CORRUPT Cabinet Ministers will be dropped immediately they are identified, Vice President Guy Scott has warned.

Dr Scott said this in Parliament yesterday in a response to MMD Sikongo Member of Parliament (MP) Ndalamei Mundia, who wanted to know, what would be the fate of Cabinet Ministers allegedly involved in corrupt practices.

“As soon as corrupt elements are known, they will be removed from Cabinet,” Dr Scott said.

Dr Scott said the fight against corruption also required sufficient budgetary support to help investigation agencies such as the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) carry out their works efficiently.

He said it was only through financial support that research experts in the investigative wings could also boost their performance.

This was in response to a question raised by Lubansenshi Independent MP Patrick Mucheleka, who wanted to know how the effectiveness of the ACC would be triggered so that the fight against corruption yielded the desired results.

Dr Scott also told Parliament that the tribunal set-up to investigate the conduct of two suspended High Court judges and one Supreme Court Judge was still active and had been delayed to court litigation.

He added that the findings of various commissions of inquiry set-up by President Michael Sata would have its findings known soon.

The Vice President in responding to Chipili Patriotic Front (PF) MP, Davies Chipili on why President Michael Sata during his attendance of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, lobbied for two permanent seats on the UN Security Council, said this would help Zambia participate in global issues including those concerning security among others.

Dr Scott said it was vital for Zambia to have her voice heard on the international scene on matters such nuclear proliferation.

  1. hot air always hot air

the State has no money but ZCCM-IH could recover $1 billion : $570 million kept by First Quantum Mineral, $300m misappropriated by Mopani/Glencore, $100 million swindled, etc

Who is benefeting from this scam ? The mines Minister ? The finance Minister ? the Big shot ?

  2. Blah, blah, blah! Guy Scott, don’t take Zambians for granted. Your Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba told the nation in no uncertain terms that we have corrupt ministers in the government, and then you claim you dont know the corrupt ministers? Please give us a break you corrupt chaps, you know each other and yet you want to pretend.

    • Guy Scott should stop pretending, for example, he knows that we all know that the first scandal when they came into government was the suspicious way the contract to refurbish the state house was given to a cabinet minister. People complained and nothing was done.

  3. The VP is only fulfilling his role to respond to parliamentarians’ questions. His answers would not even convince a Grade 5 Civics pupil.

  4. So what are you waiting for Guy? Kabimba is still lingering in the party. He has incited enough violence throughout the country, its sickening to just imagine one fly causing so much aggro in our once very peaceful country, Time to get rid pronto!!!!

  5. You mean as long as it is not one of Sata puppetmasters? I remember not long ago, Mr. Urine Bag stopped the investigations into allegations of corruption against Kabimba and GBM. What has changed? What a pathetic liar this ‘village muzungu’ has become! He fits perfectly into the character of Napoleon of ‘Animal Farm.’

  6. Yeeeeeesssssss!!!!! especially those intellectually deficient ministers sponsoring anarchy in the Patriotic Front…..

  7. ok,so u dont know how corrupt kambwili has become?ask any local businessman or mine supplier in luanshya, most mining contracts have been offered to him, this Margot has closed bottoms up but the same is happening at his night club where prostitution is rampant among young girls, now he wants to even grab land at first class town centre for just his business, plots awarded to his relatives and girl friends, where are we poor luanshya residents going to get land?We lifted him from being a chinyamunyamu to a minister but hes become very pompers,we supported him when he was taken to prison but he has forgetten by corrupt mmd,let him learn from chulumanda.

  8. Mr V.P, stop mouthing off promises you wont be able to keep.
Remember Your leader told Anti Corruption agencies- ” Before an alleged corrupt leader in P.F is investigated, they will need to seek permission from MrTop- man”
How are you then going to act, as Your leader says otherwise??
We are still waiting on Trafigura Scandal. Stop building castles in the air.
