The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary-General (SG) Wynter Kabimba yesterday accused the cadres who are demonstrating his removal of exhibiting the highest level of indiscipline that has ever been witnessed in any political party in the history of this country.
In a reaction to the cadres’ demands for him to step down, Mr Kabimba repeated his advice to the aggrieved cadres to follow proper channels in airing their grievances through President Michael Sata.
Mr Kabimba charged that Mr Chikwelete and his clique were exhibiting indiscipline and causing anarchy in the Central Business District.
“This is the highest level of indiscipline that has ever been witnessed in any political party in the history of this country.”
“I have made my position very clear, as Wynter Kabimba and as SG of PF, that Mr Chikwelete and his group, they know who the appointing authority is and if they have any problems instead of disturbing the peaceful Zambians that are doing business in the CBD, they should take whatever complaints or grievances to the appointing authority,” he said.
He said it was President Sata who had appointed him both has SG and Justice Minister and thus would not succumb to the cadres’ pressure as he was serving the Zambian people in both positions.

Yesterday , traffic virtually came to a standstill as the placard-carrying cadres took to the city streets in countless mini buses and cars, causing traffic jams especially on Freedom Way.
The cadres earlier proceeded to lock Mr Kabimba’s office at the party secretariat, leaving open only the Deputy Secretary-General Bridget Atanga’s office.
They vowed to ensure Mr Kabimba’s office remained locked until he resigned as Secretary-General and that other party official should stop operating from there until they were thoroughly screened to ensure they had no links with Mr Kabimba.
The cadres who were chanting anti-Kabimba slogans also carried a mock coffin and were “wailing” signifying the removal of their SG.
Leading the cadres, newly appointed PF Lusaka District chairperson Robert Chikwelete reiterated that the party in Lusaka would not rest until Mr Kabimba resigned, accusing him of dividing the party thereby contributing to the loss in some by-elections held recently.
“We are demanding the removal of Wynter Kabimba and we are not going to rest until he goes. He has mismanaged the party. He has divided the party and we cannot allow a chief executive who is going to divide the party,” Mr Chikwelete said.
Lusaka province PF youth Chairperson Ackson Nkhoma said the party in the province and youths at district level would be “consistent” until Mr Kabimba resigned.
Mr Nkhoma warned that Cabinet Ministers behaving like general managers, budgeting managers or Permanent Secretaries acting as accountants would be “flushed” out of the party.

“If the Ministers are not going to behave like cadres, we will make sure that we sort them out one by one,” he said attracting cheers from the crowd.
Mr Nkhoma said there was no political party without youths and cadres and thus the PF youths in the district would not condone the aforementioned types of Minister if they did not behave like real cadres as it was through conducting themselves like cadres that they could understand issues.
He accused Mr Kabimba and his appointees of disturbing the party structures, a thing he said would not be condoned until the party was cleansed of such elements.
And PF Lusaka District secretary Julius Komaki said the demand that Mr Kabimba steps down as SG was non-negotiable.
He said today, the anti-Kabimba cadres were continuing with their peaceful protest by marching to the Ministry of Justice.
Police officers in riot gear were on hand to ensure the cadres protested peacefully in line with their application letter to the Lusaka province Police Commissioner dated September 16, 2013 signed by Mr Nkhoma and obtained by the Times.
Mr Nkhoma stated in the letter that the PF cadres in Lusaka wanted to stage peaceful demonstrations from September 24 to September 28, 2013 against the policies of the PF Central Committee, particularly the SG.
What else Wynter is PF exhibiting which has never been witnessed in the Political history of Mother Zambia?

If only this guy would do a reality check on the arrogance lelvels, limbi, some1 could sympathize with him, But Zambia or PF is bigger than this one man, who has a very good and clean track record of fails in his life history……..
The answer is that the Secretary General Summer Kamimbi is to blame for reaching a point were he is no longer respected as a CEO of the party and therefore, he should go. He is the one who organised the youths to fix Lubinda and now is testing a dosage of his own medicine. He should just go and that will be his end since he is not even a member of parliament- once he goes we should ask the ACC to investigate the oil deal.
This marks the beginning of the end of PF, but sadly we do not have an opposition party with a clear and well defined development agenda that is ready to step in.
Sadly for the country, there is currently no opposition party with a nationalistic appeal to take over. while Rupiah has gone down in history as the shortest serving president, PF will surely be a one term party in govt.
Its time the opposition mobilized and offer an alternative to this madness.

Kabimba was warned by the opposition to calm down and the run the justice ministry with honesty and integrity and avoid selective justice. He did not listen at all and thought he was invincible. To some extent ,some of the youths involved in the demonstrations are sympathisers from the opposition parties and they are there to see Kabimba go at any cost for orchestrating the nullification of opposition parliamentary seats and the barring of opposition candidates from standing as MPs.

As much as what is happening in PF deserve to be condemned .Wynter deserve bit of respect as he worked hard to put PF in government to the benefit of these cadres. The entire PF should come out and condemn the cadres’ behavior if they are not in support of this. What is the position of other senior members on this issue and why should the issue of PF disturb every peace loving Zambian. The police must not tolerate this nonsense of disturbing the city every now and then. Lungu should stop these cadres from marching around the city and causing unnecessary commotion, if it were the opposition they would not even hesitate arresting them. THE PROBLEM WITH WINTER KABIMBA. Funny that Kabimba in today’s Post newspaper is saying the demonstrations are being organised by a tribal clique in PF. But Winter has himself been replacing party officials within PF party structures with those he considers to be part of the Bantu Botatwe group in the hope of creating a support base to back him for presidency at a PF convention before 2016. He has also been going round telling those backing him that an easterner has ruled before and now we are being ruled by a northerner and therefore people from these two provinces should not rule in 2016. He is forgetting that Mwanawasa was part of the Bantu Botatwe group and therefore a representative of this group has also ruled before. If this is not tribal what is it?

In addition, people should note how Cornelius Mweetwa of UPND has been quick to be on the side of Kabimba in all this. It should not surprise you because Kabimba has also been handpicking people from other parties and belonging to the Bantu Botatwe group to travel on sponsored trips for cadres to China. It is all part of Kabimba’s scheme to create his power base beyond PF by looking for possible supporters within opposition parties. Kabimba has also be said to have openly told cadres looking for jobs within the PF government that there are already too many Bemba speakers in government.

It is sad indeed, in the two years that our party has been in power its the same squabbles and they always start from the top. People some of us voted and still want to see PF go forward but we are beginning to see the TITANIC sinking and lets all remember the titanic did sink. I’m beginning to lose confidence in President Sata. Why cant he as head of state stop all this nonesence. This all started from the endorsement issue. The president should openly say something and sort out all this nonesense. We voted for him in confidence but the confidence has started fading. Why cant PF people concentrate on developemental issues. If you carry on like this, you will be lucky to retain power in 2016. We are sick and tired of this nonesense!!
SATA is paving the roads, is building schools, is building stadia, is making new districts, etc then the small one are think that he will peter away so that they could take over… it does not mean that when one is old the he will die tomorrow.

Thankfully, for your sake and mine, our friends at LT did exactly that! Unfortunately, they did not also delete Zulu Banda’s and my remaining stub posts.

The opposition doesn’t need to apply for police permits now; the PF is doing a more effective job decampaigning itself than HH, “Nervous”, Chipimo, Nawakwi, Miyanda, Milupi and Magande combined have and will ever do!!! They should just sit back and enjoy the show. Also, as many here have pointed out, it seems rather odd that Kabimba today sees indiscipline in the same cadres that accompanied him on his so publicly displayed indisciplined appearance and behaviour at the ACC offices!!
Wynter made a miscalculation by reporting GBM to ACC over ZESCO poles contract. As it turned out, GBM had info regarding an oil deal with Wynter at the centre. ACC cleared both of them, but to GBM it as not over, the battle lines were drawn. Wynter has the support of quite a number of senior PF members and some cadres across the country including outsiders such as some private print media organization. In contrast, his rival GBM seems to have the very support emanating from the centre of the party, coupled with some good measure of charisma. Wynter lacks both charisma and mula to galvanize enough support for himself. To the contrary GBM seems to have both. And wherever there is mula, multitudes shall be found. I also can’t stop pondering what Lubinda meant when he said his day was coming?
The fact is that PF followers only recognise SATA, GUY SCOTT and Youths only. The rest are considered as sympathizer. Even when we were voting the two names played a major role to ensure that MPs won their seat. Anyone who play with PF youths is touching with fire. They are the back back bone of this party.

He should have him dropped as SG and maintain him as Justice Minister so that he does not try to portray himself as a victim of Bemba tribalism when he is himself being tribal in positioning himself for the presidency in 2016.
