The Zambia National Women’s Lobby has condemned in the strongest terms the harassment of the UPND women’s chairlady Namakau Kabwiku who was undressed by suspected PF cadres in Solwezi recently.
Women’s Lobby Board Chairperson Beauty Phiri says the harassment is a huge blow to the participation of women in politics as it will serve as a discouragement to women aspiring to participate in the politics of the country.
Mrs. Phiri notes that it is shocking that cadres decided to put aside manners of morality and respect in the name of political campaigns.
She adds that what is even more saddening is that political leaders are condoning the behavior by their cadres.
She has appealed to political players to practice tolerance and respect for one another stating that violence will not develop the country.
She has further urged women across the country regardless of their party affiliation not to let the intolerable act deter them from participating in politics but let it serve as motivation for women to rise up and change the face of politics in the country.
Mrs. Phiri has also urged the youths not to create a volatile political environment that they will live regret when the current crop of leaders is no more.
She states that youths should stop the culture of stripping women naked old enough to be their mother.
What is further saddening is that the most of these these happenings are occur in full view of what is called Zambian police. He was talking about Hakainde and Frank that they do not know their fathers; that is why they use their mothers’ names meaning that they were born out of vigololo. If awoman knows the father of their child, they use the father’s name. In the case of the two brothers, seems that is not the case. I fathered 4 childred before I finally married one of the ladies; they all use my surname. So what was the problem with the two guys to use their fathers’ names? Let them them respond. If you are a presidential candidate, you should know that you will find yourself under a microscope. I rest my case

Please activities in this country you are not doing us a favour at all. This comment should have been addressed directly to the president, Mr Sata. He is the one charged with authority to protect all, including this woman.

PF and Zambia Police are aiding serious disorder and hatred among our people. This criminality must stop at once. It is not politics but insanity that these people are practising. President Sata needs to weigh in on what his people are doing by remembering that he came into power to stop this kind of behaviour.
