Soccer icon Kalusha Bwalya has named Chipolopolo midfielder Mulenga Mukuka on his 13-member list titled ‘rising African stars from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations’.
In his latest article in Forbes Africa Magazine, Kalusha noted that Mukuka of Power Dynamos has all the attributes to be a superb player.
Other players Kalusha tipped to excel after the 2013 AFCON are Nigerian Efe Ambrose from Scottish giants Celtic, Ghana’s Christian Atsu of FC Porto, Burkina Faso star Jonathan Pitroipa plus Morocco midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada from Spanish side Getafe.
“It would be remiss of me not to mention a Zambian on my list and we are genuinely excited about the future of Mukuka Mulenga.
At just 19 he still has lots of developing to do on and off the pitch, but he has all the attributes to be a superb player and we will make sure that we nurture him correctly so that he can become a star not only for Chipolopolo, but also African football,” wrote the FAZ president.
You wish! Thats why zambian players finish fast why cheat on age? Mukuka is not 19 but he is between 23 and 25. He just has a small body like Kalaba I rememba him at warriors sometime back he is actually in the same age group as Mayuka.
Keep it up lads. Good things to come for this great nation Zambia. I just wonder why soccer fallen hereos like the handsome coach George Mungwa with his Champhagne football have never been honoured after bringing a number of COSAFA cups, rebuilding the national team after the Gabon disaster and his level headedness and sober mind in handling soccer matters. Come on guys let`s remember some of these great men.
Klusha would do better writing such articles than running football affairs at FAZ. He and his division three French coach have lamentably failed despite massive financial input.
Currently, we have put all our eggs in one football basket
We definitely need to apportion a bigger chunk of such resources to other sports in order to revitalize them.
But the same Mukuka Mulenga was left on the bench when we struggled to a 1 all draw with Lesotho.
Where is district schools football? The competitiveness of inter schools and inter zones? Don’t these fall under “Football” Association of Zambia? If not, can’t FAZ take interest and ensure these get back to the time when every young prospective footballer looked forward to participating in them?
At least these days parents support their children who have interest and talent in football. Back then, your average dad and mum would only know you play football when your mates, while singing boostele songs, bring you home as a match hero (or injured, ouch!)
Good one Kalu, am honoured that you write for such a great magazine such as Forbes. What a huge accolade for one of our fellow Zambians to write in this prestigious business magazine.
Ifipuba and haters have already started to attack Kulu! Jealous pigies! Did he take your sisters?
@8 No he refused to marrY their sisters
I agree with kalusha that Mulenga Mukuka will soon be a great player. I saw him in SA diuring the AFCON. He just needs to be level headed, be disciplined, work hard and have a vision for the game. I dont know how far he went in school but soccer could make him and those around comfortable if he take good care of himself and avoid bad influences and habits too.

Who reads football in Forbes? Ba Kalu stay clear of the boy before your greediness spoils his career like you have done to Sunzu who is roaming in Lusaka Towncentre.
# 12 Denilson
Surprised to hear that .. Is Sunzu now clubless Or on off season from TP Mazembe?
Kalu
As a physical education teacher and sportsfacilitator,i really admire the boy and any proudly zambian should stop talking imichanga pa mwaiche na pali ba Great kalu;learn to appreaciate the positive in people who are doing great job for our country. That boy is good and he has a great future if he follows the advice from the Great Kalu;he will be soon a rising star no question about that.Ba Kalu is a living example for all our loving soccer children.Bati ka jealousy pa Zambia ni kabulwele,muleke..
I write to disagree with Black Uhuru that Mukuka was at Worriers at the time of Mayuka,No this is not true.I ve seen him growing in Twibukisha township in kitwe when he played football at Hetro mining academic.they used to train at Kitwe tredes school with the likes of Felix Nyaenda.
