard Kachingwe

  1. So who’s causing by-elections?PF never caused an election in Kabwata, they could have, but as Proper Fathers(PF) that they are all ended well with Lubinda.Check mate

    • LOOKS LIKE PF DIDNT WANT TO RISK LOSING THE KABWATA SEAT TO WHICHEVER PARTY LUBINDA COULD HAVE STOOD ON. THAT COULD HAVE HAVE BEEN THE BEGINNING OF THE END. VERY WISE DECISION INDEED. KEEP IT UP PF.

  2. why do opposition parties believe in small numbers? so in the end it will be one party PF. And everyone will rise and point Fingers at Sata.

    • You are a joke! @Namona. Your question should rather be, “why doesn’t the executive consult the opposition parties before appointing their members into government?” If this infuriated PF when they were in opposition, what makes them think it will amuse the opposition this time? Talking about numbers, its not the wish of the opposition to have a small number of MP’s. If the electral system was fair, PF would not have won any of the by-elections they claim to have won thus far. PF knows it and we all know it. Lastly, to cite RB for campaign resource misuse when PF is currently doing the same thing is hypocrisy of the highest magnitude.

  3. Mumba God called you, to serve him. Go back to the pulpit, before God vents His anger on you . There is a heavy price to pay, for denying His will. Politics is not for you, listen for once or go your own way, at your own peril. Your marriage of convinience, with hh will not help you in this huge, political battle. You seem to have eyes and yet ,you are blind.

  4. Surely these are the last kicks of a dying horse (MMD), unless the current leadership is removed. The only thing Nevers Mumba knows is team destruction but not building. He can’t even select, interview and pick winning parliamentary bye election candidates because he is a destroyer, failure, chancer and suspect. Please, expel them all now since you have no plan and future for them.

  5. MMD on the road to self destruction.
I am very delighted because you have reduced yourself by one more seat in partey.
This is a party I HATE very much. I am missing Andeleki who almost deregistered it.
I developed a similar Iraq slogan which said HATE Everything………. But with me, I am saying HATE everything MMD.
I have low opinion about people who served under Rupiah.
Feira is a town in Lusaka province just after crossing Luangwa bridge from Chipata.

  6. To ALL POLITICAL PARTIES,
    BEWARE!
There is new virus in town called NEVERS and it is tearing MMD apart. It was last detected when it paralyzed Reformed Party and we had to put it down. Take care to safe guard your parties against this destructive virus before it paralyses our political system.

  7. its now called MMD KIDS no plan at all, now run by under5 and no adult can fall for under5s. ni chopelechisa mukwabo uko kuchomwetu

  8. We will never be serious in this country, I wish we could stop these unnecessary by-elections. When are we going to concentrate on developmental issues.?

  9. Like I said, this guy is a mercenary. Probably he’s bn hired to exterminate the party. We r talking about expenditure being too much on by-elections n he continues expelling, ridiculous! Yo Excellency, take advantage of this n bag the seat. Nevers expel 6 more so that PF Enjoys the majority bcoz you intend to kill MMD

  10. Really, and they are going to boycott the by-elections and blame Sata/PF for it! Madam Namugala is now being vindicated for pointing out how petty and amateurish the leadership of Nevers Mumba is.

By the time Mumba is done with this once vibrant Party (MMD), it will be in the same league as UNIP—“STUP1D1TYMILATIS” is indeed a real disease!!!!!!

  11. …NEVERS, YOU ARE NOW COMPLETLY FINISHED…YOU HAVE JUST PUT THE NOOSE AROUND YOUR NECK AND WAITING TO JUMP….MMD CAN NOW JOIN UNIP, AND BY THIS TIME NEVERS WILL RE-SURFACE IN UPND TO JOIN WILLIAM BANDA

  12. The journey into political oblivion for the MMD started when they mistakenly elected Nevers Mumba alias Mumbo Jumbo!!This man is now putting the MMD in high gear to accelerate the journey to the graveyard of the MMD!!MMD is now Movement for Mad Demons!!

  13. Yes indeed another free gift to PF, thank you Nevers! only wish there was a way of transfering seats to a different party without having bye elections. More developmental projects for Zambia because all the bills will be passed with little or no opposition in paliament.

  14. President Mumba has sold the MMD, but who are the buyers? The last time he sold a party, the MMD were the buyers. Who are the buyers this time round? Could it be the PF or the UPND? What a pastor do we have for a president. Did he forget it is Easter.

  15. Unlike PF decisions in MMD are made by the NEC. They are not Mumba’s decisions. In other parties the party president make their decisions alone hence the comments about Mumba. In MMD Mumba has no such powers.

    • THIS IS EVEN MORE SERIOUS. YOU MEAN THE ENTIRE MMD NEC IS SO ROTTEN THAT IT IS EXPELLING MEMEBERS INDISCRIMINATELY? SO THE MMD IS NOT ON ITS DEATH BED BUT IT IS RATHER IN ITS GRAVE RESTING IN EVERLASTING PEACE.

  16. PLEASE find people who can correct glaring errors as proof readers or sub editors regardless of whether the story comes from ZANIS or not. Richard Kachingwe is not and has never been MMD national chairman. the major served as MMD national secretary for Christ sake.

  17. MMD you are just sinking the boat yourselves in which you are part of! Expelling your member is not the only decision that you can arrive at. There are alot of credible leaders in MMD who can help the party to rethink before your party is completely drowned. We are there to provide solemn music as per your wish. A political party cannot be run like a home where you can always think of beating your child for any wrong done as the correct punishment! In the end your child will grow up into a disgruntled fellow. Remember members of the party are adults who cannot accept every time to be bulldozed!!!
