TOURISM and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo has said Government is saddened by the number of ritual killings recorded in the country and that it is putting up stringent measure to curb the vice.
Ms Masebo said this after an emotional poem by Njase Girls Secondary School Poetic Club on increasing cases of ritual killings citing the gruesome murder of Ruth Mbandu, a student at National Institute of Public Administration in Lusaka.
Ms Masebo was speaking in Choma at the weekend during Njase Girls Secondary School Golden Jubilee celebrations.
A former pupil of Njase Girls Secondary School 30 years ago, Ms Masebo said the Government was taking firm actions against people involved in ritual killings and those found wanting would continue to be penalized in accordance with the law.
“As an official from Government, I want you to know that we are dealing with these cases of ritual killings in the country and we shall not relent but ensure those found wanting are dealt with,” she said.
Ms Masebo commended the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) for its significant role in fostering quality education at Njase since its establishment.
The school which was opened in 1963 had a total number of 900 pupils and was among the top schools in Southern Province that had continued to produce outstanding results.
Ms Masebo said the success of the school producing eminent women such as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Zimbabwe Ndiyoyi Mutiti, Regina Musokotwane, was as a result of commitment by staff and the church.
“Today, we are able to raise our heads high and gather in this manner because of the contributions made by these pioneers,” she said.
Ms Masebo said Government cherished the role of the church in establishing schools and assured that she would play a key role in addressing several challenges Njase Girls was faced with such as shortage of hostels.
The school was faced with shortage of water reticulation system, inadequate staff and classrooms and also required a modern computer laboratory while some people had encroached its land.
Ms Masebo advised the school management with its Parents Teachers Association (PTA) to develop a strategic plan that would serve as a tool for resource mobilization.
Earlier, UCZ Synod Bishop Mutale Mububwa said the church would remain a strong partner with the Government in delivery of education and health services in many areas in the country.
So,how does government put in place measures to curb ritual killings, employ Ngangas to identify the cause or perpetrators of the vice? Madam minister please shed some light on the measures.
Iwe the same “Ngangas” and “miracle churches” are the biggest buyers for human parts.
The only solution is to remove this Sata…nic government. These ritual killings came about only when this evil govt got into power!
Form partnerships with stakeholders especially the Church. The Church is the only institution which, through gifted women and men of God, can effectively neutralise the power of satan. Most, if not all, ritual killings are instigated by those who practice witchcraft which is a common form of satanism. Prophetic teaching and serious prayer can disable demons behind the charms used by witchcraft to commit murders and other hideous acts. Revelation 12:11.
So tourism portfolio covers ritual killing?
No you *****! She’s an alumni (graduate) of the school. That’s why she was there.
These are not ritual killings but sick criminals in an evil underworld who get rich from the vice. These people dont believe in black magic. Its a connected international underworld of criminals. Tell the people the truth so that we are more aware. All Law enforcement agencies should work on this. Put Wynters cases aside, this is more important!!
When you have a man of law leading the country law abiding citizens increase when you have a holy man leading the country holiness increase and when you have demonic lawless leaders well you figured it out yourself and next time you vote remember how the same people you put in power make you slaves treat you like second grade citizens theres no substitute for a holy leader demonic is demonic you either choose the evil or you choose God fearing people its not rockect science
Madam Masebo really likes to be in the newspaper even if it means its just to say something that she just dreamed about and makes absolutely no sense at all. Indeed and i fail to see how tourism would have anything to do with ritual killing or unless you are saying its an art then of course. As the other person said let her explain to the public just what measures government has put to curb ritual killings coz we are waiting. She should have taken up modelling or fashion shows so that she can appear more often in the news with her expensive tastes in clothes other than just waffling when people continue to be killed. Shame on her and to think she even graduated from a prestigious school like Njase. Let us hear real issues being tackled than the waffling were getting on the matter.
I bet you think you are very clever? Read the story again. The article clearly states the reason why Masebo was at Njase, but you have chosen to ignore it and ridicule Masebo instead.
A nigerian man confessed …..”I sold human parts to churches and ritual killers — Joshua ” just google it up!
A nigerian man confessed …..”I sold human parts to churches and ritual killers — Joshua ” just google it up!
When asked how he carried out his activities, he confessed “Whenever I see somebody walking alone without being conscious of who is watching, I walk slowing up to them and hit them with a big ply wood on their heads after which they fall unconscious, I then drag them into the hole and use a knife to cut them into parts which I sell to some churches and some ready buyers who indulge in ritual killing for easy money, and some times when I feel hungry late in the night, I eat some parts for food.
What did Sylvia study at UNZA?
