Embattled Patriotic Front (PF) Lusaka District chairperson Goodson Banda has refuted media reports suggesting that the Central Committee of the party has replaced him with Chawama constituency chairman Robert Chikwelete who is seating in until elections are held for new office bearers.
Mr. Banda has told Qfm in an interview that such media reports are not true as no Central Committee meeting was held yesterday to necessitate such changes at district level.
Mr. Banda has maintained that he is still PF Lusaka District chairperson and that acts being perpetrated by Mr. Chikwelete and his group only amount to indiscipline behavior.
Mr. Banda has disclosed that his office was reopened yesterday at the order of President Michael Sata but that the taking over of the office’s reception by Mr. Chikwelete and his group, is their own doing and not that of the Central committee.
He has called on all genuine party members in the District to remain calm and steady as the senior hierarchy of the party will soon make a statement to establish the way forward.
And Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has dismissed speculation suggesting that the Central Committee has dropped him from the position of party Chief Executive officer.
Mr. Kabimba who is also Justice Minister has disclosed to Qfm in a telephone interview that the purported Central Committee meeting which is said to have taken place yesterday to relieve him of his duties as Secretary General is imaginary.
He adds that as party Chief Executive officer he is also not aware of any decision made by the Central Committee to replace Lusaka District Chairperson Goodson Banda with Chawama constituency chairman Robert Chikwelete who is said be seating in until elections are held for new office bearers.
Easy to say that on phone,go to your old office and see if there will be a national mourning for you!

Next we will hear a New SG, and new Justice Minister as well. I can bet Given Lubinda will be the new PF Secretary General. Watch this space.

The same gimmick Wynter used on Given Lubinda is turning on him. He became too big headed, forgetting that PF never holds conventions but all senior party officials, including the foolish, village muzungu, were appointed by President Sata.

Goodson Banda should have some intelligence to gauge that the environment has turned sour in the entire structure of the PF as a Party & Government. Right now “his” PF office is a no go area. He must seek for Police protection as he goes about in Lusaka.
Kabimba messed up the PF by being the first to attack his colleagues in Party and Govt – acusing them (particularly GBM) of corruption. President Sata tactically quelled this fight by advising ACC to discontinue investigations on Kabimba and GBM.
Kabimba misadvised Ba Sata to interfere in Chiefdoms of Chief Mwamba and hence Paramount Chief Chitimukulu. Kabimba now has no formula for Ba Sata to reconcile with the Bemba Chiefs, but chose to accuse GBM of being a traitor.
Wake up Goodson Banda and know your political habitat.
I feel pity for Mr. Badson Banda. His fate is in the hands of an equally embattled Kabimba whose only concern is that Sata saves his neck which has already been put on the chopping board. It’s like holding on to a tree branch for survival which is about to be cut off from the tree.
If you have no constituency, it’s always wise not to dare those with constituencies with suspensions and expulsions. Otherwise you may unexpectedly find your own neck on the chopping board.
